Mashed Potatoes replied to Riverside under the drip's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I think the poster to whom I addressed the question was suggesting that there was a way that fans could get the owners to put the club up for sale. I can't see how myself so was asking him for his reasoning. -

Sunderland sack Mowbray
Mashed Potatoes replied to Tugayisgod's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
According to a report in the Daily Telegraph there was an argument between Mowbray and the Sunderland board after he told them that they would not be able to challenge for promotion to the Premier League unless they signed more experienced players rather than the younger players that the board favoured who could be part of a "development " programme to be sold on for profit. Given that that sounds very similar to the situation at Ewood Park which reputedly is disliked by JDT that would appear to rule him out. -
Don't you need Cambridge's agreement to change in ticket prices ?

But before the game you kept saying how confident you were that our team would win ! Why do you wait until after the game to "wake up and smell the coffee " ? -

Moran has got comfortably more assists for us this season than any other player. -

I haven't come out of any woodwork - revealing that you have to resort to personal insults. What I did was quote the facts. I like JDT but the idea that he is way better than Mowbray at Championship level is still to be proven at this stage. -

Mowbray finished above JDT last season by guiding Sunderland in to the playoffs and is currently above him again. -
If only Venables had been content to just concentrate on football - the England job was made for him. Unfortunately he got in way out of his depth in business and had to be relieved of the job. Arguably the greatest ever English coach - but sadly also the greatest ever nearly man in English football.

Where do you get this nonsense from ? They are 7 places below us in the league.

Venky’s, HMRC…The Plot Thickens ?
Mashed Potatoes replied to tomphil's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Actually, no that's not right. Profit on intangible assets is profits on sale of players - in this case mainly Adam Armstrong. The profit on the sale of the training ground was booked in the club's accounts in 2021 - the accruals principle in accounting means you don't have to receive the cash to book the profit provided that the auditors are satisfied that the money will be paid. -

Whilst QPR were absolutely woeful still a very good day. I was particularly pleased to see a number of Broughton's recent signings do so well - these new signings do need a reasonable bit of time to show what they can do.
