  1. Past hour
  2. Irakli Yegoian a good attacking CAM/RM will be going cheap now with his club in Holland going under, would be a good buy but far to short for Val
  3. I’m always of the opinion that you have to be fairly poor player-wise and lack tactical nouse to go down. It always surprises me how limited sides who are sat comfortably mid-table can appear sometimes. Therefore until I’ve seen how our lot gel I’m going into it with an open mind. The most likely result I feel is a defeat, but it wouldn’t be surprising if we were saying they looked fairly poor after the game and we come away with a decent result. The obvious issue is right back. Montgomery looks a big risk and Alebiosu is a complete unknown.
  4. We can't possibly need to sell. So much has walked out of the door.
  5. "Sales do not affect the budget" - Rudy Gestede April 2025
  6. Derby are bidding for Johnstone from Sturm Graz who is a right back.Bid turned down last week and an improved bid turned down over the weekend. Brittain will probably be announced by Boro tomorrow
  7. Fair play to you Mike. You tried your damnedest for the betterment of Blackburn Rovers in good faith… that sentence being the exact opposite of what the modus operandi of the regime is.
  8. Am I right in thinking this is the extent of the transfers thus far? In Sidney Tavares Dion de Neve Ryan Alebiosu Sean McLoughlin Out JRC Danny Baath Tyrhys Dolan Andreas Weimann So, given the expenditure perhaps exceeding income, as far as anyone can make out, (not taking into account wages saved), we will need to sell to either a) balance the books as they stand b) before we think of bringing anyone else new in. That would lead to the conclusion that there will likely be selling of assets ie one or all of Brittain, Travis, Tronstad. All guesswork of course.
  9. After Cambridge lost 5-0 to Leicester, Beck said Rovers didn't have a cat in hell's chance of winning the final. Got that one wrong, didn't he.
  10. They didn't away at Cambridge that season. I was at that game and we really struggled- although we missed a chance late on to get a draw IIRC.
  11. It gets worse. In the later part of 2023 I was approached by an individual in the Community Trust as they were looking to submit a bid to the Premier League Charitable Fund to bid to the β€˜Fans Fund’ for a Fan Engagement officer. This was at the time when WATR, and me personally, were desperate for the Club to engage and build Rovers support base. Four weeks after the approach I asked what had happened to be told it needed to be submitted within a couple of days but required support from an established fans group. I reminded the Trust that the bid would require WATR’s meaningful involvement as β€œfans should inform the design of the project” and be involved β€œin the design and development of projects prior to application….”. The Trust were desperate for WATR’s support and I wrote a supportive paragraph and arranged for fan groups such as Proud Rovers and others to also support the bid. This was on the basis of: 1. WATR would have a copy of the bid document before submission; 2. The new Fan Engagement officer would be tasked to include working outside of BwD in areas such as Chorley and South Ribble; 3. WATR would be on the appointment panel for the Fan Engagement officer. - We never saw the bid document albeit it was promised on various occasions. - An appointment was made without our knowledge; the individual only stayed 2 weeks as it was not the role the appointee believed it to be. - A new appointment was made and the job title changed without us being consulted or advised; - I cannot see any evidence of any fan engagement work outside of BwD, nor can I see much with BwD. - WATR were duped into supporting the Club. We did so for good reasons but were dropped as soon as the Community Trust got their money. This is how the Club operates. We tried engagement, it was only one way and on the basis the Club benefits. Engagement will not work with the present owners and management (sic) team.
  12. Cambridge weren't pretty but feck me, what Beck achieved with them on a shoe string budget was quite remarkable - making the most of what you have!
  13. We will surely see Derby coming in for Brittain
  14. Yeah I saw it live, a very similar situation.
  15. Wait till you see the defending for NEC’s third goal.
  16. Not sure they would. They couldn’t down at their place. We did the Ewood game 2-1 after they had gone down to 10 men in the first half.
  17. Today
  18. The outgoing business isn't in our control. Unless you get a bid you're willing to accept, what else are you supposed to do? Tout the player around and you invariably reduce the bids as they know you want to get rid. Buying teams also know you've more chance of a lower bid being accepted later on if the team wants or needs to get rid.
  19. England I would say. We were on the ropes there when the rain came. I can still see Woakes coming out to bat tomorrow with us needing 10 or so to win. Its been a terrific series tbf.
  20. Why on earth would we be in for Dele Alli? Fabregas gave him a lifeline and he's obviously fucked it up. He needs to just retire.
  21. Congratulations to Celtic for winning the league.
  22. I think Colin and Kevin would have coped tbf
  23. Montgomery at right back after yesterday ? De Neve instead of Kargbo ?
  24. Poor defending though. Two players tackle each other then the guys at the back must have been saying - β€œ just come inside and have a pop with your good foot β€œ
  25. Those punts look very reasonable, given the wrecking squad that is installed in the back rooms at the moment. I just think it is totally disingenuous of those morons to wait till late in the window to do the outgoing business, as it will inevitably leave us and VI short of numbers, spirit, experience and cover. Wankers! VENKY WANKERS OUT!
