  1. I’m surprised to see the club even mention the possibility of crowd funding for safe standing What next, crowd funding for a jet washing of the flags?

  2. ‘The owners are fully committed to the club’ standard boilerplate we’ve heard about 10,000 times… does nobody in these sessions, be it WATR, FF ever simply ask ‘Why?’

  3. Reading those minutes, wow, it’s like entering a different reality.

  4. Who the fook is Fraser Read and why is some inexperienced kid holding such a role at our club. As for crowd funding our own stadium improvements…….”never refuse a cheque” Venkys Out and strip the rest of the hierarchy clean too.

  6. So potentally a price rise on top of Sky/EFL moving loads more kick offs to stupid times, that off the back of a season whereby the owners negligence has really been there for all to see and we have won 6 home games all season, amidst a horrendous campaign in which the new uninspiring manager has won 0 of those? Sounds like a recipe for some big crowds.

  7. Sad news re Scott Wharton…a bad knee injury ( ACL plus other issues ) a long term recovery. I wish him all the best. He often thinks he’s Bobby Moore ..but he’s an honest lad who plays for the shirt…he will be missed .

  8. How they could justify a price rise on a product which is becoming ever inferior* is beyond me. ‘we need the money’ would be at total odds with their assertion that the owner’s ongoing court case won’t affect the running the club. * both in terms of the quality on the pitch and the number of matches being moved for TV.

  9. Even if this entire squad stays together without investment instead of chucking in more kids be it academy, loan or otherwise we are going down next season. It's absolutely nailed on.

  10. Another club that gets very lucky due to geography. Only takes a bit of ‘success’ and crowds can double. Alas, cannot and will not happen here for many reasons

  11. You never get the feeling that the likes of this Read lad have the remotest feel of what makes the Rovers fanbase tick, how you engage, what drives ticket sales. A mile out of his depth.

  12. I think they realise they've made a mistake when they get given their new medical kit that consists of a razor blade and a big jar of leeches.

  13. Really is sad news. Looked bad when he went down. Hopefully he can come back from it.

  15. Crowdfunding to make changes and improvements to the stadium. Utterly tragic and embarrassing. The sort of thing I'd expect to hear about at Clitheroe or Bamber Bridge not a Championship club owned by 'billionaires'. 'Some work' 'would be planned' 'summer 2025' - talk about jam tomorrow, yet again. They can never actually do things can they, just refer to some vague non-binding future date when it might happen. When people leap to the Venky defence and grumble about FFP and support they need to ask themselves why such relatively minor investments aren't made by our great and wonderful owners and why a once great club and stadium is literally covered in mould. They talk about these renovation works as though it is unique or something. I suspect the reason we are facing a relatively high bill for these works is because they've cut corners and dodged spending for over a decade and now it comes back to bite with crumbling concrete, broken boilers and malfunctioning lifts. Some TLC and proper maintenance over the years would have kept things in working order. As far as I'm concerned these meetings are a stunt overseen by a liar and people who aren't up to it or empowered to do anything. I don't believe any of Waggott's claims, little more than a paid human shield to present a positive image of his bosses come what may. The club don't want Szmodics to stay, the window isn't even open yet and you can tell he's practically salivating at getting some big juicy offers in for him. He'll be flavour of the month in India if he can get a wedge in for Szmodics just 6 months after the Adam Wharton bonanza.

  17. Maggot is a fucking liar and not a very good one. Having meetings with this cunt and expecting anything to come from it is like expecting the sun to rise at midnight. The only reason to meet with this piece of shit is to catch him out on his numerous poorly crafted lies and use that as a stick with which to beat him and the owners. He is a repugnant individual, a total parasite on society and the planet.

  21. No we weren’t, after the Stoke game we were 11 points behind sixth and 7 points ahead of 22nd. This is in no way an endorsement of JE - he’s done nothing to convince me he’s the right man for the job (before anyone asks I’ve no idea who would be 😬)

  22. Which is shit and is why we've never seen an English team do anything on the international stage. It's a shit approach and never yields anything other than mediocrity. You're better off getting beat trying to win than getting beat trying not to lose. I have yet to see useless even trying to win a game. Sunderland was a dead rubber for them and Leeds was a smash and grab where we got incredibly lucky to not concede in the first half. We all know this squad is shit but he came in singing their praises and basically alluding to JDT just making "excuses" for the absolute dog shit results. As we all know they weren't excuses, the squad is shit and full of soft little boys that can't handle the jandal. Also remember this, when useless took over we were closer to the top six than the bottom three.

  23. If this happened, it would show how out of touch the senior leadership team are with...well, reality. Record low sales and we would be a laughing stock.

  24. my wishful thoughts on the matter... SAFE STANDING IN THE BBE (not sure where, though) THE DARWEN END S01 OPEN FOR HOME SUPPORTERS. SEASON TICKETS AT £220 FOR THE RIVERSIDE/DARWEN END/BBE just hope the club doesn't shaft the loyal supporters, once again.

  25. That's horrific news. Probably means a contract extension for Fadz. As the owners won't pit their hands in their pockets for a decent replacement.

  26. If they see sense and use the additional TV money to offer a *decent* price reduction (not twenty quid off an early bird) they may just about tread water. However, if they pig headedly stick to £400/£500 pricing then it’s going to be catastrophic. Probably worse than 2021 when we didn’t even hit 7k. So the kind of figures a fair few sides in League 2 won’t be a million miles off.

  27. If we stop up I’d give him the first half of next season despite having reservations. If we go down then , considering where we were when he took over, I have little confidence he could lead us back up and I would prefer to be shut of him. Would I renew my season ticket at existing prices? I honestly don’t know. It’s easy to be knee-jerk and say no, but with the prospect of either loads of unfriendly kick off times in the championship or the likes of Lincoln, Stevenage and Northampton to look forward to its not appealing.

  28. Let’s see…Rovers at home & home finale; Rovers playing for safety & pride. Coventry have essentially no motive to win- except pride. I’m making no predictions on this one. Except, Sammie will score, & he gets a first-class send off by the Ewood faithful. Sadly, any Rovers player who shows ability & fire gets sold off.

  29. Sorry folks, while DE is speaking truth here, I added a word filter into the forum about 2 years ago when @chaddyrovers kept turbo posting we should sign "Jay $tansfield" so that every time he said "Jay $tansfield", it automatically changed his post to "Luca Toni". I found it very funny.

  31. We go into every game trying not to lose as opposed to trying to win. Evidently that's what Eustace believes is the best approach to keeping us up, but he must rate our squad extremely poorly if he won't even deviate from that strategy at home to teams below us in the league.

  37. Kaminski wouldn't have just been the difference this season, but I strongly felt that not bringing him back in when Pears' form dropped off last season was the difference that meant we missed out on the play offs.

  38. My bias is not recent. I thought Pears crap since Mowbray signed his mates son to help out Boro get shut of a player they didn't want on their books. His rare good performance just outliers.
