  1. Agreed. I think we all thought we had gone into this season a little light. I suppose the question is why...Why are Venky's always late to the party...why were they so slow in moving on from TM? A good window is vital...
  2. And a happy new year to you, sir...
  3. Maybe not, but he can go back to Sweden.... or Timbuktu for me
  4. Yeah, on reflection, this time last year was the first time, I had any hope of promotion to the top flight, since they took us down in 2012. I knew that the transfer window would be vital and an indicator of the owners' ambition. The death spiral that followed was the worst, since December '69 after the sale of Keith Newton. This year, I have no belief. ....and I know what is going to happen, as results match our passive, abject no -shows. Actually, another poor performance against Boro will probably see the crowd turn on JDT.... Cue:" But we are 5th in the table" etc. I am old enough to know better than to let this affect my psychological well-being, but I do hate it, when we are so shit!
  5. You end up in Colditz, Douglas...
  6. Young boys.".proh-jekt.".in that way....BOLLUX!
  7. That very low "expected goals" thing speaks to my own frustration...
  8. As often as I've heard "We are third", I have heard -and agreed- "we are shit"..
  9. I stopped watching his interviews weeks ago...
  10. And for those, who try to re-write history, compare that to the late 70's and 80's.
  11. Interesting, isn't it. I've never known a season like it. We are third in the table, yet so many of us are uneasy, frustrated, unconvinced etc I think we have won 13 games and lost 10 in the league . 10 defeats is a lot and so may of them have involved complete no shows...The disgraceful derby performances merely add salt to the wounds.. And so many goals are gifted to the opposition too. So, in our house-like this message board,- it is a repeated exchange-That was a shite performance v We are third in the table. My response is that both are true, but I am not criticising anyone, who is frustrated and dissatisfied.
  12. And if you are pants, all you can hope for on Boxing Day is for your opponents to turn up, "dicking about at the back" and without the guts to come back from a goal down-a goal that you don't even have to work for......just saying...
  13. Not forgetting John O'Mara, as some of my older readers will remember. Southern accent etc, signed from Brentford, but "born in Farnworth". Wracking my brains, but does anyone else remember who Alf Thornton was referring to in his ironic" born a bottle's throw from Ewood Park?
  14. Very worrying.. Death spiral underway?
  15. "I think 4-1 was flattering for Blackburn, if I am honest. Preston were so dominant against the team that had the best home record in the division and they smashed them. "I think fans should be concerned, worried is too strong but it's three defeats in four. They were turned over at Burnley and then turned over in the first game back.
  16. Absolutely. I have noticed that he is putting it on the players and I just don't buy it. It looks all wrong to me. Lots of awful, no show performances-mostly away from home- and several of our victories have been less than convincing. Wilder's comments only heighten my anxiety. I met an old mate, who is a non gloating Claret and the first thing he said to me was "Why do you keep dicking about at the back? You gave us two goals from doing that!" The start of the 2nd half on Saturday was an alarming indication of a perverse determination to remake the same mistakes...
  17. He has certainly earned himself a large amount of distrust.....
  18. I was only messing! I fully agree with this. Wealth earned by a Blackburn workforce and Jack wanted to give something back. Someone did say to me, though, if Jack hadn't bought Rovers, we would never have heard of Venky's! Funny old game...
  19. Signing Anel would have required too much detail.
  20. I remember a quote from Shebby Singh saying "They're trying to relegate us!" I think he was referring to Shagnew and Anderson. Back then, although it was Venky's name above the door, it almost felt there were two lots of owners and their representatives were in conflict.
