What an abysmal game the Europa League final was, 90 mins of play acting, feigning serious injury, and trying to get opponents in trouble on both sides. Pleased the Red Scum lost though. Hopefully it magnifies any financial issues they may or may not have. How did Bruno Fernandes get away with remonstrating with the referee like he did after one of his team mates was booked? Ludicrous.
-
They need someone to blame. How long until Whorecox takes the fall. Lancashire Telegraph hiring?
-
Yeah but that's all I wanted them to do - I'm penny pinching. I'd have tried my hand at plastering but the wife made us get someone in.
-
Have them Albanians only done half a job Dom?
-
I'm this situation I default to 'anyone but united' Dire match though, I've had to take a break to caulk a window in the extension.
-
Clearly nobody interested is in this UEFA Cup final, but I’m desperate for both of them to lose.. Spurs 1 up, 2 bad sides.

Kieran Maguire doesn't know what he's talking about. The bloke's a complete throbber. - Today

The statement from WATR is a disgrace. Meek, mild, pathetic, pandering shit. Stop fucking about and join the coalition now.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c5y88zdgzp8o Good on Dugdale for also speaking out. No contact to the players since the announcement was made, unsurprisingly. Calls on the owners test to also incorporate women's teams. Even better is her linkedin post. Lots of interesting detail about the club, highest earner etc. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/rachel-dugdale-338b90123_reflections-on-blackburn-rovers-reading-activity-7330864751251451906-5uC-?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAAB6bztwBhX25L8-tIrXRBZDOYrqfmREtgTQ&fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAacICQ-RIlgQqTgeCKnZir8HnML6UKaYyUEmEERn7q8ctAG48lc-ACSJ1Hgvaw_aem_egOuzZyycqtGeYElVVHUFA -

Weimann was a great signing but at 34 off an injury I'm not too bothered if he goes. Can put wages towards a younger guy with resale, and give Tyjon chances in first team. -

Couldn’t agree more, I am a Trust / WATR member and it is time the Board woke up and smell the coffee ! No more critical friend and sound bites and thinking about calling for action or ST boycotts or whatever, join the coalition and start trying to get this lot out of our club. Enough is enough. -

Weimann did enough to get another year, but the injury is a question mark against him. Wouldn't be unhappy to have him as a sub and grabbing some late goals, but will be more concerned if it is Batth who we don't tie down. -

Weimann turned out to be a decent signing, definitely signs there though that he may not have another season in him. Does very much fit the Eustace experience criteria though so wouldn't be surprised if he goes there. Could take him or leave him for me. -

How much has the club actually ever cost them personally ? It's ALL on the company balance sheet underpinned by huge turnover it's probably not made one iota of difference to their own personal wealth. Nor has it ever impacted the VH groups ability to trade or be financed they'd have dropped it like a stone if any of that was an issue. They took it on and have kept it on to play around with because they can afford to and not panic about whether it's successful or not so all this benevolent/generous benefactor stuff is horse piss. They ruined this club not long after they walked through the door and they have hamstrung it ever since. -

These are taken from “Things about Blackburn Rovers” by Harry Kay 1948. The capacity of Ewood when the game was played would be about 53,000, so I guess the Riverside capacity would be 20,000 to 25,000 -

Kieran Maguire calls them benevolent owners Fwiw, if we were all pulling in the same direction with a clear plan, communication and owners who gave a shit. The losses wouldn't be so high. I think of it like this. Back in the day you'd see people without 2 pennies to rub together, but they would scrub the front step of their terrace until you could see your face in it. It's about pride and doing the best you can. Not anymore. No pride, nobody in charge cares about succeeding. -

Owning a football club is an exercise in philanthropy, unless you’re 1 of about 5 clubs in the world, who actually make money. If you aren’t willing to fund heavy losses, it ain’t for you. It typically appeals to egos too, hence the likes of Ryan Reynolds at Wrexham.
