What a pathetic display. Struggling badly to even get out of our own half while 1-0 down against a poor side. A lot of poor performances but Tavares deserves a dishonorable mention.

He is so lazy and/or poor defensively. When he is on the pitch the opponents tend to just run through our midfield at will.

Probably why he never made a name for himself....... at any of his former clubs........🤔💡

We're a bog-standard Championship side.

Id say we were that last season.

However blessed with an excellent manager who managed to turn muddy water into a palatable house wine.

This season .........God only knows.

Yep, it's getting really bad when you are lookingback at a ducker and diver (Del Boy/Arthur Daley) with a certain amount of fondness (did i just say that) as opposed to an egotistical, childish, vindictive, underqualified, stasi like....etc etc

Hahaha......How bad is that!

I think we'll be alright, and they'll be three teams crappier than us come the end of the season.

But would I put money on that? Ummm...

Dismal, gutless, embarassing display today. Deserved to be well beaten by a poor side.

I think if we are close to a full bill of health, we can win points especially if we score first and grind it out. But if we need a spark or if we have any injuries, you peel back the squad slightly and thats when you really worry.

Take defence as the obvious example.  Because Carter is made of glass, our only option is to play a right back at centre back, can see he hasnt played central in a back 4 before. So when our right back gets injured, you then have a second player out of position. 2 injuries in the squad (one to one that is forever injured) and look how makeshift we become.

Midfield is a big issue. Many swallowed the propaganda, Travis is easily replacable and isnt that good etc. Tavares is a waster, constant square balls and unforced losses of possesion. A loanee in TGH who really struggled in both positions but will likely be needed more at right back. And a third signing who isnt fit for ages.

And look in attack. Need a goal and we turn to absolute wasters in Kargbo and Gueye. Hedges tricks people every season with his 1 early season goal and a couple of half decent performances. We also have signed 2 attackers in De Neve and Henriksson who the manager wont even bring on, he would rather not make all of his subs.

The aim this summer seemingly was to build a quick and athletic team. Why did we not sign players with those qualities then, we look lethargic and sluggish.

Tavares is one of the worst CMs I've ever seen

It's a shame I was quite encouraged by his performance against Bradford. Thought he looked a bit like Nzonzi. Nothing since.

Not watched the game or highlights today. Don't think I'll bother.

No doubt the Swansea bay news will be at Ewood Tuesday night, and there supporters are allocated 10,000 tickets, who the fucks running Blackburn Rovers. The Lancashire Telegraph banned, who have probably been reporting on Rovers matches since they were formed.

Against Bradford.

Yeah I would recommend against it.

2 of the goals if you watch Tavares you'll absolutely fume, not marking anyone just walking about.

Back home, absolutely gutted that my partner's first experience of an away game was so utterly depressing. The fact that the tickets weren't there to collect until 2.20pm should have been the omen I suppose.

Let's be clear, there were two major issues in this game and I think both bode badly in the long term. The first is the tactics. Charlton were direct and every time they had a set piece they looked to capitalise. Us? We tapped it from keeper to defence, passed sideways a bit like crabs and then either lost the ball, passed it back to Toth or hoofed it up to Yuki, who to be fair to him won it a few times only to have zero support. If we got a set piece, we either blasted it over or just passed it back to Toth and started again. This means we create nothing of note and also invite pressure - the subs and formation changes actually made us worse.

The second is the lack of fight and passion. Toth, Wharton and Miller (and Alebiosu before he went off) put themselves about at least up until the first goal, but the rest of them? Not an ounce of effort. The worst offender by far was Tavares, who actually contributed negatively to the team.

This team doesn't have the fight needed for a relegation battle, but that's exactly where we will be. We will pick up some results here or there as everyone does but we have no depth at all. Relegation inbound.

Hes got some talent but not anywhere up to the pace of the English game and seems to think he doesnt need to play the defensive side of the gane.

Sort of player I could see improving over time and being useful next season once hes adjusted his mentality and fitness but in the trenches this year he's the opposite of what we need.

He played him in midfield, only moving him to full back after the injury.

Did you miss an hour ?

I mean, you've answered this question in your snarky response, did he or did he not stick him at full back as I said in my original post?

Combined with the introduction of the awful Tavares it completely derailed any chances of us getting anything from the game.

Yeah, we're transitioning into an exhilarating high tempo, high pressing game with a team of athletic players.

Oooh errrr..... hang on.....

We're transitioning to League 1. I dread to think what kind of players we are going to replace Tronstad, Toth and Wharton with in January/next season.

Why did we not put on McLaughlin and put Miller at right back?

Only explanation I can see would be that Wharton and Mcloughlin are both left footers... Not that I agree with it but it's the only semi logic
