Would be a sensible signing. We need a couple of experienced championship players after losing Batth and Weimann. He'd fit the bill and was an ever present last season.You can always tell a lot from the reaction of fans - and their fans don't want to lose him.

I wouldn't be totally surprised if we're still looking to add another CB in addition to this (if this story is true!). I could see Wharton moving out on loan later in the window. He needs regular game time and probably isn't a starter at the moment.

Something doesn't add up with McLoughlin... Hull are under an embargo so need to keep every player they can because they can't replace them.

With all the overseas targets McLoughlin seems like a sensible recruit. Experienced at this level and regularly carries the armband for Hull.

Agree with others that it’s strange they are happy to let him leave in their current predicament. Unless they are cash strapped and need money to pay transfer instalments/ salaries

The majority of his stories on us have been shocking so you maybe right. 
 

At a normal club I get this signing, but it's raising eyebrows that we are spending a fee on a soon to be 29 year old - Albeit it's not that old for CB.

I can't see a club letting that happen.

Selling players, just to pay the costs of running the club, surely not.

The owner most likely wants to claw back as much money as he can before administration and doesn't give a jot about how the team performs next season.

They will surely fill one of the relegation slots next season, along with Sheff W. I don't even wanna think who may be joining them!

Could be a similar scenario to when Coventry needed to sell Hyam....but having said that with Hull being under embargo you'd think they need to keep hold of all the players they can.

The more you read about this lad the more exciting he gets. It would be typical rovers if this falls through due to an injury. 
 

Why don't we try a loan first with option to buy, that way we get an insight on how bad his injury is effects his progression.

I'd get underwhelming perhaps if you said that or something similar, terrible is a strong word.

Profile wise, good age, experienced but not over the hill, he is left footed, he hasnt ever stood out but he is a centre back playing for Hull and I have never seen him and thought he is a disaster either or a mistake waiting to happen. Hull fans in the main seem like they would rather not sell. All of our other signings have never played at this level before, he has plenty of times and could help to slightly fill the void of experience leaving.

Probably not true as the source is dodgy and advanced talks means little with us anyway, but still.

Honestly, the griping, & constant negativity gets old.

Doing "what they can?"

Is the "negativity" not understandable? We havent improved our attack which badly needs it, we have lost our best CB and currently only have one fully fit one, we have lost Dolan, lost Weimann, Brittain wants out, no contracts signed. Doesnt seem unreasonable.

Yeah that's another reason I just don't believe it.

I don't believe we will pay a fee for someone who is 29 in a few months.

I also don't believe we will give someone of that age a 3/4 year deal which he would no doubt want.
