  1. Id take Cantwell and the Liverpool LB on loan. We still dont seem to be going after pacey wingers which I think is our major weakness along with the GK.
  2. its not looking great at the moment, the court case being postponed has pissed on rovers chips in my opinion and the Sammy money has now gone back into covering for the Venkys fraudulent activities.
  3. Delighted with a tough win, Oxford looked a good side and will do well this season. First half rovers were awful and should have been 2-3 down. Second half much more competitive which coincided with Gueye coming on. Still worried about our fortunes this season but the new signings give me hope we will be ok. Really need some wingers in the side with power and pace if we want to kick on.
  4. Not that we have had much success with loans recently but there seems to be very few deals done this summer across the championship so far in terms of them. The system seems fundamentally broken where the premier league teams horde all this talent then try and charge us poorer clubs for the privelege of developing their talent and value for them.
  5. Delayed as expected. As soon as they got the Sammy money the pressure was off. I am sure they could get it seen to asap if they really wanted to with some pressure on the courts given the length and previous postponements.
  6. Selling Travis would be as ridiculous as it was loaning him out last January. A solid committed first team championship player that was missed massively the end of last season. It shouldn't even be a consideration unless we went out and bought 3 first class centre mids today.
  7. It is worryingly quiet on the transfer front in terms of links/rumours etc. Any normal club would have had a queue of deals and players waiting given the inevitability of Sammy leaving.
  8. Of the 3 teams that got promoted this one was statistically the worst. So on that basis it should be a comfortable home win. Rovers 3 - 0 Oxford
  9. Can envisage another postponement, especially now they have the Sammy money as they will be happy to coast through another 6 months without having to put their hand in their pocket.
  10. Lets hope we have 2-3 signings waiting to go now the money is coming rather than it dragging out till the end of the window. Seems awfully quiet in terms of links though.
  11. leave well alone if you can, his reputation far exceeds his talent. Lazy, soft and not made for the championship.
  12. If you want to get rid of something I agree. We don’t want to get rid of Szmodic.
  13. Rovers decide his value not Ipswich or the market. Pay what we want or piss off.
  14. Great to have Travis back last night and man of the match to boot. I can see him fitting in as a key player in a Eustace team. His role reminded me of when he first came through and looked a top talent as a box to box midfielder. Keep those performances coming please.
  15. Fantastic night, best game at Ewood for ages. Signings look great, hopefully a few more to come. Their corner taker was deadly, they will score a lot of set pieces this season. Also a shout out to the DJ with some absolute bangers to set the mood.
  16. Looking forward to tonight, I think its mainly down to the unknown signings Mak and Ohashi though plus the fact it seems like an age since I was last at Ewood.
  17. Sounds well pissed off in his latest interview. Also starting to rollout "I'm just here to manage the team, speak to the club" type lines as well. Be surprised if he is still here 20 games in.
  18. I really wish we had brought in some wingers by now, even with a couple of new forwards I just dont see us creating much for them. Im going for a 0-0, this being a familiar scoreline across our home games this season unless we get some power/pace down the flanks or a Wharton replacement who can thread it through the middle.
  19. I just wish the club would communicate through an open channel instead of these members only clubs or secret player/fan meetings. Just do an interview with the local paper and/or put an in depth interview out on the club website. All fans whether casual, season ticket holder or member of a forum deserve open, consistent and transparent communication from the club.
  20. Any other club would be making regular statements through their owner/CEO through the club website about the clubs position, future and general strategy. They would also be taking interviews with local press about all this and reguarly communicating with fans particular in the off season with a looking back/forward approach. See John Williams or our other local clubs like PNE who do exactly this. Instead at rovers we get zero communication. In its place a secret player/fans meeting in January. A semi-regular fans forum that nobody who attends can/will talk about other than some heavily censored/redacted minutes that appear online. And now some secret meeting with a few people from the trust where who knows what has been discussed. This is so far from normal! We are probably the only club in the EFL that operates like this. All I want as a fan is some basic transparent communication about what is happening with the club and what are its ambitions/strategy for the upcoming season.
  21. Sick of all this cloak and dagger nonsense, we are all Blackburn fans so just be transparent.
  22. If Sammy still remains at the club on Friday he best be playing. We need all the points we can get early on, I can understand dodging some pointless friendlies but this game matters.
  23. Agree, this week has turned my view from bottom of the league to some hope of avoiding relegation. I don't know what happened behind the scenes but assuming the manager has probably threatened to walk or kicked up a stink. The signings in the main are sticking plasters to get us through this season, it looks like that is now the 'project' and who knows what comes after. The reality is though that our assets are sold off and replaced by frees/cheapies/loans until eventually its league 1 time.
  24. The guy certainly looks the part, been a while since we have had some presence up front instead of the usual powder puff midgets running about. Hopefully this is the first of a few attacking signings, we still need 2 wingers and another 2 strikers (guessing one will be the Japanese fella). If we can add a centre back to the mix then we stand a chance of scraping lower mid table providing Maggot doesn't flog off anymore players.
  25. There’s some on here that would be happy to see most our first 11 sold. Smart business isn’t replacing experienced pros with inferior kids/loans. It’s asset stripping.
