I would be really inclined to put my trust in Yuki and big Mak who I think will get better after a year in the league and a full preseason. ย Still think to cover an injury or just lack of form we would need another striker it could be one of those that itโs not a main priority yet and could b something they look at again in Janย 2 Quote

Not sure Big Mak fits the style we are looking at tbh. Probably need to be looking for a hardworking striker with a bit of pace, who can press the centre backs quicker.ย 3 Quote

Tim Southampton Rover Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago At this stage of his career, due to his past injuries, I think Leonard needs to go on loan at a club that will guarantee him games each week - even if that is as low as League Two or the National League. He's too far behind Ohashi and Gueye at the moment to be getting regular 90 minutes. He doesn't need to go out and prove anything, as we know he's capable of playing in the Championship, but he just needs constant games and momentum. Getting quite a few goals would be a bonus in my view just for his confidence. 5 Quote

philipl Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Surprised no stories about Brittain- pleasantly surprised. Here's hoping Pape, Ohashi, Leonard and Tyjon all kick on this season as I cannot see the piggy bank stretching to a decent forward even if one or more of Brittain, Tronstad and Travis depart. neophox Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Sean McLaughlin a steady centre half in his prime... hopefully he scores some headers ..he didn't score any for Hull. Quote

He played a great weight pass for Ohashi's winner at Luton last season. Plus he has been regular under the previous 2 head coaches and Ismael wanted him to stay this season.ย we were short in midfield last season cos when injuries hit and we lost Baker aswell, we were short. We need 5 options in there and right now we have this Still need in terms of players in, right sided attacking player, another forward and centre back. if we made those 3 signings, we have 25/26 man squad Disagree. We might have 5 centre midfielders but the quality once you move past Travis and Tronstad is very questionable. I can live with Forshaw as 5th choice but Buckley needs to be sold. He's not a VI type player - sell him and bring one more in. 2 Quote

Eustace used him on the bench but don't think he came on. Must be frustrating for a player not getting game time.ย Edited 4 hours ago by Cherry Blue Quote

I also think thereโs a chance that Big Mak is less suited to VIโs way of playing tooโฆ But, I would prefer to spend the money elsewhere. I think Yuki and Big Mak are both capable of getting double figures this season and 20-30 goals between them is solid. Tyrone Shoelaces Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) 2 hours ago, neophox said: Batth will be 35 in septemberย The trouble with players of that age is you can โ go โ at any time. I remember reading an autobiography by a famous England player. He said he was playing great in the Home Internationals that used to be played towards the end of the season but when he returned for training at his club in late July he could feel heโd lost a yard of pace. ย Instead of gathering the ball in his stride he felt he was reaching for the ball all the time.
