Other managers in the league including Pulis have said he's been very lucky to have excellent backing from the owners and seems to be under very little pressure to deliver. That's an easy ride

Difference between that team and the one from 3 - 4 years earlier that was top of the old First Division for a time! -

I've been to Watford's ground a few times and I don't think it's Vicarage Road. You see yellow brick houses in the south east so it could be somewhere down there. -

Sir Keith ...... a Rolls Royce of a player. And look at that kit. Nothing has ever beaten it. Yellowy stone (?) houses in the background. Would have said Yarkshire but they're too clean😀 -

Sir Roger Jones, Billy Wilson, Derek Fazackerley, Dick Mulvaney (?), George Sharples I think, Stuart Metcalfe in there. The very best Rovers kit of all time...... round neck shirt, white socks and shorts. -
Loved that This is good too - never join a parish council https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-55946252

I saw Don Martin having a kick-about with some friends on a Sunday morning in Witton Park the day after a match at Ewood. It would be on a social media now and he'd probably get fined by the club. -

Who was the player Fergie elbowed in the face right in front of the referee and the Nuttall Street stand v Coventry, about 1967? He got sent off - first one I'd ever seen -

Yes definitely. Beards were an oddity in those days. Very good player and driving force behind that great Villa team that won the European Cup. -

Duncan McKenzie! How did we manage to sign him - the lure of Howard Kendall I suppose. He was one of many maverick players around in the 1970s - players like Bowles, Worthington, Currie, Marsh etc. You don't see them now, perhaps Cantona and Le Tissier were the last of the breed. -
The 1995 title winning team was 25 years ago, which must seem like ancient history to younger fans yet it seems like yesterday to older fans And 25 years before that, we were struggling near the bottom of Division Two ....... a different world of the old Ewood, meat pies, smelly toilets, hooliganism, and John O'Mara, which many of us remember clearly!! Time marches on.

Why was Ben Davies just down the road at Preston on no one's radar? At £2m he seems a snip for Liverpool Lawrenson rates him as Championship player but has doubts about him in the Prem https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55891068 -

Yep, good player when he wanted to be. Another one though who gave the impression he thought he was slumming it at Rovers and never really pulled his tripe out because of it. -

You thought Taylor and Johansson were "poor defenders" so excuse me if I take that with a pinch of salt. If Pickering is half as good as Fred I'll be happy -

It's disappointing Pickering has gone back on loan - was looking forward to seeing him in a Rovers shirt. Still, at least Tony gets a free pass for another season at the club by telling the owners we'll be stronger next year. -

They're "kids" in terms of experience - I think that's what he means They may have had a few games at a higher level but some of the tough old lags in the Championship will knock them around. It's a good experience for them though
