Just watched a YouTube clip (i know), his year in review 2024, its actually frightening, just gives the ball away almost every attack 🀣

Assuming any of these assumptions regarding him being in Manchester mean that we are signing him. Might depend on the circumstances.

If he is a cheap permanent deal alongside a more proven wide man, a development project, can see some logic.

If he is the only winger coming in and its him, Kargbo, De Neve and Hedges, its purely to build as cheap a squad as possible.Β

If hes on loan like he was last season, pointless.

Apparently a loan to buy option..something I’m not against personally as the option is there

As for his ability I’m not one for commenting on YouTube clips tbh we shall see but I still think we need a couple more proven/experienced players inΒ

and of course the contract situations with the three players for me that’s most important of the lotΒ

Ok well remember that when others cast their concerns why we aren’t signing exactly what you have preferred - don’t come on calling them out it’s just their preference - it’s also a doubtΒ

I agree we need some experience in the squad but there is nothing wrong with some signings from league 1 or overseas. Balance approachΒ

Why would we be signing another winger if this guy is sign? Surely 4 is enough?Β

Coming up through the ranks behind them are Stritch, Doherty and Mafoumbi - wingers who could barely muster 5 goals in the U21's season. They're young and may well improve but the standard is really looking weak. The new crop from U18s will come in too but, to my mind, the club had/have to invest in recruits specifically at U21 level to improve the standard. That said, Doherty and Mafoumbi were recruits, along with goalie, Barrett, last season.

Where is the loan to buy bit from?

Surely he wouldnt cost much to buy. Loan screams barely plays and is never seen again.

Seen it mentioned on Twitter….could be nonsense could be true likely find out tomorrowΒ

Been here before….if he didn’t know that’s on him should have done better researchΒ

possibly, our esteemed owners more than likely told him a pocketful of lies about a substancial budget, they`ve kind of got form for it😰

At least three of them have some pace. Would be a big change for us, we're usually so pedestrian.Β

Your last line is why I have little to no sympathy…they have form for it managers/agents talk he would have or should have known. Unemployed now getting paidΒ

Feck me, it's even worse than I thought.

The bottom of the barrel has now been scraped off!!!

IMO, the signing of cheap, unproven and little known players like De Neve, Tavares andΒ Al-Sahafi (if correct) is virtually consigning us to a fight for survival from the 1st game of the season.

These sort of signings will do nothing to convince the likes of Brittain, Tavis and Tronstad that we are a club going places and therefore a club to commit their future to.

That's on himself TBF.

It's obvious that something is going on when the last two guys in charge engineered a move elsewhere within 12 months of each other.

I don't think it will be long before he does the same.

Its not just about having 2 warm bodies per position, we need sufficient quality. You concede that Al-Sahafi would be a risk.

Out wide has been a weak position for a while and was an area we really needed to strengthen this summer. Im not saying either this Al-Sahafi (if there is truth in the rumour) or De Neve don't have ability and wont do well in time, but they are cheap, young punts and replace our only proven and competent winger.

Al-Sahafi - his only football at a reasonable standard was half a season at a Belgian club that got relegated. He is 21 and would need time to settle.Β

De Neve - quite young, has barely any goals or assists to his name, again relegated from the Belgian league and has often played at left back.

Kargbo - barely been seen, but again we dont know what we have with him. Appears raw.Β

Hedges - offers a similar attacking threat to Toth

Thats not a set of wingers that would give me any sort of excitement or confidence. It would put untold pressure on the 2 newbies (one who has very little senior experience) settling into the country to hit the ground running. And it would inevitably mean that Hedges who even as his biggest fan you concede should just be a squad player will play week in week out.

Get a Gassama or whatever on top of these and at least you could have some confidence in someone who has shown that he can perform well at this level. Putting less reliance on the cheap punts. I mean, we do have the Nixon warchest, right?

If there is any truth to Al-Sahafi. He was part of the Saudi Arabia squad at the Gold Cup until the 29th June so presumably his pre season involvement would be limited due to a potential holiday.
