Nixon thinks he will take a new role at Rovers and not necessarily leave.ย

IMG_2378.png

Wonder if it will be as Stuart Jones replacement, essentially as "loan manager"?ย

Rovers have been advertising for the role, Lowe has worked with younger players as head of youth in the past & current day Rovers love an internal promotion

venkys will sell anyone for a quick rupee

Unless they've changed approach, history shows this isn't true - not unless their valuation is reached. There's countless posts about players who left for free under their tenure when offers were widely reported to have been received.ย

Where are we at withย Brian De Keersmaecker? Anyone seen him play outside of those Youtube highlight packages? Probably not...

Personally I'm itching for a centre-back and word online seems to be that we're linked withย Steve Kapuadi.

mustapha bundu leaving plymouth after refusing new contract,we should be all over that imo

We aren't in the market for free agents due to signing on fee/wage demands.

Both look to have decent pedigree compared to our first two signings, which tells me they probably won't happen.

This is what dutch speaking fans are saying:

Screenshotfrom2025-06-2502-48-46.png.7d3b13d422a65955538dd362b5889a47.png

'4.5 million and they can have him'

'Sounds like a great move for the club but less so for Brian, who really wants to play European.'

It doesn't seem likely if both those things are true, not to mention the article the rumor is from's top comment is making fun of the publication for their inaccuracy in reporting with transfer dealing with this very player.

Screenshotfrom2025-06-2502-53-55.png.7e79f3b61709ee907ea9f16f2cd2f1f6.png

'โ€œDe Keersmaecker saw a transfer to FC Midtjylland in January,โ€

nice work again VP.'

I seriously doubt it's going to happen now, I'll look into Kapuadi later.ย

Well we might be.....

ย

if they are a free agent after leaving a Scottish League 2 team ๐Ÿ˜‰ย

Gestede specifically mentioned free agents when he talked about plans this summer. But especially with domestic based ones, I am guessing the financials have proved too much (signing on fees and wages) on our budget.

I think he was referring to all of the free agents that would be leaving Rovers...

I know he was here before Waggott ๐Ÿ™„ but I'm saying its odd he always survived especially given our turnover in backroom staff.ย

It's no surprise, none at all, that you'd think it was completely normal.

Maybe people like Mowbray and JDT actually rated him.ย

Johnson and Benson also

And Forshaw x2.

Now the other 2 aren't desperate they are in demand so they'll go where the biggest pay is, naturally.

Batth's stock wasn't high after his stint at Norwich, he wasn't even getting a game when they had multiple injuries at the back. Probably why he accepted a 1 year deal then but wants a 2 year deal now that others might be interested.

You don't half talk some crap Chaddy.

Other than Rovers, who the feck wanted Forshaw!?!?ย  A pure desperate signing.

Clearly, Batth and Weimann have known about the Derby deal for some time and so will have other clubs who may or may not have spoken with them.ย  Nicko does not know everything that goes on in the football world and you know even less.

If you're going to be so contrary in your desperation to defend everything the Club does it's maybe worth pointing out that Batth and Weimann are wanted by at least 2 Clubs, (Derby and us)

We've just signed a player only in demand by one Club, us, inย  Forshaw.

Didn't see you scoffing when Forshaw re-signed. You've been effectively endorsing the signing by reproducing previous comments VI made about him.

Edit: See Tomphil and Mercer beat me to it.

Plymouth, who were relegated, didn't even want him. They literally gave him to us.

How do you even know that ?

You don't.

Besides it's TWO clubs.....

Lads don't speak like that! You'll be on ignore for disagreeing with Chaddys views that follow everything the club do

Pretty quiet at the minute, any chance of an @unleadedย update?ย ๐Ÿ‘€

Quiet and depressing.

Seen reported half a dozen or so Academy lads training with 1st team - Ismael must be gutted.

Scores on the doors from last season:

'Gone': Dolan, Batth, Weimann, Beck, ACD (5)

'Going': Travis (90% probability), Brittain (90% probability) and Tronstad & Hyam (50/50)

In: De Neve, Tavares (2)

So that's 5 seniors (4 of which good/steady Championship performers) out the door with another 4 in the 'revolving door'.

Neither of our 2 signings have pulled up trees at their previous clubs and highly unlikely to hit the ground running - 2 big risks.ย

To coin an advertising slogan - 'the future's bleak, the future's black' !

I honestly prefer it to be quiet until we actually sign players when their merits can be discussed. I really don't like transfer windows purely because of the oneupmanship and bickering even the most tenuous link can bring.ย

Roll on the end of August.
