What sort of thrill does he get out of pretending to have a mystery transfer source.

Tbh it seems every summer window and Jan window all clubs have them

think it’s just to feel acknowledged a craving for attention. Sad really

Well the Online Safety Act means people have to find new things to have a wank to.

Gave you exit list this morning and when,

Totally unsurprised by admission from Val tonight.

Don't tend to bother with the transfer stuff these days, but I stand by list

You have history and connections it’s not aimed towards you. It’s in general at all clubs you only need to go on Twitter or message boards and see the amount of posters stating information it’s crazy

as for your list Iv been saying the same people myself for couple of weeks now bar cantwell I just don’t see him leaving

Travis will be the one he’s the most wanted and has value - at a well run club you hold out for 4/5million for your club captain regardless of contract status but I can see him going for 3

I wouldn’t exactly say that. But I thought he did well enough, as did Miller.

Exactly why I don't bother with transfers, too time consuming and too many sceptics,  not worth indigestion. So better to let it plsy out.

I watched the whole game , its about opinions,  no right , no wrong.

Wife and I personally thought he wasn't great at all. Some think he was man of the match, others he did well, others he wasn't great. Beauty of football,  we all think n see things differently

He was brought in by Rudy from the scrap heap and now has 3 years still on his contract. Big Val will tow the party line a bit longer IMO.

Until mid Jan 26, then he will be off.

There is a more cynical approach, the club is set up to fail, the fans will go for the manager first, when it really should be Venkys, Pasha and the apprentice tea boy...

The fans force VI out, takes the pressure of the stooges, rinse & repeat.

How far down the leagues do we go?

Well he's obviously been signed as a first team player, so will be judged by first team standards.

That said it's impossible to judge a player off a single competitive game.

I do think a switch to 343 is coming though. I dont think we have the right players for 4231.

First competitive game maybe but last week he was also absolutely abysmal, I'm talking basic football skills completely lacking. One of his free kicks was so bad it's hard to believe he wasn't under the influence.

He never responds to you if you call him out either, very odd bloke. Mind you Mercer does similar on here too and I suspect he's a lot older and should be wiser

Won a few 1 on 1 duels, looks tall and athletic. Promising.

My response was to a poster who said " Ryan Alebiosu shouldn't be near the team either"

Do you agree? Otherwise not sure why you've quoted me?

On the balanced he was comfortably one of the better performers for us (there weren't many).

I quoted you because you stated perfect example of someone who hadn't watched game on their opinion. Mine wasn't too far off his and I did watch it. So was pointing out just because your opinion is different it doesn't make someone else's wrong

He was solid. Nothing special but out performed his role beyond others in their positions. Second half he made 2 good interceptions stopping them on the break.

Feels like our 'squad building' has been more about putting out fires than trying to strengthen areas that needs improvement:

- Batth went so we signed McLoughlin (even if the club won't admit it)

- JRC got sold and we brought in Alebiosu (perhaps a slight improvement and I guess it was part of the transfer plan as well)

- Brittain got sold and we brought in Miller (pretty damn obvious this was a contingency plan they had in place which got immediately triggered once the bid for Brittain was accepted; a downgrade from the perspective of offensive contributions)

- Weimann left so we signed Henriksson (time will tell if this is an upgrade or not)

- Signed De Neve to provide competion at left wing position with Kargbo (worried that this is a "Hedges-type" signing who works hard and tracks back but lacks an end product; cheap signing but not an upgrade for the team)

- Signed Tavares to provide competition for central midfield spots (probably the only real upgrade to the side once he gets match fit since I suspect he will be a replacement for Buckley)

Here's what I think the squad planning has gone wrong though:

- We had more than 30 days to sign a replacement for Dolan on the right wing before the opening game but failed to do so, leaving Hedges as the only option.

- We have failed to sign a proper striker to compete with Gueye

- We have failed to realise that Ohashi can't operate as a lone striker as he's a) not quick enough and b) doesn't have the physicality to compete with Championship defenders

- Had we signed a proper striker, it would have made sense to move Ohashi to an attacking midfield role instead and compete with Cantwell

We are short of options up front and on the right hand side which must be resolved before window closes. Getting a striker in now will not be easy; we might have to consider loaning in someone from a PL side.

- William Osula (Newcastle): quite pacey, 6'3 striker who had limited gametime last season. Bought for big money from Sheffield Utd. a couple of seasons ago. Needs a loan to develop. Newcastle will likely not sanction a move before they have gotten replacements in for Wilson and (probably) Isak.

- Chido Obi (Man Utd); probably needs a loan move now that they signed Sesko.

- Grady Diangana (free); released by WBA, decent right winger and probably an upgrade on Dolan in terms of goals/assists. Has English citizenship so no issue regarding ESC-spots. Decent resale value as well given he's 27 years old.

I thought he was shit. Give it a few months and that'll be the consensus on here. Bookmark this comment.

De Neve is shite.

No wonder Valerian is raging.

New signing and taking him off at half time.

He took him off at half time presumably due to the head injury he suffered.

Based on what I have seen today I reckon this could work better for us...

                           Toth

         Miller.      Hyam.    McCloughlin

Alebiouso.  Travis.   Tronstad.    De Neve

       Cantwell.    Ohashi.    Kargbo

Early days but Millar looks ideal for a RCB in a back three.

About 10 goals across the season in that 11.
8 defensive players and nobody to lead the line

Think biggest issue with these wholesale changes is we finished 7th last season. Anything less this season and we've gone backwards. Its still a results business, and this aint the Brentford model that has been claimed before.

They buy players for the future as does Brighton., they dont just throw them in for sink or swim.

We need some championship experience or its gonna be a painful first half of the season until these learn on job.

Apparently the cut is so bad he is a doubt for next Saturday, never mind continuing at the Hawthorns.

Big Question is what the WBA defender did to him in what should have been an innocuous challenge.

Is Ismael counting Buckley and Pears when he is saying one more and replacements??? If Travis also goes that is four more signings to come and boy do we need better than the signings so far this window.
