I was surprised to see the attendance for our 125th anniversary was only 20,800. Not close to a sell out then and that's when we were competently run by people who care.

To be honest from what i remember about it there was less of a fuss around that one than this but the focus back then was all about the football side of things.

Also no social media and probably no cheap ticket deal otherwise back then there'd have been thousands more on.

What with all "Tha togevanass"?

Lol. He was a good gaffa though. Had the connection strong between the fans and the players. I wouldn’t boo him or chant against him. Those who do are stupid imo

This is Rovers and one thing we excel at is boo boys, unless we need them to oust grifters and owners of course !

I don't miss Eustace's pressers that's for sure. What a load of noncommital wishwash

Couldn't agree more - thought the exact same when I read his comments pre-game.

'Yeah, y'know, I was at a tremendous club and now I'm at a tremendous club and, y'know, I've enjoyed my time at all of my previous clubs, but y'know, we're all just here on Saturday to do the best for our clubs and, y'know, there's no need to talk about who used to play for who. Y'know.'

I've never known anyone speak so much without actually saying anything.

You're better than that Andy.

Eustace was brilliant for us and also attempted to stand up to those twats.

Your ccomments sound petty and vindictive.

Don't think he was saying he wasn't good for us, anyone who thinks otherwise is blind. Kept us from being relegated, steadied the ship and made us solid at the back, gave us a playoff side forvthe following season and stood up to the jokers in this club .

Eustace should he applauded if anything.

It's the Derby fans that should get the flack

Looking at a decent crowd for a 12:30 game on Sky..JW and BBE lower look not far from being sold out.

Any Angst today should be turned on our so-called Owners.

Should only ever be venkys and there minions who get flak from us, Derby fans are irrelevant.

Said since the fixtures came out and this game fell on the anniversary that nothing good can come of today.

Expecting a total embarrassment  with all our ex staff and players taking the piss out if us.

It will sum up the venkys reign perfectly.

The support is there if this club ever got serious again (it won’t under this regime, so there is only one outcome that can lead to it).

My contribution to today

1875

Seventeen gather in a Blackburn pub

eyes bright with promise..

'This will be our club!'

Blackburn Rovers, set to thrive

Born 1875

In Cotton Town they worked to spin

threads of blue and white that would weave within

the generations that come between

their dream

and now

They wove the fabric of our club, our town

Blue and white shirts of great renown

Blue and White ribbons on trophies evince

success in every century since

History has never seen

a more successful small town team

What times to be alive!

Since 1875

Those threads through history remind us

Whatever troubles come to find us

Stand tall. Be proud. Let this club bind us

Raise our scarves of white and blue

Lift hearts and voices too:

'We love you Rovers, we do'

Love and pride that still survives

Born 1875

That's fantastic!!!!!

I just can't help but think it's going to be an opening 10 minutes of Derby testing Pears peppering him with high balls. He has to stand up to it or it will be a long afternoon.

Difficult one to call.

A draw would be no surprise.

However, if I had to make a bet it would be on Derby as given our player absences, I just can't see us keeping a clean sheet with Derby's physicality and also calamity back in goal.

IMO, any stick given to Eustace will be moronic given how he saved us from relegation and left us top sixish.  It's our, IMO, moronic owners and executive management who should be getting pelters in no uncertain terms for what they have done to our club including the loss of our last two managers (JDT and JE) who would have given us a very good chance of getting to the PL if backed.

You can't do more to get supporters back in their seats, 3 wins in a row.

Not that I believe there is a snowball (no pun intended) in hell's chance of it happening but today of all days should be the time the Indians turn up to witness a unique milestone in Rovers history. They own the club, profess to watch games and allegedly want the best for the club.

As I don't believe that will happen will there be some patronising message from them?

I'm sure the fans who think they are doing a good job will blame the fans who are vocal against their ownership for their non attendance.

Hopefully if they are conspicuous by their absence it will be commented on by the national media and put them in the spotlight again.

Looks like the Blackburn end and Jack Walker are nearly sold out; fair play!

Excellent mate.

The club should use that, make sure you get a copyright. 😂

I hope your youngest has a great day and remembers his first game for the rest of his life.
