  1. Indeed. ‘The club’ talks of ‘increasing revenue’, something you would think is more vital than ever right now, of course, they tinker round the edges; like having a half dozen folk in Blues Bar on a Friday afternoon. Yet, the real revenue drivers, like ST sales, they instead put up two fingers and circle the wagons to keep their cosy set up in place, ‘they’ know full well that keeping the status quo this summer could well lead to a 1960/2012 esque collapse in crowds, but they obviously couldn’t care less as the betterment of BRFC is seemingly not the priority. Just like in 2012, actually caring about the feelings of supporters, and the increase (or at least steady stream) of revenue that comes with engaging them and respecting their views is never the plan here, neither is reacting to, you know, results on the pitch. Summer 2012, after 18 months of farce, appalling results, and the throwing away of PL prestige and riches, when the club was warned that not changing manager would see thousands walk away, they inexplicably kept Ke*n in position. That showed me that this club is not normal, it is run against the principles of professional sport at first team level, I.e putting a management team and squad together to win as many matches as you can, and a decade on nothing has changed (well the administration of it hasn’t, the club as a whole sure has and what a sorry state it’s in).
  2. He was never going anywhere whilst under contract... operation new deals all round will the Coventrio’s priority now.
  3. According to Paul Hirst in the Sunday Times, City lost because Gundogan was the ‘sole pivot’. You idiot, Pep!
  4. Waggott is right, they aren’t inexperienced. They choose to run the club in this dysfunctional way, why? is the question.
  5. The fantastic campaign of Rev et al, should only be put on a shelf for now, not dissolved. We need to be ever vigilant with these spivs.
  6. https://www.rovers.co.uk/siteassets/fans/fans-forum/ff-zoom-minutes-18.5.21.pdf Usual few minutes of head in hands when reading the minutes. I’ll put the worlds worst kept secret re TM aside, I was more worried by... ‘MK repeated the point he made at the March meeting that it would be very positive if the club’s training ground could be brought back into Blackburn with Darwen.’ Very worrying intervention from Mushtaq Khan, let’s hope he has no links to BwD or the club hierarchy And had to just laugh at this, no rush, ay! ‘He noted that 2025 would be the 150th anniversary of the founding of the club and that it would be very positive if some proper fan engagement could be in place by then.’
  7. Do they now have a bigger budget to do a few more Teesside favours, more like...
  8. Listening to Alex Neil on Sky. Refreshing to hear simple, pragmatic, football manager talk instead of the head in the clouds cod-Guardiola tripe we are subjected to...
  9. Are the Yardley’s CREATV not going to be simply handed the gig?
  10. Sheff Wed asked their players to go on furlough over the summer (they’ve rejected the request). Another basket case of a club, what a mess the game is in. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/chansiri-furlough-players-sheffield-wednesday-20702849.amp
  11. Of course we’ve taken decent followings from time to time for friendlies when there’s a buzz. Look at Rangers the other year. But even if allowed in, a game at Middlebrook Retail Park the way things are currently?
  12. Or the cop out of ‘well, it’s just Indian business culture’. Is it? Is this how Reliance or Infosys or the booming Bangalore IT industry are run? I sincerely doubt it.
  13. Of course, a good move, daft that a club should outsource their media output to their league - especially a club that was once so innovative with Radio Rovers, RoverVision etc. However, considering we were selling less streams than some non league clubs last season, how lucrative it will be whilst the club is at such a low ebb is debatable.
  14. Think I’ve said it before, but the club tried to market the orange shirt as our ‘continental style’ new kit. With us being semi-regulars in European football and that cosmopolitan fella Hodgson as manager... I obviously bought it immediately 😁
  15. Depends if TM is pals with his Dad up there, I suppose...
  16. Well obviously it’s down to the owners and how they choose to ‘run’ the club. Their club, and if they want to piss £200 million up the wall from half way around the world as we forever remain in mediocrity thats up to them... but it still doesn’t make any sense from any perspective (accountancy/balance sheet/tax liabilities aside).
  17. Yet they pump in tens of millions just to plug losses as we amble about in the lower reaches of the second division with mediocre managers... but shelling out a relatively small percentage of that for a manager that could lead to promotion and negate much of the need to keep throwing money away never seems to be an option? Why?
  18. BP is Player liaison, no? Is that not the role in which they have to babysit the man-children that are pro footballers? I.e changing a lightbulb for Travis at 2am etc?
  19. May as well bring back the Lancs Manx Cup..
  20. In this age of squad numbers it’s now all about the old 1-11. ’He’s a false 9’, ‘We need to sign a number 10’, he’s a ‘typical 8... so he’s wearing 66, because?
  21. Take it we don’t have a loan liaison officer like every other professional football club?
  22. Read in a few places that Man Utd lost on Wednesday because Villarreal implemented this seemingly innovative new approach called ‘the low block’. What is this revolutionary tactic , I wondered... ’ The low block is a defensive system where the players defend very deep in their own territory and restrict the space for opposition players to exploit. Oh I see, it’s actually the age old ‘get every man behind the ball’, ‘two banks of four’, etc etc. Snake oil salesman regurgitating us stuff we’ve seen time and again - helps Michael Cox/Jonathan Wilson et al flog a load of books though 😒
  23. They just don’t push the boat out for the role that is by far the most important at a football club, taking the cheap, but ultimately false economy route each time. Yet they never have any issues paying top dollar for incompetent Chief Execs that achieve the square route of feck all. Go figure.
  24. Red and black plus yellow with blue trim as Rovers God tier away shirts? Nailed it.
  25. And the majority of the remaining engaged support will lap up the dumbed down expectations. If TM states mere ‘survival is the aim’, ‘we can’t compete’, ‘parachutes’ etc etc, then that will also become gospel with the fans and a 20th placed finish and a new contract for 2022 onwards will be just nodded through and the recalibration of the image of Blackburn Rovers as a club lucky to just be in the second division is complete.
