rovers11 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Other results going very nicely so far. Reading a man down and a goal down. Ipswich a goal down. Great opportunity to make up some ground.

Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted February 8, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted February 8, 2014 Burnley 2-1 with Millwall, Ings missed a pen? That right?? I still expect them to put Milwall away second half comfortably. Edit-Forest score on the stroke of ht.
longsiders1882 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Ings did miss a penalty - well some of you have been telling me since August our luck was about to run out ;-) . His two goals though were very well taken. A decent set of results all round for us - just need the right result tomorrow now. A point away is always decent but a win for you yesterday would really have taken advantage of some favourable results. I can't believe how close it is for the top 6. Anybody from about 11th could make the play offs, and (assuming Leicester are now pretty much there) 4 teams still in with a real shout at the other automatic spot
Proudtobeblue&white Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 See Derby 1-0, helping the Dingles retain second at the mo....I know GB can't tell us the end game, mainly cos the Loons don't know either, but is there a time to throw caution to the wind in an attempt at the PO's?
Backroom Tom Posted February 10, 2014 Backroom Posted February 10, 2014 Not sure its a good result for Burnley in the long run though as Derby and QPR will both be breathing down their neck instead of just QPR The (envious) problem Burnley have is being in an automatic position for so long that if a team has a late surge and usurps them they head into the playoffs with a negative mindset
Ricky Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 derby were pottering along with a steady manager before they shocked us all and sacked him. Not many here would have wanted McLaren but he's certainly done the job there. 1 point off the automatic places now.
Stuart Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 Begs the question, Ricky. At what point does 'not being Steve Kean' and "[insert well-meaning defence] considering the last 3 years" stop being enough?
Blue blood Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 So QPR and Redknapp once again showing it's money over substance. That's another loss for QPR against a top 4 team. Granted they've done well against the weaker teams, but as soon as they don't have a monetary advantage they seem to struggle. And people say Redknapp is a great manager... Very interesting to see Derby challenging for an automatic promotion place. Really surprised given they've a pretty average Championship squad - not sure how many of their players we would want. It does show what the right tactics and manager can do for you thought,
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted February 10, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted February 10, 2014 Funnily enough, QPR are a team full of egos and individuals, and not really team spirit. Which was 'Arry's main criticism of the club when he took over from Mark Hughes...
longsiders1882 Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 1 point but Us and QPR have a game in hand. I'll take being in second at this point in the season, even on GD alone. I'm not worried about us going into the play offs on a downer but regardless if where you finish they are a lottery, and I would have snapped your hand of in August for any of the top 6 positions. Absolutely loving the rid and this has been a great set of weekend results for us.

Backroom Mike E Posted February 10, 2014 Backroom Posted February 10, 2014 BREAKING NEWS: Harry Redknapp rather likes the look of one of another team's top players and would love to have him, even though said team have dismissed rumours of a move and it'd be disrespectful to say any more. (Ravel Morrison of West Ham this time).

Absolutely loving the rid and this has been a great set of weekend results for us. The success Burnley are continuing to have is suprising in a number of ways. Longsider had expected them to have faded by now, partly because of their smallish squad which could have been by reduced injuries and suspensions. The season they were promoted was partly a financial gamble-they normally sell someone in January but they didn't that season. They haven't done again this season. Let's hope the parallels don't continue!

Let's hope the parallels don't continue! Worst bit is that we let them have one of their most influential players. I rated him but it seems Bowyer didn't.... although in fairness at that point he believed that Spearing was on his way in..... a fine example of the old 'bird in the hand' adage.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 If Burnley don't go up it's going to have been a very, very costly season for them. Being in the top three all season will be pretty expensive players bonus wise.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted February 11, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted February 11, 2014 Given the players QPR have got they should be walking it.My point exactly!
Clitherover Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Never normally want Bolton to win but I hope they turn their fortunes round just for one night tonight.

Being in the top three all season will be pretty expensive players bonus wise. Extra support through the season (although goodness knows where their average attendance would settle if they were fighting relegation) plus 2/3 extra matches in front of full houses in May should cover most of it I'd suggest. If not they'll get plenty of booty from the sale of their best players in the summer.
longsiders1882 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Our last 10 seasons at this level have seen us at around 12500 each year. The only exceptions were the 2 immediately post the PL where we were at around 14500 and the promotion season itself - where we were still only at 13K.

Jimmy612 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 At least you're making some savings there. Here he is. The highlight of what must be a thoroughly miserable existence. His infatuation with a BRFC message board continues I love the fact that your favourite memory of the last 35 years was a goal in a game which you ultimately lost... again.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted February 11, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted February 11, 2014 At least you're making some savings there. That doesn't even make sense. You must have a truly grim existence if you get your kicks by trolling on a rival club's message board.
Backroom Tom Posted February 11, 2014 Backroom Posted February 11, 2014 Bored of his trolling now Tata
ABBEY Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 At least you're making some savings there.Have you not got a 19" cactus dildo to be shoving up your fat wobbly crinkled bum.... do one you moronic dipshit of an excuse of a human being.
