  1. Today
  2. Great win and a huge lift before Christmas, Pratt excellent again and nice for Matty, Tom and Nathan for the debuts. Millwall were third before the kickoff. I think the Academy players has contributed alot this season. Says it all about the small squad but I'm more of giving our young players the chance that. Other teams.
  3. Well that’s that. A bit of fight this time but the damage was done in the pathetic showing in the first 2 Tests Jamie Smith must be the epitome of the Bazball philosophy. Bashes the ball around like he’s playing in a one dayer then inevitably gives his wicket away. Does he realise it’s ok in test cricket to be circumspect for a while and not every ball has to be lashed to the boundary? McCullum,s a busted flush. Look forward to his resignation
  4. If anyone said anything wrong about Rovers when I was at school aged 7 it usually ended in a fight. We were shit and in the third division but they are my home town club and I have always loved the underdog. if only I could have met up with the Liverpool, Leeds, Man U and Chelsea fans amongst us in 1995 some 23 years later, that would have been something.
  5. How many years did we have hard-working, non scoring center forwards and sat here wishing we had a bloke who'd just stick it in the net? We finally have one and there's complaints about the rest of his game? Said it before, but a player in this division who is the complete package doesn’t stay here for very long. Gudjohnsen is a very good player at this level.
  6. Massively premature take, as I think it's the first time I've ever seen them kick a ball, but Litherland reminded me of JRC today.
  7. Great win that today and fully deserved. I see Litherland played and did OK, looks like word is getting back to the management.
  8. Complete mismatch to have Adam trying to mark Calvert Lewin it's the job of a centre half.
  9. It's important they go on loan in non-league for a month to play no games and toughen up! That will surely aid their development.
  10. Wharton did some great work to create the chance for Palace's penalty goal today against Leeds. However, he was also involved the other way at three set-piece goals conceded by Palace. To me, it looks like he was marking Calvert-Lewin for both his goals and then relieved of that duty, arguably didn't do enough to try to stop a knock down on the edge of the box that Ampadou seized on. I would say the first conceded goal was the biggest mistake, the other two were harder for him to defend. Nonetheless, I do think it highlights some defensive frailties in a clearly wonderful player. It reinforces to me that he is not (yet) the defensive midfielder some present him as and, arguably, Glasner, was at fault for putting him on duty on Calvert-Lewin at set-pieces in the first place.

  12. Ohashi makes the whole system work, the ground he covers relentlessly and the way he is always fit is really remarkable. That we can play two forwards and two attacking mids is down to his pressing and physicality Take him out and I think we would be quickly back to the drawing board.
  13. Are we certain he hasn't already scuttled off back to India?.
  14. Pasha's remit is to run the club as he sees fit and make it as cost effective as possible. The owners leave it to him completely and as long as he doesn't ask for extra money over the agreed budget, the owners are happy and he gets his bonus. He is all powerful at the club - especially now that Steve Waggott has gone. The owners really have no interest and just accept his decisions without question. If Pasha told the owners that he had cut costs to the max and it was now a matter of put up more money or sell then Venky's would probably sell. Pasha hates publicity ( and fans !) and is very arrogant. If we keep the pressure on him and he decides he's had enough ( and earned enough ) it could be the start of the end for Venky's
  15. Which costs money that isnt forthcoming.
  16. What attributes does he have? Hes tall, not seeing much else.
  17. Read Glen's posts - he's not just a middle manager, he's been here from the start and this is seen as his baby.
  18. Well we have signed a few (Ohashi, Gudjonsen, Tronstad, Toth, Alebiouso, Mori). But rarely (never?) in January to be fair
  19. And we have a current Australian international in our starting XI...
  20. It's because certain people at the club are in bed with the agents representing the dross
  21. He wins quite a few headers as well, but disappears for long stints as well. Fortunately Ohashi works his socks off for this team or else there's no chance we play two up front.
  22. I would have rather kept Buckley than sign Tavares, especially if we actually paid money for the latter (for my own sanity I will assume the £2m reported fee is dependent on many clauses). Bucko didn't turn out to be anywhere near as good as was hyped up, but he's still a better Championship player than Tavares. One imagines signing a striker would be dependent on shifting Gueye, which may be difficult. Especially when there are videos being released of his own team mates mocking him.
  23. Would be a huge statement if we tie him up to a new deal.
  24. Edit oops sorry didnt see Herbie's post.😊
  25. Can't see Glasner staying at Palace, sounds very frustrated with lack of investment in the squad there. Leeds have out performance them tonight. Everton been poor. Thought they been more aggressive against Arsenal than that
  26. Ohashi, Gudjohnsen, Miller, Alebiosu, Toth just to name a few
