I’ve mentioned before that I live in Hereford and sometimes attend their games. I do it to catch up with friends and have a beer. If a goal goes in I’ll applaud it and if it’s a screamer out of nowhere I might even break a cheer. I certainly don’t get the same buzz as I do watching rovers. I usually manage 4 or 5 games a season and this season will be no different. I’ll be at Preston in November and will also hopefully be at the 150th match.

It certainly seems much harder to get excited for a rovers game at the moment though.

If Rovers are away, I'll sometimes wander down and watch Clitheroe.

There's a lot I like about it tbh- having a bev in the stand, the rough and tumble of the non-league and the throwback nature of it all. 

But, I don't know whether this is due to semi-pro nature of it all or not, but I just can't take it that seriously and when they score, it's a mild clap really. I don't get anything like as enthused as I do with Rovers.

I'm now based in Somerset. I get to 4 or 5 Rovers games a year. For convenience and, to be honest, increasingly due to disassociation with what Rovers has become, I attend a few Exeter City and Bristol City home games each year. Neither feels anything like the same as watching and supporting Rovers. The Bristol City games in particularly make me feel like I'm cheating on a lover!! I'll never feel the same emotion at any other club I watch but, to be honest, the less and less that Rovers feels like "my" club, the less that extra buzz really matters. Its sad but I feel like I'm fighting, with diminishing success, the loss of love for something that used to matter so much to me. One day, I suspect that politely clapping a local team that I don't love as much but who's ownership doesn't treat me, as a supporter, like an idiot will be enough for me to just stop going to Rovers, altogether and to simply listen out in hope for news of ownership change, but little more in the meantime.

There’s a group of us that’s been attending longer distance away games for many years - not all games by any means but picking the ones where we enjoy going or maybe a new ground where we’ve never been before. Probably 7 or 8 games a season. It’s always been a fun day out for a few old codgers, on the road or by rail,  even in the worst times.

We’ve been to one game this season, and I can’t see us going to another one. The feeling has gone, killed off by the constant mismanagement of the club and feeling that it is all so pointless (literally). The relegation last time was bad enough but this coming one feels terminal and one that the club will not recover from

It’s sad but all good things come to an end I guess. Maybe it is old age but we’ve come to an agreement - we don’t enjoy it any more. The problem is there’s more and more of us drifting away, and the fanbase gets smaller with each passing year. The missing fans won’t be coming back - and they’re not being replaced by younger ones who probably think they’ve better things to do with their time and money than support a failing and most likely dying club

I can't and won't accept when those things are done deliberately by choice.

Can’t say I’ve seen many goals this season but even the ones I have it has been verging on polite applause from me.

Not because my passion for Blackburn Rovers as a ‘thing’ is waning, the opposite, it’s just a visceral dislike of what the regime is providing - no pressure to achieve and the resulting poor players with a poor manager in a soulless, decaying ground.

The soul of BRFC now resides elsewhere and we need to fight for it, unfortunately that won’t happen with the Ewood attendees, so it’s Glen’s campaigns or it’s nothing.

Support 2 clubs? Never. I could never do that.

Venkys killed it for me and all the guys I travelled with from Leyland. Under their tenure, long hard supporting fans fell away one by one over the last ten years or so. It finished up where I was driving to Ewood and walking down to Ewood to night matches in the dark, in the rain, on my own. I was in the riverside on the ground at one game where the stewards were wading into the D.E. To tackle demonstrating Rovers fans. That was at the club that I loved. I think the love ended there.

I started to fall away at that point. I didn’t renew my season ticket and never heard a thing from Rovers. My attendance is limited now but I still watch every game I can on TV, follow everything in the media and “enjoy” the discussions on here. However the anger I have towards the owners currently dominates my feelings. 
 

I would love them to leave because we will never recover while they’re still here. Unfortunately the future post Venkys cannot be guaranteed either.

I think most of us realise a critical point is approaching from which Rovers may never recover. It seems inevitable.

Never thought it would happen in my lifetime.

There's enough love around for Rovers that may see a "Phoenix Club" arise but it will be a long, long battle.

Don't think I'll be around to see it. Agree Glen must be supported to the hilt but so many dopes can't see it.

No "Phoenix Club" for me personally NO NAY NEVER!..there will only ever be one ROVERS CLUB in this Town.

Being brutally honest what hurt's me the most is our inability to come together as a united Fanbase and fight the B'stards ruining our Town's Ancient and Storied Club.

Massive frustration.

I go to Chorley occasionally.  I was brought in up nearby Leyland and my brother played in goal for Chorley for a short time.

I don’t support them but it is a great atmosphere.  A loud home crowd, plenty of novel supporters flags, a good Fanzone and a new club shop.  They are pulling in a lot of former Rovers attendees these days and recruiting loads of young fans who may otherwise have gone to Rovers.*
 

*Rovers Community Trust no longer do any activities in Chorley.  I had arranged for the Council Leader to attend a Rovers home game but Rovers never followed up the contact despite promises.
