Tony Mowbray Discussion
Leonard Venkhater replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Essay question 25 marks “Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.” Samuel Beckett Review the CV's and contributions to Blackburn Rovers of the following: Steve Kean, Eric Black, Michael Appleton, Henning Berg, Gary Bowyer, Paul Lambert Owen Coyle and Tony Mowbray. Estimate the success/failure of the club's manager recruitment strategy since 2011. What evidence can you present that the same recruiters will secure a successful manager in the future? -
I guess that is the point. Why commit himself to a club, which has never competed at the business end of the Championship, ever since Venky's took us down?.

Tony Mowbray Discussion
Leonard Venkhater replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Absolutely. It is so frustrating, when key players "disappear" at the last minute. Rovers Covid issues do seem to have come, when other players are out injured. As for all clubs having such problems, of course, it does not happen on an equal basis, where our opponents have similar issues at the same time that we do. I think there is so much frustration building here, that fans are now punishing Mowbray for events that are not his fault. -

I'd even go with 6 subs to leave Evans out! -

Yes, Chris Brown, Richard Brown, Goodwillie, Darren Collier, Paul McKinnon..oh and Myles Anderson etc....but the general thrust of alcd's post stands..Evans has contributed very little in his time here and my heart sinks, whenever he is on the team sheet. -

I agree. Although there has been lots of stuff on Facebook about "haters" etc, I think most fans have been anxious about his performances, but have been willing him to do well.. Fair play to him for the weekend. He just needs to score a few goals now.. -

Have you? Well, EB, knowing you, as I do, I am shocked (in the Claude Rains sense) -

God, he was brilliant! I do have to confess I did have a little wince-only momentarily-at 16 years old, when my mate's Claret father proudly told me of JP's history. Ah, but I was so much older then etc..... -

...or Kean, Bowyer, Appleton, Coyle, Berg, Lambert...( anyone Venky's have ever appointed). This is the longest period in 50 plus years, when we have never been remotely in contention.... -

I agree. That first drop into Div 3 was horrible and the pain didn't end there, did it. I think we were 3rd from bottom of the old third division, that November, when we went to Tranmere. The 3-1 win set my own teenage heart on fire and I now look back fondly on those times. Furphy brought a religious revival with Tony Field et al. In those days Rovers fans were a family, united against the rest of the world lol. These "badly advised" (my arse) owners and their club killer partners have done so much damage, despite the current, Facebook Venky love. They have lost a generation of fans. How could they have pissed all that away! And Bill Fox will be spinning at some of the stewardship over the last decade, strange boardroom appointments, bizarre signings, Scottish gangsters etc. One of the saddest things for me was the fact that Bill didn't even live to see that promotion under Dalglsh, let alone the later triumph. -
Quite! "It was carnage, mate, We was steaming.." (Repeat),,,...Dear, oh dear...

Disgusting appointment. No respect. I knew it at the time and everything I have heard merely confirms that judgement..

Given it is election time in the states, "Summariser, I served with Jack Walker. I knew Jack Walker. Jack Walker was a friend of mine. Summariser, you're no Jack Walker.." -
