Leaves space for a back-up goalie hopefully, another striker and a couple more if they really want. (Happy to amend if any info is not correct) Technically also Barrett, Pratt & Garrett, but they are all unlikely to be registered.Β So think 21 is correct Edited 3 hours ago by KentExile 1 Quote

The job he did at Derby to keep them up was very, very impressive. The job he was doing at Birmingham was impressive. You are basically admitting that you are allowing feelings around his departure to cloud your judgement. I have given a firm answer. Eustace 100% I would prefer over Ismael. I am guessing I will not receive the courtesy of a straight answer from you. For me right now I prefer IsmaΓ«l. Why? Eustace was for the here and now, yes it worked to a degree, yes you earn your luck but I felt he had some lucky wins last season. Β IsmaΓ«l is looking to play a more attacking style with players of a better age, Ok we've lost Dolan but we've brought in money with other sales and replaced with players with good potential ceilings. I certainly haven't seen it confirmed or denied anywhere. Nixon insisted he needed an operation for a stress fracture and its been taken as gospel. He played for his 'old' team the other week. It might be a case of playing him and seeing how he gets on, it certainly isn't a serious injury and one that could most probably be managed. Unless Nixon has very good contacts within our medical setup and has had it confirmed, possible I suppose. Quote

Β IsmaΓ«l is looking to play a more attacking style with players of a better age, Ok we've lost Dolan but we've brought in money with other sales and replaced with players with good potential ceilings. Building for the future.Β Sometimes I find it hard to believe that any Rovers fan can have confidence in 'building for the future' under this regime.Β Yes Eustace was for the here and now - he's a Championship manager who on average might get a couple of years to deliver and that's what any manager should be judged on - immediate results and league position. He found a way of delivering play-off form over 7 months on a shoestring after selling Szmodics.Β Whatever it is we are doing now it will have to be a total masterstroke to eclipse the results and league position Eustace was providing us with.Β Fortunately for those running the show they aren't employed to get us promoted, and aren't employed based on league position, so provided we can scrape our way to 50 points they will be quite comfortable. We are now embarking on a few years of the gravy train road to nowhere as they 'build' - but they didn't need to build - if they'd have kept what we had we would have been very well placed for promotion last season.Β How on earth anyone can say this club is building for the future in a summer where we've watched basically the entire spine of the team walk out the door as a direct result of a negligent failed approach to contract renewals baffles me.Β This is just life in the Venky cycle - someone else gets their foot in the door and oversees another rebuild, and then in a couple of years they'll have left or the owners will have changed track again. It never ends. Yet because we've got a revolving door of players people get giddy and think there's some grand plan or ambition.Β Β 3 Quote

In the first 2 games we created very few chances and we didnt create any more under him last season. In my opinion part of the reason for that was we were playing with two water carriers in central midfield. Neither of them are particularly good at getting up to and beyond the forwards. There were times when we were playing with a back 7 if you include the goalkeeper. With Cantwell also playing deeper that left the forward 3 players to do a hell of a lot ! I think Ismael realised early on that if we were going to score more goals at least one of the central midfield players needed to be able to get forward more and link up forward play and join in with attacks. If that is his thinking I agree with him. 3 1 Quote

Now predictably the same with Eustace. Will also only judge on results but still prefers Ismael because specfically he likes what he says in the media. Yes you find things or situations that only come out after they left, like Eustace over the Derby's approach or the fact he lied to the Rovers fans. You might be comfortable with that but I ain't.Β I like Ismael cos he told the supporters about the Brittain and Travis the truth, you might see it as throwing Travis under the bus but I don't think he ever did, he told the truth and as supporters that all you asked for. For some unknown reason, he don't agree and think supporters shouldn't be told the truth 8 hours ago, roversfan99 said: Ismael has been very consistent in saying that we wanted one more, before sales, a right winger. Therefore I was always reasonably confident that we would get one. I am not sure if this new lad is specifically a right winger but he is an exciting addition to our attack and I am assuming that he is the winger/the 1 attacker before sales that we anticipated. We absolutely desperately need a striker but its never been mentioned by Ismael and it doesnt really align with any of the potential exits that now seemingly needs to happen. Its also hard to read into exactly what the policy is. Travis is leaving, was Baradji considered to be his replacement or was he a seperate case having initially failed a medical? Buckley was frozen out, will he be considered as someone who needs to be replacing? Will Pears? Leonard didnt even go away on tour, does he need replacing? Does the 1 in 1 out policy mean only direct replacements positionally? Could shifting a few mean that a striker is possible simply because the budget has been shifted about? I am not convinced by the likelihood of this transfer link. No way are we coming close to the fee suggested, and he seems to be strongly linked elsewhere, albeit at a much lower amount. But either way, it is of paramount importance that we bring in a striker. Its hard to predict exactly what will happen. Buckley, Leonard and Pears are all on the wage bill and we need to move on them otherwise we are going to either bring them in the fold or stick them in under 23's whilst still paying them.Β Also I think Rovers higher management/owners are allowing Gestede, Owen and Ismael to spend more than the original budget was. It was suggested the original budget was Β£5m but so far we spend around Β£7.5m with more set to spend. Yes they will be outgoing so more cash will be generate by the Travis sale, Buckley sale and possible others.Β Quote
