Waggott wasn't a good egg, but there's clearly an internal power struggle going on and he may simply be the scapegoat that allows the rest to continue business as usual. Also means Gestede probably the 'CEO' now reporting into the COO Pasha. That statement is mental though literally 2 sentences 😂 Good to see him gone. Quote

Just speculation, but I wonder whether SW was against what has happened with Rovers WFC and this has cause a significant rift, or a straw that broke camel's back? Maybe we'll never know. Maybe he'll be on a podcast with big Sam next week telling all 😄 Bollocks, nothing good ever came with Waggott at the club I don't think? Quote
Popular Post oldjamfan1 Posted 9 hours ago Popular Post Posted 9 hours ago I realise this won't be a popular view on here but Waggott leaving might not be the positive we think it is. In fact, I shudder to think what happens next. 13 Quote
Gamst21 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I hope this doesn't mean Rudy will be taking over now. Hopefully Suhail is next! Quote

Never ever saw anything positive from those meetings come? Or am I thinking of someone else? Quote

One rat down, king rat Suhail up next. 2 Quote

RevidgeBlue Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Well I'm hearing Waggott's gone - no doubt much to Mashed's chagrin. If true, an extremely happy day for the Club. Absolute piece of Scum trying to flog off part of Brockhall. One victory at a time. If he hadn't set ST prices so high, I might have considered reinstating my ST for next season. 5 Quote

He wasn't perfect by any means and was a bit of a player - but the only half decent football decisions that have been made in recent times were through him. And whether you believed his spiel or not he at least spoke to fans. He delivered on some things but not others. As I say, I'm glad he's going but only in the way that some folk were glad that Big Sam got canned, if you get my drift. What happens next could put us in an even worse position. 1 Quote
StHelensRover Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Just addressing the couple of people responding to my post above to iterate that I am also very pleased he has gone, my wildest dream is that he is the first domino in a chain that somehow results in Venkys selling the club in the next 12 months. Like others have also mentioned however, I'm a little worried about who is left on charge right now and who might be appointed. I hope they don't think him going will be some kind of sacrifice to appease us, coz it won't! Edited 8 hours ago by StHelensRover 2 Quote
MB Rover Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Those who don’t/didn’t see the point in the coalition, their statements and their videos. Sit up and take note. We can do magnificent things when we pull together. 4 Quote
JHRover Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Indeed he's gone. Confirmed by the club in a typically limited and vague manner with zero mention of who is - officially at least - running the show now. As far as I am concerned a positive but ultimately pointless whilst Venkys and their main stooge remains. We will just lurch from one incompetent to another under their ownership. I expected a fall guy this summer. Last year it was Broughton, they needed one this to keep the heat off India and head stooge which has been building. The women's team furore will have caused them grief so this announcement used to head off trouble there. They aren't daft. Of course it has long been rumoured that Waggott was preparing for retirement so it may simply be that and the head stooge attempting to collect some credit/points by making it appear as a removal. Venkys out, that's all that really matters. 9 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) In two minds on this. On side we know his flaws, his past, his clear inability and reluctance to manage upwards and his obvious slippery character traits. On the other side he is the nearest thing to a genuine football administrator they've ever employed and has overseen a period of stability on the pitch at least. I think it's the guy above him who has and is the real issue here and to replace Waggot with Gestede will no doubt trigger chaos. End of the day though all they have done is brought forwards his retirement a bit and i expect it's another desperate cost cutting measure if he's off straight away. arbitro Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Trying to join the dots up and the timing of this and the media furore over the womens debacle I wonder if he has been offered up as the sacrificial lamb. He is an easy hit given his age. A nice fat NDA to enhance his retirement pot too The abrupt statement indicates this has happened really quickly. 5 Quote

He was so far away from being a genuine football administrator but it's such a low bar at this club after Derek Shaw and co. I'll always see him as another chancer who took everything he could out and put very little back in. I'll also always see him as the reason JDT's first season was derailed along with Adam Wharton leaving. And he'd have left a lot cheaper if the kid hadn't dug his heels in, it wasn't Waggott holding out for more money. Edited 8 hours ago by booth 8 Quote

davulsukur Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Obviously, great news that Waggott has gone. Big concerns, however: Will Rudy just be moved into that role? Has Suhail basically chucked Waggott under the bus to save himself and is he now the sole wielder of power at the club? 2 Quote
