  1. I wouldn’t mind if Gallagher was knocking opponents about and getting injured - but he isn’t. He must be made of tinsel.
  2. It’s a “ Fred Pickering “ moment. Plodding along at left back in the Central League , he gives it a go up front and a super star striker is born. Which one of the defenders fancies himself as a striker ?
  3. The Jaynetts - Sally Go Round The Roses
  4. The Elgins - Heaven Must Have Sent You
  5. Dave Edmunds - I Hear You Knocking
  6. Where’s the stat for ” sitters missed “ ? We’d be top of that for sure.
  7. Good time to play Man U, it’s descending into chaos there again.
  8. The Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit
  9. That’s a saying I haven’t heard for a year or two.
  10. There’s a world of difference between playing where he plays now and playing up front with your back to goal.
  11. Eddie Thomas was the 12th man for the final so the logical move would have been to bring him in. Move Bimpson to centre forward, Dougie back to the right wing and putting Eddie in the inside left position.
  12. Mick is 87 apparently.
  13. I suppose Bryan Douglas must be the oldest surviving Rovers player ?
  14. It’d be like playing Dack up front, we tried that.
  15. Simon And Garfunkel - The 59th St Bridge Song ( Feeling Groovy )
  16. Under normal circumstances ie if we’d actually signed a Championship ready striker - the lad would be being brought through gradually and not thrown in at the deep end right away.
  17. He coughed one up away at Fulham that my mum could have kept out. Spilled a really soft shot right into the path of an oncoming Fulham forward. He couldn’t miss and we never recovered.
  18. It was certainly harder to put in a clearing header than it was a scoring header.
  19. I’ve only seen the extended highlights on TV but the was a really nice pass that put Sammy through.
  20. I thought he was going to make it big time. He had it all, he was quick, could beat a man, had two good feet and he had a good spring in his legs. He once scored a true hat trick in an FA Cup game against Pompey. Right foot shot, left foot shot, and a header. One that missed his way really, I know he had a long career but as a young player I thought the sky was the limit.
  21. Bobby Moore hated playing against Johnny, he always scored against West Ham. For Rovers and Bolton.
  22. I always thought Wilcox was a lightweight. I don’t go in for abusing players at the game though. Nobody plays better when the home fans are on their back, with away fans it’s different, that should inspire you. They only boo good players. Connelly was an ex Dingle and on the way down after an out standing career. He’d never been a physical player although I remember him and Bryan Douglas getting booked after a set to in a testimonial game of all things !
  23. The Impressions - People Get Ready
  24. Gordon Taylor ? Kevin Gallagher ?
  25. Great clearing header from Dolan ! How did he miss that ?
