well, well the February change of head coach happened again.

My choice would be Lincoln head coach Michael Skubala or Lech Poznan Niels Frederiksen.

Skubala doing an excellent job at Lincoln, tactical good and developing young players.

Frederiksen is tactically adaptable, was Denmark under 21 in his career and his win percentage is good in every job he has had.

I am happy with Damien Johnson as interim head coach, he is good guy, liked by the players I believe and know them well. I believe he doesn't want to head coach, so he isn't an option.

I think we ended up with Lee Bowyer(who Alan Nixon and Ian Battersby mentioned on Radio Lancs Monday night as option for us) or someone like Marti Cifuentes or Alan Sheehan. I don't see Bilic wanted this job long term. I can't see Gary Rowett being interested in the job

oh no

Chaddy straight back in to tell us that he thinks that Lee Bowyer might get the job and that a bloke recently sacked by Oxford wouldnt take it.

Presumably still fuming that Ismael was sacked.

I didn't say for the rest of the season though, all I said originally was see how he goes and ride the wave if there is one to ride.

If he hadn't won on Tuesday that would have been that, same goes at Norwich. But if he wins on Saturday we might just have something going. Why not maximise the situation?

It wasnt a response to your post though.

If we win, do we abandon the search? Based on a solitary result? Do we tell anyone already contacted to not bother?

I have never ever said announce him permanently until the end of the season. That would indeed be lunacy.

All Im saying is IF Johnson is doing well in the meantime, Id rather bide my time on a game by game basis than appoint someone crap purely for the sake of making someone permanent.

So are we more attractive with Championship status assured in summer?  Maybe not so much, I dont know.

Yeah we probably are, but we are much more likely to assure our Championship status if we appoint a manager.

I certainly have never suggested appointing someone crap for the sake of a permanent manager.

Lee Bowyer. In in the last 5 years he's managed 73 games at Birmingham and Montserrat and won 21 of them. Not managed a club side in 3.5 years.

Sounds about right then.

Firstly, I given my opinion on who I would appoint if I was in charge of recruiting the next head coach appointment, sadly I am not in charge of it.

Lee Bowyer's name was mentioned on Radio Lancs by 2 people and that's their opinions and who they think we should appointed. Fair play on that saying who they think we should appoint and saying it publicly.

I don't see Rovers management appointing Rowett and vice versa I don't see Rowett wanted this job here. That's my opinion

Guys a clown take every he says with a pinch of salt if Gestede said it was Tuesday on a Monday Chaddy would believe him never disagrees with anything the club does or says

If we don't get a result on Saturday it's over.

If we win at Norwich and still haven't appointed anyone by Wednesday/Thursday, I'd certainly stretch it out until after QPR.

Wouldn't you?

No.

I wouldnt delay the urgent process of a new manager upon a solitary result.

And that doesnt mean rushing it. It should be a single minded approach to get the best manager possible in the quickest time possible. That shouldnt change.

Maybe it’s the couple of pints after work but I watched the pre match for the weekend and I just think we’re in better hands already. Below is a snippet;

Tactically, there’s no way to know from the outset but he did talk about effort and endeavour, getting the crosses and creating chances - something VI never even mentioned, he couldn’t fit that around the complaints about fitness or referee decisions (remember his list?)

This isn’t advocating for DJ, I just loved hearing about how he sends his kids to local schools and talks about the working class values of the town. There won’t be any excuses, and that suits me.

I always really rated him as a player and thought he was very under-appreciated by Souness.

From what I can gather he's a fairly shy unassuming character so that probably didnt particularly endear him to the boss.

We’ve had so many good players…

I imagine him and Tronstad would’ve done a job back then and now!
