  1. Past hour
  2. We'll either be winning 1-0 and the ref will abandon the game after 40 minutes because the ball won't roll anymore, or it will be called off at 2pm when most folk including 4k Ipswich fans are already there. Can't imagine they have taken any precautions like covering the pitch etc because thats not what they do.
  3. 2-0 Rovers today I reckon! Ipswich haven’t exactly been on fire so far this season aside from beating a shocking Sheff United side. Think Ipswich have decent quality and they will get better as the season goes on but today we bag our first home win of the season 💪🔵⚪️
  4. I'll summarise for you. We had an awful start but the last 3 games have been more encouraging (despite the loss with 10 against Norwich). We'll know which direction we are heading with Ismael by the end of October. My expectations have been reduced by the player turnover so if we comfortably avoid relegation and a few new signings show promise, that will be a relative success. Still not sure what his brand of football is about though.
  5. Your stellar contribution to this tread is much appreciated
  6. Today
  7. Yeah although I don't know for certain the reason, I hope it's not a full blown injury and they're just handling him carefully, but it's a full week since he played and after a clean sheet last time round to me it would be odd to change it unless absolutely necessary.....could be that Miller has been on fire in training and VI thinks he warrants a start I guess.
  8. Aye second this Holly tree john bulls 👌👌👌 in fact ill call in on way home from the match
  9. Steady rain but not torrential at the moment - really will be a poor do if we can't get the game on somehow or other. Do we cover the pitch?
  10. It’s free for ST holders or the games are at Brockhall where anybody can rock up. Academy teams aren’t there for anything but to find those odd diamonds for the first team, the rest are just making up the numbers until they end up at a Barrow or in Tesco. If you are expecting no holes barred fights for glory then more fool you for wasting your four quid at Leyland.
  11. Not this again, please., I’m begging you all.
  12. VI seems to like Montgomery very much
  13. Winning isn't the be all, but certainly, it breeds confidence and creates an environment for player development. So, to my mind, results and team performances are an important part of youth player development. Those who deny it are usually underperforming coaches! Incidentally, I came across the following Rovers reserve result from 2002-03, when the first team was in the Premier League. Looking at the opposition players that became Premier League stalwarts or regulars, it was a remarkable result (albeit, Newcastle lost a man on 40 mins). A lot of stories in there but it's a curious feeling looking back at in hindsight. 23 January 2003 Newcastle United Reserves 1 - 2 Blackburn Reserves Half time: 0 - 2 Score Sheet: Gavilan (85) Grabbi (27) Grabbi (42 pen) Teams Steve Harper Brian Kerr Titus Bramble Steven Taylor Peter Ramage Andy Ferrell Diego Gavilan Jamie McClen Lomana LuaLua Shola Ameobi Bradley Orr Ryan Robinson Jonathan Douglas Alan Morgan Neil Danns Michael Taylor Gordon Greer Jerome Watt Ciaran Donnelly Ciccio Grabbi Jimmy Corbett Paul Gallagher Substitutes: Adam Bartlett for Ferrell (43) Damon Robson for McClen (55) Darren Hockenhull for Grabbi (65) Subs not used: Kris Gate Martin Brittain Neale McDermott Steven Drench Sebastian Pelzer Anthony Martin Andy Bell Bookings: Ameobi (39) illegal tackle Bramble (90) dissent Taylor (11) tackle on LuaLua Dismissals: Steve Harper (42) straight red for tackle on Taylor. 14. Heart-wrenching is someone wasting their potential and their joy with it. So, this is great for Buckley and decent for Rovers. As someone mentioned, he was getting worse - turning into a plodder with an occasional threaded pass, when he had always been an elegant player with untapped potential. I remember James Beattie saying he had to get away from his familiar surrounds to make it and maybe it'll be the case, in some sense, for Buckley. (Even if, for Beattie, the reasons were lifestyle related, if I remember rightly). The focus should really be on getting through the next Buckley, Travis or JRC. That's where the worries grow. With little to be proud of on the pitch at Rovers, it gives me some pride to think Rovers have fairly recently produced such technically gifted midfield players as Adam Wharton, John Buckley and, from women's football, Keira Walsh.

  17. You missed the bit about him wanting a new contract in December / January under Eustace but the club refusing to discuss one.
  18. The story is basically: I wanted to leave. I thought I could leave earlier in the window when the first club came in. Turns out the club wanted more money. I thought they'd accept less. They didn't. They indicated that they would sell me, but they didn't make it as easy as I wanted it to be. It's totally nothing. I'm a huge critic of the club, but pretty much any transfer could have this same story. It's also a slightly misleading headline that makes it sound like it might be referring to contract negotiations.
  19. Cup game results doesn't have bearing on my Ismael's job here. My view on Birmingham game and we didnt get what we deserved from that game based on the overall game not just cherry picking like yourself. Ismael will be judged on results. So far we had steady/ok start
  20. To be fair, if the Rovers don't win, I will take no solace how our on loan players do
  21. 😂 so it is about the objective matter of results, but only upon the removal of lost cup games and having added on additional points that we subjectively "deserved" but didnt get due to poor play. Ok then. You could surely say that all losses were suffered due to poor play. Yet its not enough evidence even when youve twisted the results in your favour to just say that you are all in on the manager.
  22. Results show 2 wins and 3 losses in 5 league games yes league games. Cos its the same question every time. Its about results in the league. Simple as. We should be on 9 points if it wasn't 2 poor pieces of play from us.
  23. You said it was all about results correctly so its irrelevant surely how many points you think we "deserve" to have. Results show 2 wins and 4 losses this season. 4 wins, 2 draws, 5 losses last season. So overall, 6 wins in 17. 9 losses. Simple as that. You avoided my question and seem reluctant to say whether you are all in on Ismael and if you are fully confident in him.
  24. Granted but 6 points from 5 games is decent/ok given that squad overhaul we did. Its a gamble from us but let's see where come Christmas time
  25. Not an app lover. World beginning to think everyone uses them and that day will come. Having said that I was forced into a corner in getting a Google Wallet so the ST was relatively straight forward. Only thing is it sends 2 oe 3 messages each week which I assume from reading on here is a changed bar code.
