RIML Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 I'm just thinking of that 'thing' he did when he kicked the ball miles over I don't know what to call it, was it a shot? It's making me laugh and putting a smile back on my face anyway.

ada2020 Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Jones is a good player, I'm not sure he understood his role today though, first half he seemed to be playing anywhere and everywhere. Get some organisation to the team Mr.Kean. That shot/clearance? Was rather amusing
AHoyle90 Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Playing him where he did today was a mistake by the manager. I still think he needs time and has obvious qualities, we found his position sat in front of the back four now we are moving him around every game, don't get it.
sparky12 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Still not impressed with this guy. At all. he had a good game for us yesterday, made some good challenges and looked solid!! saying that who am i trying to impress, this is brfcs.com the place where people make something to complain about!!
Guest linganzi Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 He isn't a world beater but gives it everything and that's food enough for me
John Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Still not been that impressed, looks fairly average at the moment - loves his reckless challenges.
Bobby G Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 He doesnt go missing a la Grella. He isnt afraid to get stuck in. He runs his legs off. Qualities that none of our midfielders have. He isnt the best, but between our midfielders he is the best defensive one, which makes it more ludicrous to see him playing in a more advanced role instead of holding.
John Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I thought Grella looked pretty assured yesterday considering he has been out for a while. His passing is pretty decent too.
wellesbourne Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Invisible on Saturday. Did Grella play also come to think of it......
47er Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 I'm wondering what people see in this guy to be honest. He's average.
92er Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 I'm wondering what people see in this guy to be honest. He's average. Kean, on Radio Lancs, said we'll see the best of him in the last 10 matches.
47er Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Kean, on Radio Lancs, said we'll see the best of him in the last 10 matches. Hint of desperation in that remark I think! Kean will have to sort out a system that suits for a start before any individual mid-fielder can play well. I'd suggest 4 in the middle--our speedy wingers either side, both N'Zonzi and Jones in the middle, Formica ahead of them providing the craft and Santa Cruz up front.Everyone could understand that i think but what do I know? He'll probably persevere with his diamond.

CaliRoverNYC Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 He got the call from the USA for the friendlies against Argentina and Paraguay. really hope he's concentrating on saturday though, a good performance could get him a start for the Yanks, and we need a good performance from everyone against Blackpool.
D-side17 Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 I thought this lad had a great game today. He really got about the pitch, gave absolutely everything and retained possession a lot better than in previous matches. He was constantly harrying the opposition but also found the energy to burst forward and support our attacks. Hopefully this is a sign that he is really beginning to acclimatise to the Premier League.

yellowsubmarine Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 i totally agree, JJ had a good game. probably second to Junior. Lots of energy forward, stopped play a couple of times. But he has got to learn not to give unnecessary fouls away (Adam's second goal). N'Zonzi and Emerton were both awful.
Bobby G Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 In my opinion he's had a few good games in a row. Plays best alongside a sitting midfielder.
CrazyIvan Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 I thought he was truly excellent today. I'd love to see this player stay at Rovers longterm. We need someone with his energy and drive. He's not perfect by any stretch but he's the best midfielder at the club. I don't think Junior is classed or should be classed as a midfielder...
JamieUK Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 I thought he kept giving away stupid free kicks. Doesnt matter how far he runs - if his wrecklessness leads to a goal he's a liability. He stands out because of the crap we've put up with over the last few seasons.

He stands out because of the crap we've put up with over the last few seasons. I was just about to post exactly this. If he were to be able to cut that out of his game then he would be great.
Backroom Tom Posted March 19, 2011 Backroom Posted March 19, 2011 Any player of his kind will give away a lot of free kicks, it's a hazard of the job, even the greats like Claude Makelele did it. The foul for the goal was un needed though otherwise he was superb
Roversi Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Ran his socks off today, i would definatly have him permanent however his wages will have to be lowered, if he adds goals then fair enough, however putting yourself about and running around does not deserve 60-70k a week. but impressed me today
philipl Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Looked comfortable and had a really good game today. More of the same please!
