Superb stuff once more Mr Whittle,to see that Swindon game once more brings back great memories of that era,3 sides of old Ewood packed,Ossie and Archie in the blue 'n' white, Rovers on the start of a great journey back to the top!
Lets put it this way Sam,for a player who only played in the blue 'n' white for one season the impact he had was simply unforgettable.
Just like a Jack Russell he was a real tough little b'stard who never gave in.
Nearly 20 years on and his name still evokes great memories.....
''PLEASE UNCLE JACK, BRING DAVID SPEEDIE BACK''
Nothing has changed then with the Southern based media after all these years!
A great send off for Ronnie from both sets of fans on Saturday, nice to see the shirts, scarfs, flags and flowers in his memory at the Jack Walker statue.
It really would be a great tribute to rename the BBE after him.
As mentioned renaming one of the stands would be a lovely gesture to a great servant and fan of Rovers.
I had the pleasure of one of his ground tours and he was still kicking and heading every ball with the stories he told...the fire was still burning bright for the game.I too never saw him play but listening to my dad enthuse about him was enough.Tomorrow will be an emotional day for all Rovers fans at Ewood.
I'm praying the new Rally sim WRC10 out in October will be a worthy successor to the excellent and never surpassed Richard Burns Rally.
Looking the dogs rollocks to date!
A pure Rally simulator, difficult to master, fully tunable cars and not Arcade like Dirt2.
Have to admit to being shocked at his apparent downfall, his last chance at a world cup,a talented player who seems to have lost all motivation.Have to agree with doctorryan that the name calling is OTT...he was once a good player for us in the blue 'n' white.
R.I.P to the young man.....its appears at the moment to have been a tragic ACCIDENT fuelled by too much Beer.
Can those Rovers fans stating 'what is our club coming to' and saying they will stay away from Ewood PLEASE get a grip of themselves and reality.
This tragic ACCIDENT is not the fault of our beloved club,Rovers and Ewood park is a safe place to watch football in a mostly friendly atmosphere.Rovers fans as a whole have a good reputation.
Please think before making these OTT comments as the media are no doubt waiting to put the boot in.
The electrical nerve signal for the heart to beat is sent from the brain,if the head injury is serious enough to that part of the brain concerned well.........
''Ch Insp Roberts said an investigation had been started into how the man came by his injuries and a 25-year-old man from Preston had been arrested.''
Weren't the crackpots invovled in the Villa coach incident from Preston?
A sad ending for me,should have been Roberts heading to barrow boy land not McCarthy. It does appear though that he burnt his bridges with Allardyce and there was no turning back...shame really.
Would it really surprise anyone?
From what I have heard, despite the little bit of trouble with the Police, the two sets of trouble makers never even got sight of each other!
Its shocking isn't it...for 30k a Week I would happily start at 5am every day of the week no question asked.
They just dont realise how lucky they are.
