Mercer Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Great opportunity for Dolan to measure just how good he is (in reality rather than in his head!). Personally, I think he'll come up short with his lack of pace and football intelligence. Don't blame him one iota for what's happened and the position he found himself in with Rovers.Β If he looks after both himself and his money, he's probably gone a long way to setting himself up for life. Buena suerte y adios ! 3 Quote
Paul Mani Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Brilliant move for TD. Heβs obviously a great lad and what an opportunity to be the player he believes he can be and to experience another culture. After watching him play 100 times at least, no one can convince me that heβs anything other than a mid championship plodder. But as Iβve said before, Iβd be delighted to be wrong this time. Time to step up Ty, no hiding out there, the white hankyβs will be out before Halloween!! π» 2 Quote
harryhealless1928 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago You are bang on, Mercer! Cannot fault anyone for severe ambition(especially a footballer).Β No one covered the hard yards better than Dolan. The best back-tracking winger we have seen at Ewood since Ripley(IMHO). Not great going forward, but NEVER went missing which is easy for a wide player. His ambition far outweighs his quality, but that is to his credit he makes the most out of what he has got! 4 Quote

Dreams of 1995 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago As good a move as Dolan could make. Espanyol are no great shakes, but at least it is a top league. He wouldn't have cut the mustard in the Premier League so La Liga is a good alternative Quote

There was great crowing about Brereton-Diaz when he signed for that Spanish team - they couldn't ship him out quick enough once they saw him in training.Β 3 Quote
Popular Post Devon Rover Posted 16 hours ago Popular Post Posted 16 hours ago Well, I hope Dolan does brilliantly over there and looks back fondly on his time at Rovers as being fundamental in his development.Β He probably needed to move on to push his career on as his development had probably stalled/was stalling. Was he ever a top class player for us? No, certainly not for any extended period. But have we been a top team packed with quality to bring out the very best in each player, over that same period? Of course not.Β Despite some of the things he did on the pitch that frustrated the hell out of me, he has consistently been, for several years, a grafter and someone who seemed to give his all for this club, including keeping himself fit, injury free, and willing to try things (whatever the outcome). I'd thank him for that if I saw him at Ewood some day in the future.Β My eight-year-old son is really upset by his departure as Tyrhys was his hero. Partly because of the energy he showed on the pitch whenever we went to watch Rovers, but also because he was so patient and kind with young Rovers fans, like my boy, when he met them. So I'll choose to remember the good parts, of which there were many more with Dolan than with the majority of those who have "represented" the blue and white halves over the last decade or so. I'm encouraging my son to do the same. And to wish Dolan well with his move, which he has earned with his efforts and his perseverance. 13 Quote

He's a limited player who would have struggled in the Premier League but I think he could do OK over in Spain, particularly against the lesser teams. I don't blame anyone for wanting to leave Rovers tbh. If we're brutally honest, it's been turned into an average, poorly run championship club with no ambition other than to develop young players. The wages are on the lower side too for a team in this division.Β The only way out of it is promotion. Quote

Odds are he makes a lot of mistakes this season as he develops and all we would do is develop them for him for no extra money. I think he's class in the making, we'd have a better chance of a top 6 finish, if we could keep him for a season. Quote

roverandout Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Imagine if Dolan is a huge success at espanyol and he gets a move to real madrid or Barcelona in 2 years. I think we'll be looking back at it gutted.Β Who'd have thought Steven nzonzi would play for FranceΒ 1 Quote

Just the latest narrative created to suit across social media to cover the disappointment of yet another asset bailing for nowt. People forget the original contract talks with Broughton actually stalled because he had no agent at the time.Β All that was true and he wanted to sort a new one obviously before contract talks. No doubt it's a straight toss up between the new ones coming in and saying this kid has been playing for peanuts so we want a good rise and security or as is highly likely things just got shelved and never picked up again until it was too late. roversfan99 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago I dont think many if any have said that he will take La Liga by storm. Thats a different argument. People suggested that he had made a mistake led by his and his agents ego because he didnt instantly sign for someone. Hes landed in La Liga before the end of July. Even had he signed for another Championship club on a more reasonable wage, that would have justified his decision. But this certainly does. Either way, its our loss. We need a right winger in now otherwise its just the Hedges without instagram. Quote
