On recent years' form, Hedges can be comfortably discounted now for a couple of seasons, in terms of any attacking contribution. If you are reading this, Ryan, prove us wrong πŸ˜‰Β All we want is for our players to give everything on the pitch, and to be good at what they are paid to do, with reasonable consistency. After all, the mighty Mr Shearer didn't score every week, did he? But we always knew we would get a shift from him, regardless of the opposition.

Anyway, I suppose the upshot is we are beginning to now have options where there were none, which moves us a lot further on than many had anticipated for this season (including me)! I'm not getting optimistic and misty-eyed yet though, as it is a long hard slog in this league, and some of our new recruits are in for a nasty shock!

On that front, what the actual fook is going on with the Yuki-bashing this season? Refs seem to think it is ok to have open-season on him, including (on Saturday) getting kicked in the chest without there being the slightest chance of a foul being awarded. VI needs to school him in the dark arts and get some of these cynical cloggers called to account for their bully-boy tactics with our Oriental maestro (maestroes now, I guess).

Watching on with interest...

COYB!

It was the same with Gueye in the WBA game, he was effectively refferreed Β out of the match.

Eustace wasn’t sacked, he decided to leave. Clearly he saw the writing on the wall over the summer regarding contracts expiring etc and recruitment going in a different direction.Β

BTW, I noticed Batth, Sanderson, Nyambe and Weimann all started for Derby at the weekend. If that was us, I’d be fuming.

Β

Much as Β I liked Nyambe as a defender anybody who thinks he should be playing as a wing back needs to give their head a wobble.

Yes you find things or situations that only come out after they left, like Eustace over the Derby's approach or the fact he lied to the Rovers fans. You might be comfortable with that but I ain't.Β

Also I think Rovers higher management/owners are allowing Gestede, Owen and Ismael to spend more than the original budget was. It was suggested the original budget was Β£5m but so far we spend around Β£7.5m with more set to spend. Yes they will be outgoing so more cash will be generate by the Travis sale, Buckley sale and possible others.Β

IMO, the Raos, Pasha, Waggott and Gestede have all been economical with the facts.Β  Preumably, you feel very uncomfortable about that?Β  Perhaps Ismael could also become a voluntary lay preacher!?

I would dispute we have spent anywhere near Β£7.5m.Β  I think fees for players signed have been over-hyped for the consumption of those in our fan base who are highly gullible.Β  I would put fees paid in the Β£4 to 5million range with a further Β£2 to 3million due when we win the PL!!!

The fact is fees for departing players Brittain, Travis, JRC, Buckley and Dolan (compo) will almost certainly exceed the fees paid for our incomings.

I think the reality is we have spent nothing, in fact we are in the black on fees and you can add to that some add-ons from past sales.

I suspect if our budget is Β£5million, there may well be some hefty bonuses to be paid due to a substantial saving on that budget!

Of course the only way round this is to scrap all this 'undisclosed fee' crap, report both the actual fee, potential add-ons and the fee paid to agents for every transaction.Β  That would give you the openness, transparency and honesty that seems to excite you.Β

You can dispute all the fees you want Mercer.Β

Morishita fee was reported as Β£2m from the Polish journalist. Tavares fee is up to Β£2m based on Alan NixonΒ

The 5m budget for transfer come from Kidder Noise podcast where it is discussed as part of fans forum minutes. Questions were asked also about increase that budget from players sales with some of it being available to spent, I think that what we are seeing and they are backing Gestede and Ismael more this summer than last season.Β

aren't we spending money this window? Β£7.5m spent and possible more so. This summer we seem to back Ismael with money but also permanent signings. Gestede, Owen and Ismael are all aligned and thinking the same way but they appears to be allowing to spend more money than we have done since the Mowbray spending on BBD and Armstrong

All offset by the outgoings of Trav, Brittain, JRC and then the likely departures of Pears and Buckley.Β

Have we still got a ESC space left?

Afimico Pululu is a name that keeps cropping up.Β

Club is looking to sell as he won’t sign a new deal - wouldn’t cost 5 million either πŸ˜†

Something like this is what the last ESC spot should have been used for, a potential game changer,

Not someone who will probably take until Christmas to get up and running.

If we were creative surely we could have signed Baradji, sent him for his op while keeping him on loan at his current club until January, he then would have been fit and raring to go as a January signing.

Just having a think about this.Β  Pululu plays in Poland (finishing 2 places above Legia last season) & was involved in the Conference League up until the quarter finals last season, same as Morishita.

Does that mean that Pululu would qualify for a standard GBE too?Β  Pululu must have a similar points total (minus the National team ones).Β  Possibly hangs on his % of minutes played at both domestic & continental level, &the whole idea depends on if the GBE expert knows his stuff, but looks possible

If you listened to Kidder Noise podcast, you would have heard that we don't reinvest fee's received by Rovers hence why that questioned was asked to Rovers management during the last fan forum. They have a budget and that's it. I think we are seeing a change. I could be wrong

Hmmm maybe.

Going off this link -Β https://www.transferroom.com/gbe#calculatorΒ he would go to the exceptions panel.

That website only has Morishita passing by 3 points too rather than 9, the difference being the International appearances.Β

Thanks..

So Myles Anderson's Unleash the Player Ltd is indeed an agency..

He seems to be involved in some sort of counselling programmes for players who have fallen on hard times.

A sort of situation, where players for example have been involved with premier league teams, but then been let go and tumbled down the rankings and found themselves totally out of football, or at teams a lot further down the pyramid.Β

I remember his Dad saying he was good enough for most premier league teams, other than the top four, so maybe that has stood him in good stead, for his current role.

If "they" are still involved / increasing their involvement here again, I guess Rovers won't be the only club? Is there a chain of several clubs?Β

I guess it will be a bit like those diagrams of rock music family trees!

Weirdly, it "appears" that some of the recent signings might be ok. ..unlike the January window, when I was a bit suspicious about how, why -and in whose interests-most of the recruits arrived....

What recruits? Kargbo?

Here’s my take…

Comparing Eustace and Ismael is irrelevant. Theres arguments both sides, but under our currebt regime, and the focus on scouting lower European leagues for diamonds in the rough. Then developing them on a fraction of the wage of their English counterparts and no doubts selling them for a profit where possible. - It’s Ismael over Eustace every single time.

The player downgrade argument is also moot, because a) we don’t actually know if these players are better than what we had, because we haven’t seen enough of them. And b) either way, the manager wants a different type of player. Eg Baradji and Tavares are completely different to Trav and Bucko, so we’re not comparing apples with apples.

All we can do is see who we finish up with, get down to the matches and make our own mind up. Right?

I think you're giving them too much credit.

They want players that are cheap and managers that are willing to work under the skinflint structure.

We aren't set up to push on from a position of strength, only to tread water.Β

Close to the play offs last season? Let's sell the players that got us there.

Close to the play offs before that? The aim for the next season? Avoid relegation.

I really hope these players turn out to be class and better than those they've replaced, but even if they are, we'll just sell them and then start again. If we aren't giving it our all to get promoted all the time, what's the point?

Is the current squad, really paper thin, if we sign another striker and midfielder, but Buckley, Travis, Pears and Leonard leave? we have 2 players or more for each position so is that paper thin?Β

I would still like another keeper in with some experience to give Toth and Michalski competition for the number 1 and 2 jerseyΒ

Got to sign another CF and CM first - easier said than done with this lot.Β

We've brought in far more than Β£7.5m and absolutely slashed the wage bill.

So no we're not spending money - we'll be in the black when this window closes.

Looking at Eustaces recruiting this summer it isnt Shocking. Its his type.Β
