  1. Oh I get it now Richard. So it’s those against ‘the 12/15’ dismantling the entire structure of a 150 years of European football to ensure said clubs have unfettered access to billions of pounds, that are acting in self interest. Cheers for clearing it up, I couldn’t see the wood for the trees before...
  2. That football is just a job for them and they’d rather make £10-20million+ a season?
  3. I don’t get the impression that FIFA are particularly opposed to this anyway. Very wishy-washy statements when compared to UEFA and the national associations/leagues.
  4. Very harsh, they’ve just qualified for the European Super League!
  5. Indeed, I imagine Sky execs will soon be asking their pundits to row back from any further Neville-esque broadsides... there’s rights to bid for.
  6. That’s what UEFA and the associations may threaten to do, I presume it will be for the courts to decide if they can actually prevent it, due to workers rights, prevention of professionals plying their trade etc.
  7. Determined to press ahead, through the courts, if necessary... but won’t even announce it on their own social media accounts. Says it all.
  8. Good chance it’s all a poker move to eke out more from UEFA and the CL. And they can repeat the trick in another five years.
  9. Match going and long serving fans, yes. But the last few years had seen a further explosion in plastics, as well as millions of foreign ‘fans’, all fuelled by social media and TV, it’s those fans that will take up the slack when it comes to TV subscription sales and filling the likes of Anfield (and stadia in Riyadh and Doha). Said fans have zero interest in the heritage of the game.
  10. I used to be against it, but now let the fuckers go... and throw them out of domestic football whilst we are at it and we can try and get some semblance of normality back to the game.
  11. What did this invited group offer as suggestions? Also, I hope the very real threat of a collapse in sales was brought up. Not just a round table of mutual back slapping; ‘well I’ll be renewing’, ‘gotta get behind the club’.
  12. Which is totally unique to TM’s reign. I’ve never known us have a manager that has such bombproof support from a sizeable strand of the fanbase. It’s almost cult like... yet he’s done absolutely nothing to earn this exulted status.
  13. Well why wouldn’t they, we’ve improved in every way substantially this season...
  14. ‘I don’t want to be hypocritical and say that it’s all about the result ‘ It is all about the result, we know it, he knows it. But this is the mess you get in when you start talking directly to the owners in order to save your job and have to pretend the oldest rule in professional football no longer applies.
  15. Ah the famous ‘groin/calf/thigh strain’ absence for Darragh. My ‘main centre half’ comment went down well then...
  16. I like it when folk put them in the middle of words, I.e ‘Ok, ok, I apolo-f*ckin-gise’
  17. From memory, pretty much all swear words were filtered out on here until a couple of years ago... even Ke*n.
  18. I suppose Elliott and Harwood-Bellis will have got something out of playing competitive football... take it the owners aren’t aware there’s no sell on fee for loanees?
  19. They don’t look like they are enjoying themselves, unsurprisingly, as you know, professional, first team footballers probably aren’t on board with being ‘developed’ but winning a game once every three months.
  20. Seems about right. Looks fairly clear that if you put the hard yards in with these owners, ‘gain their trust’ etc then you are set fair for as long as you fancy it. TM obviously cannily worked that out early on. Totally wrong set up for Championship football, but we all know that.
  21. That headline will be on his Pune meeting PowerPoint...
  22. ‘This is a club that needs a wee bit of help’ was always his cryptic line...
  23. Dan Clough is a perfect example. We are ‘negative’ because we are against the Waggott/Mowbray line, said fans can’t seem to grasp that those in situ at BRFC could possibly not be the best thing for the club and that it’s the ‘negative brfcs-ers’ that are actually trying to fight for it. To the extent he left his brain elsewhere and is ‘liking’ pro-TM xG nonsense emanating from teenage bedrooms. Yet, Mowbray goes on Monday, just one result later, and he will be re-tweeting posts saying ‘time for a change’, ‘strong leadership by the club’. Though must be quite nice to live in such a cocooned world.
  24. ‘Unfortunatelee with the set back with wor training groouunndd, we’ve had to put on hold the planned pitch work’ ... which leads to a flood of... ‘well we’ve got the negative Rovers ‘fans’ to thank for that’ tweets.
  25. He isn’t fit to chew Sam’s discarded gum.
