But they don't really want a CEO do they that role is already filled just not in name.

They want a Chief Administrator really who is only in charge of certain non football things, more like another 'Head of Heads'.

So it's probably irrelevant who they appoint now.

Glen was sure that Suhail is the last of that lot. The guy needs ridding once and for all.

I think he is the last visible one and I’m sure if you ask Glen, he would say that too.

It'd be nice to find a squad full of Santi Carola's - playing for minimum contract at his first club, just got them promoted back to La Liga.Β

Nice it would be. Perhaps Wharton will come back one day!

Hypothetically speaking just imagine if someone - in return for running the ship from the shadows or an initial stake or even a contract that is impossible to break without a massive payout - was entitled to just 5 or 10% of every buy or sale deal.

That might not sound much but over 15 years it's a very handsome return and the kind of investment or involvement a very crafty clever snake would include in their deal with clueless mega rich new ownership.

Remember how they were all in bed together at first and under scrutiny in the early days the Matriarch said 'Jerome's role will diminish as time goes by' she didn't say his involvement would end.

There may well be a 5th member around that farmhouse kitchen table when dealing with Rovers. A member perhaps represented on the board by a duel agent who's worked for both companies.

The sheer number of players who are seeing out their contracts here now is also interesting when considering this.

Hypothetically, that makes sense.Β

Never forgive that loathsome individual for trying to sell off half of Brockhall.

Despite the fact he really wanted another year He's probably thinking he got out at more or less the right time.

Having made sure he topped up his bank balance first of course.

Sounds promising.

This bloke, low grade foreign punts, Forshaw, we've given up any pretence of wanting to do well now haven't we?

Accelerating hard towards the precipice.

How did bankrupt them when he wasn't the owner? Ellis Short had decided not to invest another penny anymore.Β

Venkys will know Bain from his time as CEO of Indian Super LeagueΒ Β

The job is just administrative role at best with very little power to make key decisionsΒ

Lol.

"All good. Nothing to see here."

Was he involved in those fly on the wall documentaries?

Yes, hence the David Brent jokes.

He seemed ok in the Docu but if you look at what he actually did as CEO he was a disaster. He kept offering ridiculous wages with no relegation clauses, continued to spend despite the reduction in revenue to Championship, appointed Grayson who was a disaster, and in general was more concerned with lining his own pockets and living the fancy CEO life than actually doing his job.

The guy at Sunderland employed Grayson and allowed him to sign Steele from us AND pay money.

I don't care where Steele is now he was rubbish at the time and poor for them as well in league 1.

This fella as their CEO presided over possibly the worst era in their modern history but once he'd gone they started climbing back. He'll fit the mould well here as they continue managed decline under the Barnsley model gearing us for league 1.

Thanks. I've never seen the Sunderland Documentaries.Β

Sounds like now might be the time to do it.

Won’t have that issue here with the 10k cap so we can rule that scenario outΒ

Chaddy, do you genuinely think the CEO of a club has little to no say in decision making? If that was the case, clubs wouldn't ever hire them.

I'm happy to defend your point of view of a lot of matters where you get crap for it here, especially in relation to people judging players before they have kicked a ball, but please don't make things up to sugarcoat a potentially incredibly bad decision by the club.

I believe the phrase is, "Champagne tastes, Brown-Ale pockets"

Also known as 'Deluded as fuck' / 'In need of a good kicking' / 'Waste of space'

About time we started Rovers 1875 between us, as a consortium of ex-players and using a fan subscription basis for funding, and applied for entry into as high a league as we could (hell we could even apply for Blackburn Combination if it meant we could eventually overtake the wastrels and restore the reputation of our town as a footballing tour de force.

VENKYS OUT!Β

Noticed the teaser for our story was next to a Sunderland one. Perhaps they can have our last CEO, he'll buy-lease them a brand-as-new coach then realise that's not what the issue is.Β
