Don't think anyone expected anything from today, and certainly no shame in losing away to the team now top of the table, but the last 30 mins or so certainly summed up the state of things at the moment.

4 points minimum from the next two games is vital. I think they'll do well to get 2 points though.

Can't see us getting anything at home to Sheffield U making us swap places and being bottom

I'll admit I didn't have the best view today, but till the 60th or so the backline and midfield felt competent against a team top of the league.

The complete abject status of our attacking options, plus any chances off the bench, will cripple us this year.

Come January, if this isn't resolved, we will go down.

Idk what if they announce that suhail and Rudy are leaving and the venkys are selling to a multi billion dollar American investment group

that might happen right…right

The only hopes I can see are:

1) Sacking VI and appointing a decent manager.

and

2) Having a particularly good January window

Neither of which are likely to happen.

Bang on.

Sacking ismael in isolation doesnt actually change too much.

The only thing that matters monish complete regime change.

Tbh as much as the fans don't deserve this. Rudy and Suhail absolutely do, its just a shame that the crowd is too apathetic to give it to them both barrells.

Gestede needs to go for the poor recruitment, Ismael needs to go because he's inept and the snake needs to go because of the 15 years of absolute shite he's served up.

If only Venkys could fire themselves. Into a bottomless chasm.

We all agree on those sentiments, but who is going to sack them? Pasha and Gestede are running the show. The only people above them are Venkys and they don't give a toss about what is going on in this club. Desperate times.

7 goals from 9 matches is a big concern:

Morishita - seen as a marquee signing yet didn't play a single minute today for whatever reason.

Gueye - fallen out of favour

Ohashi - hasn't improved/ stepped up since last season

Gudjohnsen - his quality can be questioned at this point. Need a goal to get going.

Cantwell - only one who has shown quality attacking-wise and are behind most of our goals (3 goals, 2 assists). Him getting injured at this stage with big matches coming up is a huge blow.

Playing three at the back today worked decently up until around the 60-minute mark. However, it was a risky move knowing that we didn't have Carter as backup on the bench and Miller ended up getting injured. Funny how we played with Tronstad as a sitting midfielder in front of the back three yet failed to close down opposition players twice from shooting right outside the box? In both instances, you have 6-7 of our own players getting back defending the box vs 2 or 3 Coventry players? Why? What are our midfielders doing at that point? We're in trouble if we can't even do basic defending.

And please, someone tell Rhodes to get down to the training ground and teach our strikers how to score goals just like what JDT did with Szmodics...

This is absolutely no surprise - Emerald Isle Rover (I think it was) posted an expected best X1 midway through the season and I pointed out the lack of goals in the side, roughly 20 I think it was last season.

Imo we needed to add 2 goalscorers and by the looks of it we havent added any.

Who should replace Ismael and who would come?

Doesn't really matter who 'would' come it's all about who the usual hidden suspects decide to install next.

And it'll be a 35-1 left field long shot as usual.

Cant say this is the Rovers i started to support in 1992. Sad to see how they have destroyed our club since 2012. Pasha Gestede Ismael OUT

The only person that needs to be out is Pasha........ everything else will follow

It was going quite well until they scored, then it was game over. Before the goal Rovers had the better of the chances and aside from struggling to clear the ball now and again the defending looked OK.

Rovers have nothing up front. It was slim pickings last season and top scorer Weimann left leaving the cupboard bare. I like Ohashi but he doesn't score near enough and looks isolated. Gueye is not a footballer. The new lads haven't got going, although Ismael's lack of a settled system hasn't helped.

The commentator I had on said that Coventry have had the same back 4 all season, Rovers back line today was the 4th game in a row with a change of personnel. That doesn't bode well either.

Overall it was a better performance than some I've seen this season, but only points matter, and it was always gong to be hard to get any away to a team who are flying.

I may have said it in the Ipswich abandoned game thread but such is how this season is going it would be no surprise to me that the replay will be a must win for Rovers, and they will lose cementing relegation.

Re their back four - everybody wants to play when you’re winning. “ How that knock you got last week son, Oh that, it’s nothing boss, I’ll be fine for Saturday “.

On the other hand ———-.

How did Henriksson play today? I’m only vaguely interested to know really and I sense my apathy is shared by many as I’ve seldom seen such a quiet match thread.

I thought Henriksson did OK until he seemed to lose his rag with one of the Coventry players and Tord who ironically scored shortly afterwards.

This team is not good enough to get a result at Coventry who are on fire. But we do need to start getting wins against the likes of Charlton, Derby and Sheffield Wed or we will be in deep trouble.

Went today…a BMW X5 parked in front of us…Suhail emerged from the passenger seat. I’m on blood pressure medication so resisted all temptation to give him what for…

Thought we started quite well on the whole, created at least 3 decent chances but when we missed them all we all turned to each other & said “Well we know what’s coming now don’t we?” And so it transpired.

Coventry picked us apart quickly & ruthlessly & then they seemed to realise that they could conserve energy & so they stepped off the accelerator and coasted till full time.

Rovers in that 2nd half looked like a lower league team away in the FA Cup against objectively more skilful, more experienced and confident opponents. One look at the bench made you realise that options were thin on the ground and our fate was sealed.

Let there be no doubt, this club is in the thick of a relegation battle. The stench is all-pervading.

I’m no Ismael fan but let’s all agree on one thing, he isn’t the cause of this nonsense & his removal would effectively be shuffling the deckchairs on the Titanic.

Apathy is the word. For the first time in years I didn't even bother to look for the score until after the end of the match. I had a much more enjoyable afternoon than I would have had so I'll do it again next week.

"Just been told" by who?

As whoever it was will be having you on. Wont be going anywhere.

Certainly not getting sacked if there's compensation to pay for the nearly 3 years remaining on his contract.
