Torgeir Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 According to Click Lancashire we have failed with opening bid for Cisse, anything in this? Same that said we were in for Fraser Fyvie.... Papiss Cisse Isn't that an old story?
chaddyrovers Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Papiss Cisse would be a very good signing but I don't think he is the big money signing we are making!
Hughesy Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Think the bid stuff is old. Scored plenty last season, would be an interesting one @ the right price....rather spend sensible money on someone like him than Vucinic @ £18m
Roversi Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 click lancashire are saying we have had an opening bid of around 6 mill turned down for papiss cisse, with frieberg looking for around 13 mill. Dynamo Kiev are also mentioned that they are ready to offer 10 mill.
Ricky Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I would be happy with a deal for him at £7m, wonder if this is the second striker Nicko mentioned at the 7-10m price mark. His record is inpressive but he's unproven in the prem. At least he's been playing in the german league which is more similar to the prem than Spain or Italy so you'd like to think he'd be ok. Would be happy with cisse and cordoza coming in as the front two.
davulsukur Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Rovers are believed to have had a £6 million bid for Cisse rejected last month, with the German side demanding more than £13 million The story is just a rehash surely. Says we had a bid rejected last month
braddock Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Rovers & Sunderland linked If those quotes are genuine he doesn't sound as childish as his friend Ba. Will only go if he's sold. No holding the club to ransom and not turning up to training etc.

Agree on the pairing, even in the Prem there has to be 30+ goal a season in those two, throw in 10 from Hoilett and similar from another MF player we would be flying. I think we would have to cough up 10m minimum but if he did hit it off we would double our money in a season or two. Watched all the vids he looks impressive, another season in Germany like his last and the big guns will out for him.
Lee0r Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Looking at some of the videos, his movement off the ball is outstanding!
The Rover of Finland Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 To be honest, this the kind of player we could sign with big money. Players from bigger clubs won´t join us if not get paid silly wages. Even when we can pay the fee.
Jamesw1982 Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Some people need to get a life me thinks Papiss Cisse ?
chaddyrovers Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 hope we do sign him! seen him play twice last season on espn and he scored in both games.
Roverdale Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Some people need to get a life me thinks Papiss Cisse ? From the bottom of Wikipedia... This page was last modified on 23 June 2011 at 17:49. Idiots.
Backroom Tom Posted June 23, 2011 Backroom Posted June 23, 2011 According to Nicko a bid is being readied http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Blackburn-prepare-record-12million-bid-for-Freiburg-striker-Papiss-Cisse-EXCLUSIVE-article751979.html I like the sound of this one, it would be great to get him in early if possible for a full pre season He looks like he can finish but what worries me is we don't seem to create many chances for our strikers.
Neal Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 This boy looks absolutely ruthless in front of goal. He seems to be able to finish in every way, lets have him.
Hughesy Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Just been watching some clips of him and the lad seems to be good with both feet, quick, decent in the air and Mr Cool when it comes to finishing. He also takes penalties and has a habbit of scoring volleys... Impressive......PLEASE sign him up Good vid from Metz days
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 This lad looks to have everything; pace, power, hunger, a great eye for goal and most importantly a fair bit of luck coupled with the ability to be in the right place at the right time. He appears to have everything we need and more although I wouldn't be surprised if he has bigger fish to fry...
LeftWinger Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 This is a description of what type of player he is from IMScouting. Cisse is a striker with a 'fox-in-the-box' mentality, always in the right place at the right time. He has good finishing abilities and follows up shots well.Cisse is described as a fast and efficient target striker, who performs well as a lone forward and has good technique and dribbling skills. http://www.imscouting.com/global-news-article/Papiss-Cisse-in-outstanding-form-for-SC-Freiburg-Video/11333/
neophox Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Apparently fee agreed, personal terms to be agreed.
LeftWinger Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 A selection of goal scorers from the Bundesliga last season. Cisse outscored some big names - despite playing for a mid-table side. Cisse 22 Podolski 13 Raul 13 Robben 12 Muller 12 Grafite 9 Cacau 8 Huntelaar 9 Lewandowski 8 Ruud Van Nistelrooy 7
