unpopular opinion, but I don’t think GA would be the worst appointment

He was successful with Wycombe;During his successful long-term tenure at Wycombe Wanderers, this style was known as the "£10m" (or "10-year") plan, characterized by punching above their weight through unity and an uncompromising, effective, and direct brand of football.

Combine that playing style with the fact he is rovers through and through and we could create the spirit and passion we need to get the wins needed for the remained of the season.

Ainsworth is on a downward trajectory. Failed horrifically at QPR, didn't stick around at Shrewsbury and now has Gillingham 14th after far too many draws.

After Wycombe I'd have been all for it, but not so much now.

He’d be close though…

Can’t seem to find the odds on any website. Has the market closed? Appointment imminent?

Wouldn't have thought so, they were taken down the other day too.

We need to make an appointment today or tomorrow. Allow him 3 full training sessions with the players and Johnson/the staff.

If Rowett is appoint, its likely that Mark will joined him as his number 2

Agree, although Pasha is probably thinking if we employ the new guy on a Friday before the game we save 4 days wages.

Yeah, that's not happening is it.

Seems to me as though we're nowhere near anything being agreed or finalised.

And repeating it again he was also QPR through and through but his style was a disaster there.

Imo he'd be a better bet if we went down then he could come in and rebuild it in his own way from scratch.

However repeating again his philosophy doesn't fit the one this club is trying to implement but you'd hope on relegation it would get rid of those pushing it and just focus on bouncing back.

Not for me.

That video of his so called team-talk was absolutely cringe worthy... and didn't show any discernible spirit or passion.

It did however (maybe) get some humour back in the group and maybe lighten the mood.

I really don't believe in these team bonding/building exercises but that one was particularly brutal. The players faces said it all and psychologically would have a negative effect if I were in the shoes of the players.

I like Ainsworth and I would have definitely taken a punt on him when he was at Wycombe but maybe not now.

I didnt realise his recent record was quite as bad as it is tbh

QPR:

W5 D4 L19.

That's Coleman at Sunderland type territory

Shrewsbury:

W5 D5 L12

Gillingham:

W14 D19 L10

All that said, assuming he would take the job, we need to find someone else who wants it first!

It didn’t work it that occasion, but was maybe worth a try. Another group could have responded differently.

Of grown men?  I doubt it.

How can you be QPR through and through and Rovers through and through?  I don't get it.

Don't need any half n half scarvers here.

He had 3 spells at North End as well.

However the cap fits.

Phil Jones boyhood Rover but Utd lover, why aren't people wanting him.
