No point praising how good some of our younger players are when the Premier Leaguee sharks are always circling.

We get excited at the prospect, then they're off.

That lopsided BS needs fixed.Β  I do not even know if it benefits Prem clubs since most of these young uns end up nowhere near the limelight.Β  It needs fixed, I think, because as it stands it hurts smaller clubs and young players.

I don't think anyone can on the one hand complain that the bar has been lowered on signings, then go mad about releasing Batth and Weimann.

It shouldn't be beyond any decent recruitment department to fill those two spots with players of equal/better quality.Β

We didn't release them. We lost them.

Am I missing obvious sarcasm? People don't actually think that X clip is a footballer arriving do they 🀣 nevermind Pickering.

Pickering is a good pro but a squad player at best. If you can get a half decent fee, he's worth moving on IMO.Β

It’s as well de neve isn’t the weimann replacement and is the Owen beck replacement thenΒ

De Neve signed as a winger (where he played mostly for his last club) who can also play wing back.

Anyhow, the key point is, if he hasn't been signed as Weimann's direct replacement, we have neither replaced Batth nor Weimann yet and bear in mind Batth was an outstanding performer for us last season and Weimann had excellent impact and delivered when we needed it with both goals and assists.

Age is irrelevant - it's the quality and ability to perform - Cowans, Moran, Gale etc and presently for other clubs Messi (38), Ronaldo (40), Modric (39) etc

Again, why is it preferable to 'develop' 'young players', and in doing so likely sacrifice results, over immediate results which we were getting last season under Eustace and which should have taken us into the play-offs?

Who wins from the strategy you are so happy with?

Rovers? No chance. We sacrifice immediate results under the pretence of a longer term plan. When did we last benefit - really benefit - from a player sale?

The Wharton emergence and sale should have been our golden lottery ticket - once in a generation. And where did we get with that one? Plenty of tweets and back slapping among Rovers and the support base about 'one of our own' but naff all to actually show for it, unless you count remaining in business as being something worth boasting about.Β

Gestede benefits because he can claim we are 1 window into a 4,5,6 window process which secures him 3-4 years of employment.Β

Venkys benefit because it saves them yet more money.

Pasha stooge benefits because if one or two of these players come good and we sell them, even if its for a small fee, it is all profit and he can get a pat on the back from the money men in India.

It's embarrassing that this still needs explaining to people.Β

This has been going on for how many years now?

They weren't ours to lose, they were out of contract.Β
