Apparently Toth will be out for 4-8 weeks. Massive blow. Pears has to step up I really hope he does man. -
Really bad news, really glad we’ve banked the 9 points recently. I don't rate Pears but he’s a below average championship keeper rather than an abysmal one. Protect him and it may be ok. Bloody long time though and bound to cost us some points.
-
Disaster for us and Toth. Pears suddenly taken off the transfer list, I assume.
-
Well that's us fucked then.
-
Bloody hell, it gets worse

150th Anniversary kit/celebrations
CheshireRover replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I personally have always liked the connection to the Maltese cross, and have often said the club should do more to play on that heritage. It was (almost certainly) the first badge worn by players representing the club during a Blackburn Rovers fixture, whether every player wore it is clearly up for debate, but nevertheless the club should've done more with that history sooner. I think from the perspective of a (former) marketing professional, whoever was the ultimate decision maker on this project has opted to use it because it seems the most historic externally, IE to someone who isn't a Rovers fan, because it's a very ancient symbol that really isn't used that much in the modern day - maybe it is in Malta but that aside. I can see the logic of the white kit, and I think objectively it's a nice idea - it does exactly what it says and reflects the original kit we had 150 years ago as far as the records currently state. Does it truly represent Blackburn Rovers, our town or our history? Probably not, it should've been blue and white and probably included the town badge - but as Gary Aspden found out, it's not always easy to get the necessary permissions to use the town name in branding (the Adidas Blackburn trainers) so I presume the same is the truth for the badge, and as we know they don't like to do anything that requires hard work down at Ewood. I'll still buy it, assuming it's ever put on sale, because in 15, 20, 25 years it'll represent to me 150 years of Rovers' existence, hopefully by then that lot will be gone and the anniversary celebrations won't be quite as underwhelming! -

I can't get over how cheap and nasty that range looks. -
I thought he said 4 to 8 weeks but could be wrong

Definitely mate. That is exactly the kind of thing we want to gather people's opinions about. Establishing the regulator is hopefully a step in the right direction, and we know parliament consulted with the FSA in drawing up the legislation. We are trying to make sure the standards and regulations they develop over the next 18 months are informed by supporters, and that they think about club's role in the wider community.

Ismael has said that Toth is out for 12 weeks. Dreadful news.

Oddly, someone at the club got close to what I was expecting for the anniversary shirt albeit in polo form... -
Will ownership of the club and how this has impacted supporters, the club and the area be a focus? As I think there might be a lot of feedback.... I think that might be a theme across a lot of clubs in the North, including ours. I think the general consensus could well be the that the quality of new and existing ownership needs systematic improvement, and the football regulator needs to have the tools to drive change in this regard.

Is the white shirt definitely confirmed as it doesn't appear to be on sale in the club shop? https://www.roverstore.co.uk/150th-anniversary-collection/150th-anniversary-co/ -
Hi - I'm Adam Dinsmore from the MMU Institute of Sport in Manchester. We've just launched an ESRC-funded project on the sociology of football in the North of England in partnership with the Football Supporters Association (FSA). We spoke last month with Glen Mullan, who you may know as Chair of The BRFC Action Group. Glen advised that BRFCS was the ideal place to reach Rovers supporters who might be interested in contributing to the project. In a nutshell, we'd like to speak with as many Blackburn Rovers supporters as possible about the role that the club has played in their life story. The project is run by fans for fans, and we hope to contribute to public discourse around the new Independent Football Regulator. Particularly, the IFR's legal duty to protect the heritage of English football. Your experiences and perspectives will directly inform policy recommendations on what heritage protection should mean for supporters and their communities. What's involved: Participants will sit for a one-on-one interview conducted online or in-person. The interview will focus on your relationship with Blackburn Rovers and how the club and town have changed over time. We expect interviews to last 60–90 minutes. All data will be anonymised and stored securely in accordance with university ethical guidelines and GDPR. All participants receive a £50 Amazon voucher for their time and invitations to a series of events on the sociology of football where we will share our findings (planned late 2026/early 2027). You can withdraw from the study at any time without penalty. Who we're looking for: We're seeking Rovers supporters of all ages and backgrounds. You don't need to be a season ticket holder or attend every match - we're interested in hearing from anyone who identifies as a Blackburn Rovers fan, regardless of how you follow the club. If you are interested in being interviewed, you can sign-up at Beacons.ai/BRFCStudy or contact Dr Adam Dinsmore directly at a.dinsmore@mmu.ac.uk. I’ve attached a flyer (below) with a QR code that can be forwarded to anyone who may be interested. We’ll be handing them out near Roverstore before the Derby game on Saturday if anyone wants to discuss the project there.

Where are Rovers old grounds?
Roving Mick replied to StubbsUK's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Interesting entry in Barrett's Directory of Blackburn from 1888. The highest house number on Leamington Street is no.46. Thomas Brown Mitchell (Rovers Manager) lived at 27 Leamington Street. Matthew Lyon 29 Leamington Street & Rovers football ground, Cheltenham Street. So at least we now know where our most successful manager lived. -

The playing pitch must have been levelled off in relation to the surrounding area. The area at the top of the pitch,on the incline near Revidge Rd and Dog Inn,would have been used as a spectator viewing area very possibly. What a shame no Photographic evidence is known to exist. It's a big part of our History, three FA Cups won while in residence. -

If you finish a day in a better position than when you started it, it is a good result.
