Summer Transfer Window 2019
Norbert Rassragr replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Since Tony is staying, as we all know he is the next window will decide exactly what path the club is on. If he balls it up and doesn't (or is not allowed to) address the defensive issues then we'll have a pretty dire season. His reputation is at stake. -
I'd say Wagner or Jokanovic. Hughes would be a heart over head appointment as he's been iffy since that last season at Stoke.

Back to watching homes under the hammer with Casper and the fat lass then. All of us could see Steve being a massive failure yet he still gets a job. -
Mowbray: Stay or go?
Norbert Rassragr replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
That sounds a good idea. Keep him as a young Tony Parkes. We need a dynamic, younger manager but like you say, Venkys will probably hire Dunn or some pillock who has no hope like Coyle. -

Go. It seems that Tony is a decent enough man but he is too loyal to certain players, uses odd tactics and doesn't see problems with the squad in terms of quality. It's no point giving him next season as I doubt he would buy a better defender or goalkeeper or if he did, they'd be on the bench. I'm reluctant to give Johnson the job, so I'll have to see who is available as a replacement. -

There are a few decent players, but the defending can be pretty comical at times. Unless we're talking about Central Coast Mariners, who are simply worse than Accrington Stanley's reserves. -
Is it 10 losses out of 11? That's pretty shocking form, and the loyalty towards players who are not up to the task is baffling.
-
Now I am in the sack camp. Of course Venkys could then hire Michael McIntyre with Lembit Opik as director of football but as soon as the final game is over Tony should go. He did his job in getting promoted, so now we need someone with a proper strategy on the pitch, and new coaches. Things are grinding to a halt and players who are not good enough are too comfortable.

That'll solve Bolton's problems, another plum with no money. As for the badge, keep it. Otherwise it'll end up looking like some borough council logo like Fulham or Balaji Rao's side boob. -
I was a real critic of Southgate and Sterling, but I am brave enough to admit I was wrong. The former really has improved and learned from his brief club managerial career, and the latter has really matured as a player and a person. It may only be a mediocre Czech Republic team, but how many times have England had a lucky 2-1 win after a poor performance against such a team?

Would Villa, or Derby be at risk of a similar thing given all the money they whizzed away? -

With our women's team doing so well, perhaps it would be a bit awkward having him lurking around the facilities. Especially during the events where kids have a day out with coaches and players to improve their skills. -

Shaun Edwards hasn't been offered a contract by Wigan yet. -
We need someone like Hughes when he was here, but Mark himself seems to have lost it. It went wrong at Stoke, after a good few seasons, and he was poor at Southampton and Fulham. And he had Williams who was a good person to have with regards to the owners. Now we have Waggott, Pasha and Balaji Rao in some strange set up that is never very clear. Hughes was brilliant and I appreciated his efforts here but calls for his return is a bit too heart over head for me. Mind you, no other names really jump out at me.
-
Hughes is a busted flush. Not done anything much since he left here. As for Tony, was the right person at the right time, but has probably done all he can. If we want a serious promotion push, then a new person needs to come in. Do I trust Venkys to get that person in, and not some complete turnip like Coyle? Nope. I can't think of any names at the moment, though Wagner is probably free.

Big load of blond hair? He is a dynamo if it's the one I'm thinking of. The rest of the team seem good, but not half as good as those great players of previous generations. A lot relies on Le Roux and Faf.

Birmingham and Arsenal should have all their points deducted. A draconian approach is needed now, as next time a knife may be involved. -
If there was someone I know is better, available and will put agents and Balaji in their place I'd get rid of Tony. Off the top of my head I can't think of such a manager. The coaches need a shake up too.

Venkys - Welcome or Not?
Norbert Rassragr replied to den's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I know, I was trying to paint a more constructive way of talking than incoherently calling him and his family a shower of s--t who ruined the club like many of us would in this hypothetical situation. And it hasn't snowed for a while. -

As I said before, Bolton gets help, whereas so many other clubs are told off and penalised. And if the next owner rushed through is as dodgy as the last few, they'll be helped again. -
Preston at Home

You quote attendances because the last time Preston achieved anything Queen Victoria was on the throne, and people still went about on horses and trams. -
Maybe he's Punjabi. I have a few Sikh friends and their beards would make hipster vegan brewers envious.

Venkys - Welcome or Not?

If I met Balaji this weekend.........I would try to see how the power dynamics in the VH group members panned out, and what sort of guy he is before paying the cards out ("there's usually only one of those in a pack"). Then I'd try and talk him round to the point of view that a proper board and youth/recruitment structure is important and needs investment. Don't listen to agents and go for some snake oil miracle cure, find the right manager and build the club again. Do a Bournemouth.
