Ste B Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 At least we cant get shafted in the Semi Draw now that Liverpool are playing Chelski.
The1mattjansen Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Cracking Draw. Wenger isn't going to risk any of his precious stars on a cold and wet night in lancashire, and im sure as hell we can kick his youngsters of the park. Given the chance this is the draw i would have chosen.
Hasta Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 If Wenger plays the same side that played at Sheff utd we'll win. Chelsea also play Liverpool which would really open a trip to Wembley up if we got through.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Great draw Very winnable and at home.... Great opportunity to get to the final especially as one of Liverpool and Chelsea will be knocked out :-)
philipl Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Four Lancashire v London games and teams in the top 5 drawn against each other: West Ham v Everton Man City v Spurs Chelsea v Liverpool Blackburn v Arsenal
frosty Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 That'll have to do. Was hoping for one of the first 4 drawn out at home, but I fancy us if Arsene plays his kids.
Wolves_Rover Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Well that's us up for another 4-0 win on route to our 2nd league cup title then Seriously though, If Arsene throws his youngsters at us we should win this.
EwoodGlory Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 At home against the Arsenal kids, could have been worse. Most important thing was a home draw.
brfcshabba Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Interesting to see the north v south split in the draw
only2garners Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 What date will the game be on? Either 4th or 5th December depending on TV. I'll be on holiday
jrabrfc Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 The tie will be played in the week commencing the 17th December, according to the BBC and the official Carling site, apart from West Ham - Everton which will be the week before because of UEFA commitments.

I hope it is but the Carling Cup site says the ties are in w/c 3rd December
philipl Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Some predictable Arsenal reaction to the draw. Think it is fair to say that Rovers away was the nightmare in all the possibilities in that draw for Arsenal.. and they got it!
Seggie Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 oh crap, I f'kin hate these thugs. They'll be looking to really give our youngsters a good kicking, our first team have learnt to dealt with it but some of our CC players will noy have come across such thuggery. Also Blackburn are playing really well so that makes it doubly hard. Tough fixture this one, if we do progress at least either Liverpool or Chelski will be out, we had to play each of them last season. I dont know if this is some sort of deluded attempt of praise
Fife Rover Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I dont know if this is some sort of deluded attempt of praise How come none of the other clubs in the Prem are calling us thugs and accusing us of violence or kicking their players? This allied to the fact that in the same paragraph he also states that we are playing really well. I don't know about deluded, but it is certainly illogical, and he has obviously not seen Rovers playing for a considerable time (3 seasons?). Like most of the prats down there he just believes everything he reads in the tabloids.
Mr. E Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 if the gunners play the kids we'll have a good shot. But as evident, the gunners always have some of the brightest prospects so we can't take anything for granted.

But as evident, the gunners always have some of the brightest prospects so we can't take anything for granted. Exactly right remember what they did to Liverpool in the Carling Cup last season, it is winnable and I'm sure Hughes will spell it out to the players that this is not a formality.
Plastic Head Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 if the gunners play the kids we'll have a good shot. But as evident, the gunners always have some of the brightest prospects so we can't take anything for granted. Wenger has already given his players an excuse for losing to us so let's not let them down....
