  1. Net result is probably the same financially - it just prevents the need for VLL to pump the £16 million in directly. So the club won't be getting any extra cash - but it may help from a FFP point of view as the cash can be seen as income rather than direct funding. If the whole point of the sale was FFP oriented then why not buy all of Brockhall and utilise the loophole further ? It's seems that option is now gone. I think they want this land to be kept separate from the ownership of the club - how much is it worth with 170 houses on it ? If VLL sell the club they can keep the land. There may be no indication they are selling but they have given themselves more options now. Remember the golden rule - NEVER TRUST A VENKY
  2. Very interesting. MD stated categorically that there would be no transfer funds available for not only the January transfer window but also next summer. As a number of players’ contracts expire this summer it will be challenging for the incumbent manager. MD stated that Vincent Tan is looking to restructure the finances of the club MD emphasised throughout how financially reliant the club are on VT. Sounds familiar - but at least their owners and board communicate with the fans.
  3. Absolutely spot on. I have not been to a home game since Coyle was appoited but I miss Ewood so much. If Ainsworth was appointed I would return. We need someone who loves and understands then club Will Venky's understand my point of view ? No Will Venky's appoint Ainsworth ? No Boycott continues
  4. I think if I was offered a 'Cash Out' on this season I would take it now. I don't think we will finish higher than 13th and it would save the weekly anguish of ruined Saturdays. Happy to jump straight into next season with a new manager. ( I know it's only October but it's already feeling like a dead season )
  5. The comment about 'just getting through the season' rings true. As far as we know Mowbray will leave at the end of the season (no bad thing) so he has no incentive to persuade any of the end-of-contract palyers to stay. I wouldn't be surprised if Waggott leaves when Mowbray does - he's retirement age and made his money. So why worry about the future of the club ? I don't suppose they do. And of course, Venky's won't be losing any sleep over any of this. I will be glad to see the back of Mowbray and Waggott but Crooke is right - this season already looks like a write-off with no consideration of the future. The club is adrift on the waters of neglect.
  6. I did read your words in the Blackpool match thread very carefully. You said that you believed things would improve due to what you had been told. But you didn't give any details at all. Do you still believe things will improve and can you reveal anything yet ?
  7. That is why I am suggesting more people do it. I can't think of any other options other than grin and bear it.
  8. While everyone is still angry why not consider joining the boycott. Maybe an organised boycott of a single home game with protests outside Ewood. We need to show the owners that we are angry and won't put up with the situation any longer.
  9. Current league form is 2 wins in 9 Going back to the start of the death spiral last season ( defeat at QPR in February ) we have played 32 league games and won 8 ( 25% ) and gained 35 points. This includes 2 dead rubber wins when the pressure was off. So at that rate (1.09 points per game), for the last 8 months we have been in the sort of form that could put us perilously close to the bottom 3. 2 wins in the first 3 games this season gave us a bit of breathing space but the overall picture hasn't really changed. I predict a low bottom half finish but we should survive ( fingers crossed )
  10. There is no connection between the club and the community/fans. 11 years of being ignored has not helped. When Venky's leave and we get some enthusiastic owners then many missing fans will return.
  11. The strange case of Benjamin Brereton. Until recently nothing seemed to be going for him but now everything he tries seems to pay off. For example the second goal against Cardiff where he lost the ball or mishit it about 4 times but it still ended up in the net. I've heard rumours that he visited a certain crossroads in Mississippi sometime last year!! Really enjoying his success and it is a nice distraction from the fact that Venky's are still here. I'll be gutted if Brereton is sold and we don't re-invest - that would be a complete U-turn on Mowbray's 'journey'.
  12. How is it that your money will be going to ELH? Is that the entire ticket money ? Sounds interesting,
  13. I appreciate your actions as a concerned fan but as you will not divulge any details of why you believe Rovers are turning a corner, it is difficult to get on board with your enthusiasm. I've said before, if you have managed to make contact with Suhail or the Raos then well done but if it is Steve Waggott you are talking to then you are probably wasting your time. I think you need to be a bit more forthcoming before anyone else can understand where you are coming from on this.
  14. I agree, one way or another something will change at some point - but what is the highlighted section all about ? Is there really any plan other than to pay the bills, ignore the fans and plod on until they get totally bored? I know you have been talking about positive signs recently but I can't see any.
  15. There may be no evidence ( that you have seen ) of third parties being interested in buying Rovers - but things may be happening that we don't know about. There is also no evidence that Venky's will suddenly start taking a proper interest in the club. The last 11 years suggest they won't. At some point they will bail out and the future of the club may depend on their actions at that time. The longer they stay the more money they may try to recoup. So the sooner they go the better - I'd be confident we would get new owners with a lot more respect for the club and the fans and the town - maybe less money but more engagement. Venky's riches are just wasted anyway due to their own incompetence.
  16. Someone else takes over. Maybe someone with the clubs best interests at heart - Is that not a possibility ?
  17. Venky's financial backing is worth nothing without any other constructive input. May as well throw the money down the toilet. How many times are you prepared to be disappointed before you realise Venky's are bad news for the club - no point clinging to false hopes that they will come good one day. Eventually they will decide enough is enough and administration would then be a real possibility - may as well get it over with.
  18. Derby, Wigan,Bolton,Coventry,Portsmouth ( twice ), Crystal Palace, Southampton,Bournemouth,Leicester,QPR, Leeds,Rotherham If they can all survive administration and come back stronger, I'm sure Rovers can.
  19. I wonder if Venky's will try and cash in on Brereton in January while he is a hot property. Dack was definitely going in Jan 2020 and Armstrong was always going to go in the summer. Sell any major assets seems to be the order of the day. I'm sure it will be discussed if Mowbray is going to Pune next week. Venky's interest in the club ( if they have any at all ) is currently based on running costs rather than success on the pitch. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go.
  20. Two deliberate own goals and a sending off in one game - it's not unreasonable to bear a grudge. The guy has no morals.
  21. You say you have been communicating with people at the club. If it is Suhail or the Raos then well done - the least they should be doing is talking to the fans - I don't see why you wouldn't be able to confirm your contacts even if you want to keep the subject matter secret. If it is Steve Waggott you are talking to then you are wasting your time - I know from personal experience. You are asking people to believe that positive moves are on the horizon when there is no evidence whatsoever, yet you say a potential buyer is not credible because you have not seen any evidence - you can't have it both ways. I hope that your optimism is not unfounded but I would be much happier if it is the billionaire interest that materialises.
  22. I was struggling to understand why Waggott would be so open about the contract situations. Other clubs and potential suitors probably know what's going on via the agents but to make it so public will surely alienate the players and reduce the chances of a successful conclusion from our point of view. But he can now say "I did warn you" if they are sold and "Look how great I am" if they end up re-signing. All about Waggott self preservation, not for the benefit of Blackburn Rovers. Venky's Out
  23. Makes you wonder what we agree to when we take on these young loanees. Have we agreed to play them for a guaranteed number of games? Seems pointless to me when we have our own youngsters who are equally as good if not better.
  24. Buckley is 22 next month - not particularly young to be breaking into the first team. Perhaps he won't develop physically beyond his current stature. Has he got the mental strength to impose himself ? There are a lot of aspects of an individual player that make it impossible to know how they will develop. Many players show potential but don't fulfil it for one reason or another. I hope your confidence is rewarded but predicting the future is probably harder than rocket science.
