Ranting about trivial issues

Americanisms do my head in, the Missus is terrible for it. ‘Take out’ instead of ‘takeaway’. ’Can I get’ instead of ‘can I have’ ‘Shots’ instead of ‘jabs’ ’the oven/toaster/boiler is shot’ instead of ‘broke’ There’s loads of others I’ve forgot and since lockdown they seem to be ever more prevalent, Netflix effect? -
Far be it from me to suggest what folk do in their free time, but do any/a combination of Rev/Den/CLB not fancy attending the next FF? No disrespect to anyone else attending, but I just can’t see the forensic picking apart this swindle needs taking place otherwise. I’m sure O2G can accommodate?

According to the Sunday Times, Kevin De Bruyne made 14 ‘ball recoveries’ yesterday.

Been generally terrible in his time here. However, I finally saw some glimpses earlier this season (his game, even at its best, seems to be to go on a run and look for a foul, but at least he was doing it fairly effectively), then he misses a month or so with injury and regresses straight back to the mean. A player so fragile, so easily knocked is going to struggle to ever make it at a decent level - though like all of them, I’d be interested to see them under a decent coaching set up.

As it’s Sharpe and the LT, he’s beating around the bush, but he has picked up on the apathy engulfing the club, the team and the fanbase... https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19208423.apathy-anger-predictable-afternoon-rovers/

If the likes of JH (and Parson if I remember his post from a while ago) are thinking of knocking it on the head, then summer 2021 will be a repeat of 2012, only thing is there ain’t many of us left for another 50% to pack it in. But that is certainly the mood music I’m picking up, the drop off in interest has been enormous from what I’ve seen, the 18 months minimum out of Ewood will have seen many fans re-assessing their priorities in life and spending £400-500 to have the piss taken by that carpetbagger and his stooges won’t be one of them... -
If passing it around in our own half, creating no chances and conceding sloppy goals every game is ‘high intensity’, then I’d hate to see us once our levels drop...
-
‘I’ve nothing else to say’. Aye, bet you don’t! He knows he’d have long been on his bike at a normal club, so he wouldn’t have to keep coming out with his claptrap and fans wouldn’t be still listening to it.

Well, technically, he isn’t (yet)...

Nah won’t happen, chadster assured me he won’t be taking a job outside the south...

Black and red halves was the biggest selling away shirt we’ve had in donkeys years. No surprise as it combines classic Rovers away colours with our trademark halves. So the ‘end users’ obviously understand the USP of Blackburn Rovers and what will actually shift large amounts of product more than ‘the club’ (who have approved a right load of crap in recent years) does. -
Boothroyd doing his best TM buck passing impression. ‘U21’s is an impossible job’ ’Not about results’ ’I produce players for Gareth, like Phil Foden’ (must be news to Pep and the City academy, that).

Ireland have made 8 changes for the friendly tonight, pretty much everyone in the ‘worst crop of players’ in bigdogg’s lifetime have started a game this week... apart from Lenihan. Which speaks volumes to the level Rovers are at these days too... -

Reading in The Times today that Boothroyd is more worried about being liked than pushing the players. Obviously not an issue when they stroll through qualifiers, but they get repeatedly shown up in tournaments. I presume he’ll be on his bike by the weekend...

The ‘Ewood’ Blues will have to become the ‘Livesey’ Blues, then? -
Well yeah, the day nighter in Adelaide that saw a fair bit of swing saw them skittled for 36!

India’s current crop of seamers means they’ve probably now got the best bowling attack they’ve ever had. As they showed down under, they are going to be a real challenge for England.

Summer transfer window 2021.

Using data? No problem. However, we do have a problem when the manager goes over the heads of the set up to bring in the likes of Ayala and Pears from Boro on lengthy deals. One saving grace is this nepotism mat be the thing that actually sees him on his bike... -
Buttler is flying in Tests and T20s, but has scored 14 runs in 5 games in ODIs (average 2.8), nothing particularly to worry about two years before the World Cup and he’ll probably smash a 50 ball hundred tomorrow now, but interesting all the same.

How it started: “It was difficult with Phil because he got the opportunity to go to Manchester United and he wanted to play Champions League football now. We’re not there yet but I’m sure we will be win the next three or four seasons.” How it’s going: ‘I understand Blackburn Rovers historically should be fighting in the Premier League, well, there’s a lot of teams who would say that. We are years behind the likes of Brentford in our journey’.
