  1. Past hour
  2. Bullshit I assume - but how can Boro / Sunderland consistently get tens of millions for their talent and we can't? B
  3. This signing was never happening. The same old tired distraction tactics used year after year. Honestly don't know how folk can't see straight through it after 15 years.
  4. Ribble Valley, that. Clitheroe FC’s patch.
  5. There's a 5 a side team from Mellor that play on Wednesday nights. Best not encroach on their territory.
  6. he`s obviously not injured as he played 70 minutes on sunday,so i only only assume, with considerable experience of how venkys go about their football business, that we won`t pay what yverdon want,so try to save face and paint him as injured, appease the fans and all that
  7. Amazing how players seem to have career ending injuries at this club yet they magically recover the second they sign elsewhere.
  8. I'm surprised we still make any effort in Darwen. What do Darwen FC have to say about us encroaching on their patch?
  9. You are probably correct, it’s owners that care, who would be checking how pre- season is going and how the new signings look and if they are value for money. We can hope, though I suppose.
  10. Well that makes no sense. We would not know until we looked at him so the bid would have been without knowledge of the injury. Find a better stick.
  11. we won`t pay yverdons price so it`s obvious we were trying to get him on the cheap, using his "injury" as an excuse, what a horrible bunch of scrotes we have running the show
  12. Same injury as Ryan Nelsen before Spurs signed him?
  13. It remains to be seen, if the newcomers are here just to fill gaps. From what I saw at Ewood against Everton, there was some promising signs.
  14. Today
  15. I hear Baradji returned to action for Yverdon, playing for 72 minutes, yet we declined to sign him for medical reasons.
  16. You’ll likely get your Jelly and Ice Cream all the same but Esteve signed a new contract, hopefully Beyer and Ekdal are back fit and we’ve added Hartmann, Tuanzabe & of course Kyle Walker so you might argue outfield player wise it’s stronger rather than being dismantled. Obviously need a new number 1 now and will no doubt struggle - but we would have regardless. Still no sign of a striker either
  17. We are in managed decline and there’s nothing positive to draw from Venkys reign….but I still can’t get comfortable with anyone be “sure” that we’ve had a bad window. And just because you don’t know a player, and he doesn’t cost millions doesn’t mean he’s rubbish. It’s different if the club hadn’t signed anyone or if they were signing players we’d been watching for years and could say unequivocally that they were crap!? But I’d put money that most of us haven’t seen any of them play before, including McLaughlin. So I just don’t see how anyone can be so sure that we’ve had a bad window.
  18. Middlesbrough have made two signings now - Alfie Jones from Hull for a fee which could reach £3million with add ons and Abdoulaye Kante (defensive midfielder) from Troyes for a fee reported at less than £2million. Clearly, reinvesting the Hackney money. Will they now deliver a knockout bid for Brittain to thwart Eustace and Derby.
  19. Yeah Blackburn and Darwen obviously now Burnley marketing territory - they are a PL club, after all.
  20. I wonder what will happen when BwD is scrapped and the councils of there, Hyndburn, Burnely, Rossendale and Pendle (and perhaps bit of Ribble Valley) get sqished together as is proposed. We'll probably abolish marketing altogether.
  21. They signed a midfielder for £3 million yesterday or day before
  22. Looks like nobody can be arsed updating the kick off times on here: https://www.rovers.co.uk/matches/results/
  23. Luton were linked to Travis when Edwards was manager there, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's on a list somewhere.
  24. Although the 92/95 team wasn't a one-man band - as could be seen by how they maintained performances in the 2nd half of the 92/93 season without Shearer - it is fair to say that without him we wouldn't have win the league. The 2000's teams under Souness / Hughes / Allardyce were much more a sum of their parts and less reliant on an individual talisman.
  25. Lower league and non-league clubs are one of the few places that still take large amounts of cash on a weekly basis
