  1. This has been a growing concern for me. You have got to worry about the level of know-how in the Rovers "boardroom"? If you are going to sell off good assets for a pittance, you would expect a sizeable sell -on clause. 10% is pathetic for Cairney, given the paltry fee. I don't know off hand, but I seem to remember thinking the sell-on percentage was low for Raya too.
  2. I don't know the answer, JBiz, but I guess Stuart's post and your own show the whole, awful Blackburn Rovers dilemma. I understand that the "rhetoric of risk" is more dramatic and exciting than that of caution. However, Rovers are clearly going nowhere, except backwards and that seems like a slow, lingering death, in itself. I have started to see the current malaise as the pointless pain before a knee replacement. After the operation, the pain is somehow more worthwhile, as it paves the road to recovery.
  3. You have named it there, Rev. "To be fair to the owners, would you give him any more money?"...and yet they leave him in post!!!! It is just not credible for Venky's to hold both views at the same time. Yet another argument for Venky's out, as far as I am concerned. I am sick of the club being mismanaged.
  4. This time, it will need clear leadership. No room for big noise, overclaim and non delivery. We just cannot afford another fanfare fiasco like "WAR"....
  5. I am prepared to wait. What have we got to lose after years of dumbing down? The season ticket details aren't even released...
  6. It would be a great signing...but...he seems to be linked with several other clubs....
  7. Quite. I think any concerted action would have to include giving them "a war at home"-lots of negative publicity in India.... The first goal has to be a strategy to engage the majority of supporters in clear aims for any action...And we all know that won't be easy here. Meanwhile, I am still holding back until we hear something back from Darren Rover and his associates. After 10 years of purgatory, I am prepared to wait a little longer.
  8. Quite right in that, JB. If I were banned, I certainly wouldn't want mods telling all and sundry the ins and outs of why...
  9. I don't disagree with a single word of that. This time, I made a decision to wait until I hear definitively that there is no response to this letter and, in particular, the approach from Darren Rover's mates before I go full ahead in joining in with a concerted "OUT" agenda....Then, I suspect we have a chance to engage others to that end..... I suspect we won't have to wait long!
  10. I haven't been on here much lately, but I came to look for anything from Darren Rover, but found nothing recent. I am hoping the silence is merely because he and his colleagues are working quietly and carefully behind the scenes, but it also struck me that he could be serving a ban. You never know! I know things do get heated on here in a context where there is so much reasonable anger and disappointment, but I hope Darren Rover will be posting either some genuine progress or a definitive message that Venky's won't listen/are ignoring the approach. Amidst all the keyboard arguments, I certainly did not dismiss Darren Rover's message and what I interpreted as a very real plan afoot. Far from it. Actually, it gave me some hope for the first time in ages. Does anyone know anything? I would be hoping for us to hear something -anything-by mid/end June. If he is serving a ban, maybe, his exile will be over by then? If the approach is dismissed/blocked/ignored, I need to know, so that I can decide what to do about the prospect of another decade of nothingness and "waiting for Wagot"...( sorry no circumflex on my keyboard!)
  11. Most worrying of all, Kean got rid of himself...They didn't even sack that *****
  12. Very stark to be reading this from you, Parson. Sadly, I feel you are right. None of us can be certain, but all the evidence does point to the fact that Rovers will never progress under this ownership. Meanwhile, there are hints again on this message board that there are moves afoot from Rovers centred business people to try and engage the Raos. Is there the faintest possibility that this 10 year malaise is entirely due to long distance over reliance on dishonest/ poorly skilled middle men, who have continued to mislead "hapless", but well meaning owners? I am in the "Hard to believe" corner... However, if Venky's finally agreed to partner with skilled people, who genuinely had Blackburn Rovers at heart, even I would want to give it a chance to work.... I hope these people are working quietly and discreetly behind the scenes. And certainly, they have my good wishes. However, if these approaches are merely ignored, I would expect them to inform us and I would want to put all my weight behind a new Venky's Out campaign.
  13. Damn.. Just when I was hoping for Eliot Ness' Blue and White Army!
  14. This. What a long list of duds, dickheads and crooks they have appointed! This is why it is hard to see anything but this death by a thousand cuts. For me, they have to go. Nevertheless, if someone could intervene and work with them to implement a proper structure with employees, who are suitably qualified, you never know. If someone could drill a hole in their heads.... for someone sensible to shit in
  15. TM's own messages about planning for next season, I guess. Personally, I haven't given up hope of his departure, but every day he remains makes me anxious.
  16. He didn't start off like that at all. We endured a terrible run of form, when he first took over/sold Field etc...but it worked like Souness's appointment. He had a few games to assess the squad before the summer and aid his preparation. Mowbray remaining until the start of next season would be worst case...
  17. Only Glenn Hoddle knows...There is a rumour that lots of war criminals and villains from history all happened to be reincarnated and born into new lives, as Blackburn Rovers fans. Trouble is, none of us even knew-apart from Hoddle... What a truly awful decade....Everything and I mean everything comes down to the ownership, no matter how hard some try to find excuses and free passes for them... Badly advised/trusted the wrong people (again..and again?) Give me f*** strength!
  18. No, he went into retirement, as soon as he signed!
  19. Well, I think that we should go the whole hog and wear the Coventry kit-the brown one from that famous cup tie...
