  1. You're dead right. He clearly feels under pressure..I was being facetious.
  2. Lol..What do you expect? Critical journalistic analysis?
  3. Henry Fonda, I presume. I agree with you that the neglect of the pitches and the Storm Christoph are separate things. I honestly don't know if the weather would have caused a postponement without the neglect etc. What is clear, though, is that the postponement has provided a channel for all the pent up frustration and anger from the last few months (if not the last 10 years!) I think this is a very serious moment because it shows that the whole club is losing credibility even with the hopelessly committed.
  4. Interesting.. I think that the very act of giving back word to Warnock and Jepson, in order to install Coyle actually typifies the Venky's dire model.
  5. Every team seems more fluid and fluent than our disjointed team of crabs and backpassers.....
  6. Unbelievably soft goal! How many times have we felt that soul destroying sensation , watching Rovers-even this season? No signs of resolution in God knows how long. Sick of the mind numbing predictability. The three of us in front of our TV uttered a collective-in unison-"Fck 0ff!"..........(again)
  7. "Venky's said" "Gove promised"...hahahahaha...
  8. But I know..I know...and I am under no illusions. Given all the unsatisfactory crap with the squad, this loan deal helps a little-if only in the short term
  9. Not quite nothing...It allows time for a) Ayala to recover, b) Lenihan's (inevitable)time out injured.....and c)time to review Warton's progress in the next window?
  10. We have been saying the same re Sherwood...but Paul Shepstone? Harsh with a long memory lol
  11. A season ending fixture...another one?
  12. Opinions, eh...I thought Emnes was..well...underwhelming...
  13. February makes me shiver. Mowbray's men will not deliver...
  14. This is the longest period in my lifetime, where we haven't even mustered a challenge... ..and that includes a period with four consecutive years in the Third..
  15. Hypothetical because we're miles away...but you can do wonders, just with the proceeds of one season....
  16. But our Mr Biro styles himself on the other Elvis..But you know I kept the family bible lol
  17. It irks me , but I think "Blue is the Colour"and "Marching on Together" are the best
  18. Oh, Mama loved the roses. She grew' em in the yard...lol
  19. At the time, I read and re-read the Thrird Division title section...Chesterfield at home will never leave me... "Metcalfe, imperturbable as a garden gnome....years of penal servitude...diminishing fast"...
  20. I was one of the last to exit the away end at Selhurst Park after that play off final. We were just standing there in shock and disappointment. I happened to see a forlorn Rovers banner, discarded over one of the standing rails. I could not just leave it in that den of iniquity. I folded it up-not unlike the American soldiers do to with the stars and stripes at the graveside.(Too much TV or what!) I had it for years...cue Frankie Howerd..."silly old fool!" It even survived an attempted burglary and house move ...before my wife ...threw it out.
  21. We always thought of it as Allardyce and Shearer!
