  1. Clubs should have known all about Article 48 and if not said so and refused to vote on something they did not unerstand. A bit late to winge ATE. In fainess most of the Execs would be pissed up on their freebie jolly and had their pants pulled down.
  2. Conned at a jolly on Portugal? Don't mix business with pleasure. No sympathy from me.
  3. I quite like it that Sky, true to form, have rogered the EFL and clubs on this. Makes a change for that lot to experience what Joe Public has had for years.
  4. To be offside there has to be daylight between, get rid of the level with, big toe crap. Maybe offsides only in the defending third, that needs additional lines across the pitch. Agree with severe retrospective bans for diving, feigning injury
  5. It is actually the complete opposite with numerous posts hoping our star man is not flogged. "Brains between legs" syndrome. My Dad used that one at me many years ago as I recall
  6. Great win. Road our luck quite a bit second half. Well worth staying up for which makes a welcome change.
  7. I thought that changes had already been made in the PL so that the "big" boys were going to get the lions share of the quite recent TV deals. Greed rises to the top, maybe not on Arsenal letterhead this time but similar. Despite my predections of an increasing pot and for the rich to get richer there is a large part of me that would like to see the whole shitfest implode.
  8. There is still enourmous scope for broadcasters to increase market penetration in overseas markets such as Asia, Africa and probably South America so has a while to run. It is advertising revenue to the broadcasters that will decide footballs future though. One day it will be a fully digitalised game to cut out those wage demands, unless we get Android Eastham and Bosman types. Luckily I do not expect to be around to see it.
  9. 1.45am ko time here v Spain but decision made to stay up. I live in hope I last beyond half time. V Spain must be worth a look.
  10. IF the EFL Clubs can derive an income stream from games being live on Sky, iFollow or elsewhere they will not care about ground attendance figures, whilst some Clubs, Rovers being one imo, will continue to try to extort as much as possible from those who do attend. I can see the ground attendance and TV/online viewer numbers being published. In all seriousness who, apart from an ardent fan, will switch on the TV or computer to watch a game like Rovers v Wigan or many others. Not many imo. IF the Championship is rebranded PL2 it becomes a different story opening up the international market to a superb con-trick. Meanwhile it is good to see that the iFollow and red button codes appear to have been cracked. Long may it continue.
  11. I stopped watching at half time, 2.30 am here, it sounds like the 2nd half was a bit better but it had 0-0 final score written all over it so sleep seemed the better option. A major factor in that decision was the pairing of Dier and Henderson, feck me they must be two of the most boring useless midfieldfielders in my time watching England. Henderson a master of the under-hit short lazy suicide pass back to his usually marked defenders. Rashford proving once again that he is not the striking answer in an England shirt. Pure pace and not much else. Can't understand why Kane didn't play. That's a joke but he can forget about going to RM or Barca, mind you his supply line with England is shall we say somewhat limited. Barclay back in an England shirt a suprise but good on the lad for getting his career back on track, I thought he was a busted flush. I like Maguire and the lad who played left side defence, Chilwell. I will watch v Spain, if only for a game with crowd atmosphere. Last night was weird and even more so with the oddly coloured seating. What's up with the Croatia shirt colours, I really used to like their red and white polka dot home colours. Fair play to the England fans who went and stood up on a hill.
  12. There will be 100's of late walk-ins to the nearest pub with no Cat A prices or £3 surcharge for very late arrivals and with the bonus of actually getting a pint or three.
  13. https://www.live-footballontv.com It is listed on this site on Sky Red Button. My suprise is that it is not on a main channel of SkyLeedsTV.
  14. He looks like a podgy country yokel ready for spud planting.
  15. I do like that team and hope we get a good performance. Good connection tonight, watching the Arsenal oldies at the moment, so hope the match comes through OK too
  16. Anything resembling a tackle is being penalised. A non contact sport for faries.
  17. It's been filed under filename "Waggot's Unfullfilled Promises", aka File 13, aka the Wastebin. It's becoming quite a big file.
  18. Excellent podcast. Thanks. Only downside is that since listening I keep getting a recurring Spitting Image like vision of a certain ex Football MD lurking outside the Ladies loo muttering to all who exit "give us a shag**" ** or whatever..... I like the music, what is the name of the Band. They sound decent. I know it's mentioned in the Pod but I can't quite hear it. Are they on youtube? Keep up the great work lads and lasses. The NYC girls made me feel 40 years younger! Lovely pic. Note: if any readers want more info on the "vision" then listen to the Podcast !!!!
  19. That's the only football autobiography I've read. It was a very good read. The Tony Adams one sounds interesting.
  20. The BBC site has had problems for ages, going back to well before the site 'update'. It kept resetting to details as at the 28 minute for me no matter how many refreshes I tried, then up to date then into more time warps. Frustrating. Meanwhile iFollow app, to which I was not logged into, started sending score updates but when 2 came almost simultaneously with the Stoke goals I spent the rest of the games eyes glued to the top left hand corner of my phone preparing for the worst. Didn't know about the penalty miss until reading here post match. I need to find a decent alternative to replace the BBC.
  21. Great result! This is TM's first ever managerial win v Stoke following 5 defeats and 1 draw, all with WBA. Found a decent link but the fecking rain here put paid to that. Followed as best I could, which reminds me that the BBC website is one of the worst, it keeps back dating itself. Will see the 10 min highlights on iFollow when up plus whatever shows on youtube.
  22. Bauer, who was a target of ours, suffers serious injury. If all goes well I think he should be match fit by the next window if we are still interested. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45550089
  23. And incapable of organising 'change of address' notifications when moving house. I thought they all had goffers to do the mundane stuff anyway.
  24. Fom Livingstone's disinterested and limp coin toss up, our poor initial fielding it just got worse. 50 runs conceeded of 2 over, Livingstone early on and Lester late, and maybe 12 runs given away in the field followed by 2 suicide run outs. Poor play alround. Jennings ok but never going to threaten too much, Parkinson is good.
