  2. I suppose Haaland is the nearest at the moment. Not in Shearer’s league though. Prime Shearer would possibly have scored in every game if he was in the City team of a season or two back. My view is we only saw him at his real prime before the first injury. He lost half a yard of pace after that. He was still prolific but not quite as quick as he was before. After the other injury at Newcastle he lost another half a yard. Did he ever score with a left footed thunderbolt ? I can’t remember any.
  3. At this point I've lost track of whether these are serious responses or "That's nothing. After (insert game) he ate 2 babies and spat out the bones" etc.
  4. Dues the Legislation say any many supporter groups they have to meet each year?
  5. You never see Shearer type striker in football. Football has moved on but this era is the best I ever know.
  6. What a weird 'article' - it reads like someone barely literate trying to imitate the style of tabloid football journalism. I do wonder if there was a rumour at the Southampton side of things that we tried to loan BBD in January though, considering that we were probably trying to loan in any out of favour prem striker we could (ended up with Dennis) it actually wouldn't surprise me it that had some truth to it. Probably putting two and two together and making five. I doubt it's something we'd actively re-visit.
  7. Plenty Brittain Hyam Szmodics Tronstad Ribeiro Ohashi Ayari Chrisene Cantwell Mcloughlin Gueye to name a few. But of course some haven't like Mola, Wahlstedt, Ennis. Just like every championship club.
  8. I saw him at Barrow last season as a wing back and he looked like he was kicking on. Then he got injured. Yesterday he played only in the first half but as a wing back. He was bombing on when the opportunities arose. Personally I think he will get another loan. He has outgrown the under 21's but isn't ready for the first team yet but I guess he needs an injury free run either way.
  9. Impossible task to say who greatest Rover was. Depends on what criteria. Bob Crompton probably ticks most boxes but as he is, even to our oldest forumites, a name in the record books he doesn't get that emotional pull. Ronnie and Dougie will be the ones for those watching from the 60's I guess Garner for my era as a hero - but not the greatest player tbh. That has to be Shearer. I feel for those who have only been watching since 2010. There might have been a 'cult' hero - Dack for example - but with the constant circus that is now our club - the likelihood of another club legend coming along seems very remote. Sad times indeed
  10. I think you're right - a question for the club is what are their plans for establishing the supporters group now that the legislation has been enacted.
  11. Well if they have to meet regularly with a representative group of Supporters, the Fans Forum doesn't cut it because it isn't elected.
  12. What are your thoughts of Duru ?
  13. It isn't the people who operate the place who would have their licence to operate revoked but the club, which would not then be allowed to participate in English football in the top professional leagues thereby rendering the club insolvent - it's not going to happen just for the sake of the occasional difficult meeting with supporters.
  14. Fair enough Chaddy, thanks for clarifying. It has come across that way at times. It might be worth considering your tone a little bit before replying
  15. At Ewood? In opposition colours in an FA Cup tie…☹️
  16. How many have we signed since 2022?
  17. In the lounge after the Watford game last season, Kevin Gallacher made a special plea for fans “not to ask Todd for an autograph as he was ‘in a hurry’…”
  18. Seen a few posts on social media that the story by Nixon on player with dodgy injury is Pears. Hair transplant gone wrong.
  19. Open goal The Jam - Going Underground
  20. Will we ever see the likes of him again?...
  21. Today
  22. How many quality championship players have they signed this summer?
  23. Nope nothing. Said no Rovers tale yesterday It's seems like we still trying negotiate different terms for Baradji. Then add 5th centre back and then more importantly a quality right sided attacking player.
