  1. Past hour
  2. Not sure the point you're trying to make here, are you insinuating that we're playing better than our results would suggest? In devil's advocate mode is it not a sign of good management that Derby are grinding out a few more points than maybe their overall play to date has deserved? Similarly I note the xG table has Middlesbrough and Preston 21st and 23rd in the table when in reality they are 2nd and 4th respectively. Like bluebruce I regard xG as a completely useless stat which only provides a bit of comedy value when your team is playing particularly badly. Something your eyes can tell you anyway. The only ones that matter are ACTUAL goals scored. (And conceded).
  3. That article just confirms this. He categorically states that the river was not the issue, says that both the pitch and drainage are old and that the surface can't handle the rain. As with all of the problems faced, the club and owners are 100% to blame. Yes, 77mm of rain is a lot, but the technology and knowledge exists to be able to find a solution to this issue. Rovers are a multi million pound business supposedly owned by supposed billionaires so this should be a simple thing to deal with given that hosting football matches is quite important for a fucking football club. I haven't been in Blackburn for over 12 years but it is my understanding that there's been a huge amount of development happening around the area in the time I've been away. In short, thia means more hard surfaces discharging more water. I also gather that much of the consent for these developments has been attained with a brown envelope so I doubt there's very little if any requirements for stormwater management to prevent the local rivers from being swamped during heavy rain events. Granted, the club doesn't have much control over this but given their economic clout in the local area alone, they should be able to work with the council to find a solution to resolve or lessen the effect this issue has on the club. Factor in the climate change effect and this is only going to get worse. The location of Ewood Park means this is something that will affect Rovers so a proactive approach needs to be taken. Again, should be an easy ask for supposed billionaires that supposedly own a football club. Not to worry, I'm sure all their lies will solve the problems.
  4. Went out on Liverpool a few weeks ago and this was on a random pub wall
  5. But just like with the women's team, people who have half a function braincell in their head could see that deliberately relegating the team was a bad idea. No hindsight necessary.
  6. Never a shortage of twists and turns™ on this message board.
  7. Such a strange manager there are so many good things about him but obviously he has a massive issue with flexibility and adapting to different opposition.
  8. Before my time, but for a more recent comparison, Adam Wharton didn't get his debut until he was 18, and he was far superior to Tyjon at the age of 17 Players being even remotely involved in the first team picture at the age of 17 are very much the exception, regardless of their potential Not to say it doesn't happen, but normally only happens when a player has standout physical attributes as well as their technical ability I personally do not expect anything more than the odd cameo from players until they are 19 or 20 unless they are a generational talent (Wharton etc)
  9. Today
  10. Back in the day Wales had three really good centre forwards. John Toshack, Ron Davies and Wyn Davies. Because the fans were agitating to play all of them the Welsh coach at the time did it - once. It just didn’t work.
  11. John Byrom was scoring hat-tricks for us in the old First Division at a similar age. I was expecting to see a player with similar levels of ability as John had. I haven’t seen them yet
  12. Someone’s obviously stumbled across a new phrase and will now be using it to death in completely the wrong context.
  13. Been eligible to sign a professional deal since March, LET saying that it's been on the table as soon as he turned 17. If he was going to sign it, he would have by now I reckon.
  14. Think Gudjohnsen was suspended, not sure about Kargbo.
  15. Imagine seeing everything that has happened here in the last 15 years and then actually thinking this could be possible.
  16. Very England mid 2000's esque in the way that they have had a bit of a golden generation but don't have a system to fit all the players in coherently. Strikers these days cannot work in a 2 every formation is centered around 1 lone striker. I'd imagine both Gyokeres and Isak feel incredibly uncomfortable playing with each other and also don't know how to play with each other. 4-4-2 doesn't particularly work in the modern game and their squad lacks a solid defence and keeper for a 3-5-2 but they play this way as it's 'modern' but it just leaves them wide open, just to shoe horn in 2 strikers (who have been nothing short of sporadic this season)
  17. They’ve already got a play-off spot through winning their Nations League group, but they’ll obviously have to improve a lot to stand a chance in that.
  18. Unlikely that they will qualify for the world cup now. Booed by the crowd and banners telling him to resign, yeah it's not going to end well for him. Kosovo beat them 2-0 a month ago as well. Expectations were raised a lot i think, following Isak and Gyokere's big money moves in the summer. Assume once it's mathematically impossible to qualify, he'll get the bullet pretty swiftly.
  19. … or to rename it the Tony Parkes Riverside that was being ‘looked into’ as far back as pre-Covid.
  20. Not to mention someone pressed save instead of send.
  21. Yeh I'm not saying he won't make it, but he doesn't seem to be where the hype train suggested he would be. I had the impression he was going to be a useful squad or at least bench option this season. Now that seems like it's maybe 2 seasons away.
  22. Yesterday
  23. Steve planned this, Steve planned that. Lip service taking advantage of fans. If he wanted to put a plaque up or do some painting he had the authority to do so.
  24. He grew up a few houses down from my grandparents apparently! At least Pontypridd can claim Tom Jones as an alternative.
  25. So was Waggot saying they'd bought a new coach.
  26. Just lost to Kosovo at home tonight too.... Probably going to get sacked shortly I would imagine.
