  1. Not only that Mike, Lee Harvey Oswald was also shot live on TV, his brother Bobby was shot by Sirhan Sirhan at a democrat conference in LA in front of the media, he incidentally was released from prison in August this year with the blessing of the Kennedy family. Dr King was assassinated during the same period, Malcolm X too, how must it have felt to live through that period as an American?
  2. Whilst our heads are turned expecting bids for Brereton, we need to make sure nobody steals Buckley. He was outstanding tonight and has been for most of the season, another gem we must keep hold of. Onwards and upwards.
  3. Yes. You don’t break up a winning side, a side challenging for promotion and if they do it’s season over for me.
  4. Yes I've watched the first 3 chaddy, 1 more to go, its very good. Having been into the JFK assassination for many years even I've learned a number of new bits of evidence from the first 3 episodes.
  5. I've just had a cheeky Barnsley fan at the door (I live between Udders and Barnsley) telling me how they're going to stuff us tonight and what 'fair weather fans' we've got - Cheeky bastard.... I'm now going for Rovers 4 Barnsley 0 and plenty of roadworks on M1 to make the journey home more painful for him. Come on you Super Blues.
  6. Its not a huge challenge in my book, if you want Premiership football and the £150m+ that comes with just one season in the top league, you don't sell, if you're not really bothered and happy to just plod along in the Championship losing £20m a season then sell. We have been told things have changed behind the scenes, we could be about to find out.
  7. Give me a shout if you need a hand 👍
  8. The story probably comes from this site where a bonus was mentioned a while back, someone's picked it up from here would be my guess. The owners have kept quiet for a few years now and long may it continue as far as I'm concerned, we want them as far away from whats currently going on as possible. I would also add that Waggott wouldn't be able to keep this information quite had it been true and not a word from the inside sources which tells its own story.
  9. I suppose the one takeaway is we've finally learned how to catch, Butler aside, he needs dropping and replacing with a proper wicket keeper, but the rest of them are holding on to chances finally. The bowling until put us in a decent position only for the weak batting unit to again let the side down in the face of some excellent stuff from Aussies it must be said. It will all be over tonight, Ashes retained and England back to the drawing board.
  10. 23yrs man and boy on here and avoided the mod role 😀 Long may it continue, you chaps do a tremendous job.
  11. Rovers fan with Mcewans shirt on in the crowd, first wicket for Robinson, Lion gone.
  12. Make no mistake this variant is massively infectious, it’s ripping through the country at pace, but football is a billion pound industry, being run like a pop up backstreet fireworks shop…..
  13. I wonder if they did them on Christmas Day? Or was Covid given a day off at the expenses of the fans? I don’t have the answers, but I do know the fans often don’t matter and it’s always been that way…
  14. I’m a massive supporter of following the rules, self isolation and everything that comes with this awful pandemic, but it’s my opinion that some clubs are using this as an excuse for a mid winter break, at the expense of the fans.
  15. Scandalous. Football fans just don’t matter, bollox to them, they’ll come back next week regardless….. Train, eat, pick up your wage. Train, eat, pick up your wage. Covid being used as an excuse for a break across the country at the expense of the fans.
  16. Shocking batting once again, poor shots to get out, even Bairstow who played well for his 35 gave his wicket away and don't get me started on Butler, he needs dropping, to give his wicket away 1 ball before tea by trying to hit Lion into the stands is amateurish. Bowlers did ok, Wood passed the outside edge numerous times but didn't get the luck, but with shambolic batting you're not going to win games. Rubbish and the Aussies retain the ashes with 2 games to go.......
  17. Been snowing most of the night over here in Yorkshire, no chance of the game being called off but allow a little extra travel time due to weather.
  18. Another toss lost when we really could have done with bowling first today in rainy overcast English like conditions. That said, it gives the batting lineup a chance to shine. Game starts at midnight, come on England.
  19. Fronted by a real working class hero, tune isn't bad either:
  20. Happy Christmas one and all, lets hope for a triumphant Blackburn Rovers New Year. I posted this on the other side of the forum but I want as many people as possible to see this. The program was on BBC2 last night and I have to say after an awful 2yrs it was so uplifting. Blackburn/Darwen folk coming through adversity, had the Mrs in tears, not me though 🙄 BBC iplayer, well worth a watch, made me so proud to be from the town. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0012yqs/blackburn-sings-christmas-with-gareth-malone
  21. You're more than making up for it on here though Ian 😉 All the best to you pal.
  22. I've been one of his biggest supporters throughout the life of this thread because I understand what its like working for a dysfunctional organisation, with incompetent leaders and useless/non existent exec team. In situations such as that you can only come to work and do your best and I believe Mowbray has always done that and will continue to do so. Sadly for me, this current run is only temporary, we don't have the squad or the strength in depth to continue along this path, but my god I'd love to be proven wrong. When the side hits the buffers the knives will be out wanting Mowbray gone, but the more savvy amongst us will realise that given more time and a few quid to bolster the squad, next season could be even better. Watching the side right now is the best its been for a decade or more, enjoy it, support it, you just never know... Happy Christmas to you all.
  23. Absolutely superb, what a really uplifting 60 minutes that was Tony, Lancashire folk at their best in the face of adversity. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0012yqs/blackburn-sings-christmas-with-gareth-malone
