150th Anniversary kit/celebrations
JHRover replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Standard Rovers playbook - get former players to record messages and send them in - easy and cheap Where are the other announcements they were going to make over the course of the day? I've seen the embarrassing 'VH Group' pages of the book. Amateur hour. The piece is written by a third party heaping praise on the owners for their impact on the club but really is just reciting what happened when they darkened our door in 2010. Yet beneath the piece it is signed off as 'VH Group' as though they wrote it, which they obviously didn't. Two photographs used - one when the Queen came to Ewood and they turned up for their big moment and the other with the two idiot brothers at a game. The caption erroneously states that the photo is at Ewood for a game against Aston Villa, which is incorrect, the photo used is from the final game of the season at Wolves when their operation to relegate us nearly came to fruition in their first season. Obviously there's zero reference to any accomplishments beyond becoming the first Indian owners of a (former) PL Club, vague references to investments in the Club and town (no specifics) and the Queen visiting. Quite the highlights reel from 15 years of ownership. Clearly no sporting accomplishments to mention nor any recent photos given their absence and no comments from the villains themselves who couldn't even make the effort for this occasion. -

My problem with Hedges was when I thought we were close to a squad capable of top 6, I felt Hedges was one of the players who we should have been able to replace and improve upon. He was one of the weaker links when he started. Now I feel we have a squad that should be bottom half, Hedges becomes a valuable cog. He's one of the few proven Championship players we have. At no time has he been as useless as some would have you believe, although if you'd have asked me my opinion on the train back from Preston a couple of years ago I'd have given you a different comment ! I think some people gave up with him that night. -

I’m not really that bothered about Derby either way, same with Eustace and the rest of them, would love a win but be quite happy with a point with the injuries we have. -
Fans Forum/Roverstore/Commercial Chat
47er replied to Riverside under the drip's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The main point coming out of all this is that the Club is circumventing the rules established by law which enable/enforce genuine dialogue between supporters and their club. The Fans Forum is an anachronism. it invites those it likes to join it. It has never had any dialogue with supporters, it has become a little clique for those who believe they are special and who regard others as irrelevant. It sees its function as to continue its special relationship with the Club's admin and to prevent genuine dialogue which it regards as "rocking the boat". In the words of Oliver Cromwell: "You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go.” -

Its great seeing all these videos from former players congratulations to Rovers on their 150th Birthday. King Kenny, Tim Sherwood and Mark Atkins were special ones for me. same as Kuqi, Bentley and Friedel -

All the talk of loads of ex Rovers playing for them, they had two in the team last night (stoke had 4). Im heading up for this one, will be an early start but wanted to be there for the anniversary game. -
It's so obvious that the allegations are true. How many times has he brought out distraction stories for this club just when things are turning to complete shit. His reaction and subsequent meltdown have all but confirmed it. That football finance prick is the same as well. Constantly putting out puff pieces for venkys every time they deposit a tenner into the club books. Nobody with a functioning braincell would write that sort of shit unless they were being paid to do so.

I second this -
Norwich currently 1-0 down to Sheffield Wednesday, would be their 7th defeat in a row. You have to assume they'll be left with no choice but to sack Manning if they lose tonight.

Absolutely Made me laugh years ago when some seemed to think he did 11 o'clockers on here just because he liked Rovers 🤣

No. It's a complete fiction. In reproduced minutes supposedly of the initial meeting for the Foundation of the club (the date of this meeting is also up for debate) it was suggested that this would be the uniform worn by players. This is a suggestion in a meeting. I could suggest in a fans forum meeting that venkys sell up and fuck off but that doesn't mean it actually happens. Absolutely zero evidence to suggest the team ever played in those colours and everything to suggest we've always played in Blue and White halves (quarters). The fact that the founders took inspiration from their school that wore this same pattern, except swapping green for blue, suggests that it is far far more likely that the blue and white shirts are what we've always worn. This white shirt bollocks is on a football shirt website and that's it. No other sources contemporary to the time make any mention of this because it never happened. -
Armstrong left Rovers, has made 83 Premier League appearances and also scored a winning Wembley goal in a play off final to get promoted. He’s probably maxed out what he could realistically achieve in his career.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
M_B replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I've no idea what he was thinking. Any manager needs to adapt to losing any player, would City play the same without Haaland? Would any win without Haaland mean that Pep would have stumbled upon a way of playing ? The signing of De Neve and Alebiosu would suggest that wing backs were always on the cards. The return of Wharton will also have made it more of a possibility. To win the last 3 under the circumstances to me says more about Ismael's footballing acumen than luck. -
The accusation is incredibly believable too. I've always thought he's done similar with Rovers.

I had to check wiki and it states Pickering 5'8" and Ribeiro 5'11". 😮 No way that can be right surely, just seeing them on the pitch Pickering looks bigger to me but admittedly having seen Pickering recently. With Ribeiro being taller then he would be the better option at lcb I guess -

He’s made a huge error of judgement here and made himself a target of ridicule. People have also dug up tweets including potentially offensive and racist terms. All due to spotlighting an account that had a dozen followers

I see the '150 range' is now on sale in the club shop. Deary deary me. Zero effort or imagination gone into that lot. But we still have the White Rose of Yorkshire adorning everything. I get that monochrome is cheap and that's what BRFC is these days but surely they could do it at least in black or gold rather than white? -
Kalinic and N'Zonzi will be up there, Rochina was in La Liga for years too.
