  1. Past hour
  2. @glen9mullan is the man that knows pressure isnt for tyres, its for Pasha 😄
  3. Today
  4. Pasha under pressure? Or no news currently? Lots going on behind the scenes I assume?
  5. That deposit has to be carrying a lot of the weight there, surely. Lease costs might have come down too, I dunno, but that's a huge difference in vehicle value for you to be paying a smaller monthly. Either way I expect you'll really like your new car. One thing Polestar and Volvo will do together is help Volvo avoid the fines for not producing enough EVs as a percent of their sales in the UK. Any petrol/diesel car sold above the allowance means a hefty fine, and companies who sell more than enough EVs can sell their credits to other companies to avoid those fines. Or in the case of Volvo and Polestar, probably just give them to Volvo. If Volvo are already selling enough EVs as a proportion (I've no idea if they are), then the credits can just be sold to other companies like Ford who probably aren't meeting the requirements. Other countries have similar schemes.
  6. Venkys ownership has killed just about everything else in one way or another so season ticket sales just go hand in hand with that. Nobody trusts them from one week to the next even most of their 'defend the status quo' mob if they are being honest.
  7. Paul Young - Wherever I Lay My Hat That’s My Home
  8. We do accept it, but you keep using it as some sort of brag. Prioritising Rovers games over literally everything isn’t the flex you think it is.
  9. A better club? The bar is set incredibly low on that score. Seriously, are there any Championship clubs with worse owners / operational management? If we'd offered him a "decent enough wage packet" we wouldn't be in the current situation. Agree, he won't get a PL move but are there really any less progressive or ambitious Championship clubs than Rovers? I think not. Again Chaddy, I think you are trying to defend the indefensible. Wake up and smell the coffee.
  10. to be fair to the Port Vale Marketing team they're not working for Saachi and Saachi and will be doing about 15 'marketing/promotion' jobs, spread across social media, commercial, hospitality, events and whatever else might come under their remit so I can let them off
  11. Agree in principle, that was great vision by Jack, but that vision was that WE should benefit and that one day WE might produce a Man U style golden generation for ourselves. When the charlatans took over that dream disappeared, we were never going to benefit from a major emerging talent, others were. We're less of a nursery now and more like a simple incubator. For those old enough, think Crewe. They produced some really good players but they were never going to play for Crewe. Agree that Academy sales keep some of the lights on but we get peanuts when the talents emerge and are told by their agents to not sign long term papers. Most of our kids come from far and wide, they're not all Wartons from Blackburn. They owe us nowt and aren't emotionally tied to the club. They're here for one reason only - we're recognised as a launch pad for better things elsewhere. So I repeat ... what's the point? This wasn't Jack's vision.
  12. I think Oldham could sell more season tickets than us!
  13. Bolton have appointed a new CEO who has joined from Plymouth - I wonder if a certain hack has been mixed a bottle? 😂 They have also reported that 15000 season have been sold.
  14. I haven't bought or even entertained buying a season ticket sinice the Venky's takeover. It's not about making the games because I can attend all of them as I am my own boss nor is it a question of the money as since I have stopped buying one I simply find the seat I would have purchased and times the cost of that seat by 10 and give the money to charity. For me its about principle of the thing, in giving money to the Venky's and the incompetent chancers of the Rovers board. However I do feel a lot of empathy to those fans you cannot purchase one due to the quite frankly insane cost of a season ticket given the clubs catchment area. On top of that you have the utter stupidity of some the kick of times, then its a perfect mix to stop some fans attending. I can truly sympathetic to those fans who would attend but given the reasons I have stated cannot. What i find utterly amusing if I am honest is the notion of someone like myself who is boycotting., is somehow that makes me less of a fan then those who attend. I have supported Rovers for over 40 years I have had a season tickets since the age of 18 travelling from the North East spending hundreds if not thousands to make sure I could attend not mention the European adventures and friendly games on top of the away games I attended to. I love my club but I love my principles and morals more so until the Venky's depart I will not buy another season ticket. But respect to those that do. I just wish some of those people would have a bit of understanding and compassion to those that would like to attend but cannot for either financial reasons or commitments in their personal lives which is made worse given the stupidity of some of the kick off times. I mean for myself it was a easy decision to boycott given my principles and the fact that I have many more social activities then just this, which I am really grateful for but that doesn't mean I dont love or support my club. I just want what's best for it and for all Rovers fans. I cannot wait for the day the Venky's leave my club and I can return to the hallowed Ewood Park.
  15. Announce prices ..then early bird big discount for a decent length of time then back to the original price and leave it at that. No need to complicate anything with such a small fanbase and similar numbers who'll buy year in year out. Only way to increase volume significantly is a really big price cut or promotion anything else is pointless deck chair shuffling you'd think they'd have learned that by now. Always the chance of a late uptake if some decent signings are made and some ambition shown but that is ruled out in this era so it is what it is.
  16. We get a tribunal fee if he joins an English team.
  17. The Academy is the only reason we continue to exist as a club. Without the likes of Carter, A. Wharton, Lenihan, Hanley, S. Wharton, JRC, Nyambe, Travis, Buckley et al we'd probably be in L1/2 if not folded completely. Jack's legacy has propped up the Venkys for a decade.
  18. Fed up with the poor communication from the EFL over the years as well myself, completely disillusioned by Football in England - obviously mostly through Venky's but kick off times etc really have got me to the point I can't be arsed most the time. EFL still havent released anything regarding this for 25/26: https://www.efl.com/how-to-watch/tv-game-selection-process They must know the dates for selecting tv matches, this is what really matters for planning going to matches up to Jan. They just treat us all like numpties with nothing better to do.
  19. Yeap over a week ago it was reported...Then add a day or 2 before hand for your standard delay in reporting etc...Pasha says no.
  20. Good to see Rovers didn't mess around and got the defender who was in "advance talks" over the line. 🐖✈️
  21. In your context the customer is told "The price is £xxx" but pay for it now and you get a percentage off. Therefore it's all transparent. In Rovers case (and other football clubs), it feels like you are told "The price is £xxx, and it will go up by an as-yet undisclosed amount in so many days time. They clearly had no definite plan other than see how many we sell in phase 1 and that will make them decide how much to put them up by.
  22. The idea behind a price change is to encourgae earlier renewal or purchase to advance the cash received, or peoples circumstances changing, or people having too long to think about what a shit show it is. From a business perspective getting the money in earlier is always a good idea to remove risk but also benefit from interest etc, especially in the low season for income when no matches are being played. I have used something similar in businesses I have been a finance leader to encourgae customers to pay quicker, say normal terms are 60 days but offer a cash discount if they pay in 15 days (2%) or 30 days (1%). The problem with a football club, esepcially one like ours, is that disposable income is not massive for most and in the summer with holidays, kids off school etc, it can get eaten up a lot quicker so having 300-500 quid to spend is tough many at this time of the year, especially if trying to justify it to the better half at the minute!
  23. The Young Rascals - Good, Good Lovin’
  24. I read that Glasner said the week after that Wharton was sleeping in the afternoons for hours at a time which was very unusual for him.
  25. Actually, its not a target but its all part of a great plan whereby players will only play those minutes when they are ready and 3 selected players are 100% ready to play that many minutes based on very brief cameos. And if you doubt this, you must want the academy shutting down. We were at those numbers before due to 2 reasons. One special once in a generation talent, no longer at the club. And budget cuts meaning that sub par players ended up playing far too much and we ended up nearly going down.
