Great tribute to Pele and the Rovers community we’ve lost in 2022. RIP - Respect. -
Just been announced that Pele has died, one of the greatest players to grace the game. RIP

He wanted an attacking player with Diaz unavailable, Dembele was bid for, wages were the problem and why we needed to sell Rothwell to fund…… https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/blackburn-rovers-bournemouth-dembele-transfer-22940383.amp -

Premiership quality on his day BankEnd, you take players like that out of the team and anyone would struggle. -

Everyone wanted a managerial change, the decision on here was unanimous, well here we are. Rovers 2 Boro 1 - Gallagher to score tonight if he's fit to play and I'll be going, looking forward to it. -
Spot on Matty. I had a text message from a fellow messageboard member yesterday asking me why we still bother, if the odds and owners are against us what is the point? The obvious reply was its in the blood, we can't help but bother and support the club, but I'm sure for many, it is becoming less appealing and more galling season upon season. I've come to terms with the fact we are never going up, I try to enjoy watching the players on show, watch the younger players develop. I'm not sure how long that will last but I still have the enthusiasm right now....

The same applies to every manager that has come through the door since King rat resigned, yet here we are. We all know what needs to change and clearly it’s not manager after manager after manager……
-
Where are the funds coming from to create this identity? You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Posters are talking about a Nelson, Savage or Todd? Who was it that said it’s not 1995 anymore? It’s not 2005 either. Have no expectations, support the manager and players right now, see what happens.

Nobody mentioned performance, but I did mention promotion. You need money to get out of this league as the promoted teams clearly shows below, if you think we can compete right now with the finances of the teams below, good luck to you. Last season Fulham, Bournemouth and Forest (Spent £20+) 2020/21 promoted sides were - Norwich, Watford and Brentford (massive turnover, spent millions) 2019/20 promoted sides were - Leeds (Bankrolled by San Fran 49ers), West Brom and Fulham 2018/19 - promoted sides - Norwich, Sheff Utd (Exception to the rule) Aston Villa.

I don’t think anyone is using parachute payments as an excuse for poor performances. Changing managers, a new style of play, meddling owners and losing some good players at this level account for that. But when push comes to shove, the 3 sides that USUALLY go up are awash with Premiership money, the facts are very clear in that regard. You get nothing for losing in the playoffs or finishing 7th, but doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be the ambition.
-
I’d have settled with anyone that wasn’t bent, little did I know…….

It’s a vanity project for these owners, they want to be seen as legitimate, on an international scale and owning a football club that provides players to the biggest teams in the world is the Venky dream. Promotion isn’t in the business plan.
-
Posters need to remember, JDT was 5th choice after some decent candidates walked away, obviously due to lack of funds. You have to be exceptional at this level to gain promotion with no funds, a hungry Neil Warnock 10yrs ago for example, otherwise you’re mid table perennials and that is just what we are.
-
The most sensible post on here and promotion remains a dream, a pipe dream that will never happen under these owners.
-
Gallagher was no worse than anyone else today, Diaz never touched the ball in first half and spent most of the 2nd half on his arse. Stat for the Gally haters - When he’s started games this season we’ve averaged over 3 points per game, when he doesn’t just over 1. No wonder managers keep picking him.
-
The vast majority of our squad are one in five players, that’s why they’re playing at this level. Morton probably wouldn’t be here if we had any depth to the squad or funds to buy players, sadly we have neither.
-
I worry about you sometimes Rev, Morton bang average 😂
-
JRC was a positive from today, the lad had a good game.
-
Mid table team, with mid table budget, mid table manager and Sunday league owners. You need money to get out of this league, we don’t have any.
-
This referee is abysmal, from not booking the lad in the 1st half that took Gally out, he’s given us nothing.

Have a Great Christmas Everyone..!

PNE - always been small time….. Around 6,000 of their 8,000 allocation for an all-ticket game – something of a rarity at the time – had been returned as unsold. 😂
