I think only one UEFA team has beaten a CL exile in the last two seasons!

Thats an extraordinary amount of balls!

Last years final was between Boro and Seville who both were in the groups (ie. Always been in the UEFA). All eight of the 'exiles' were knocked out by clubs came straight into the UEFA. How on earth did you get that impression?

So rather than having an invincible record the CL teams have been RUBBISH! Indeed Shalke were the only CL team to make the semis.

Bring it on.

I think he means in the next round but even so as you point out it was two group stage teams in the final and if you look at the Champions League groups there are fewer shocks than recent years so much weaker teams coming through. If anything there are some very strong teams in 3rd place like Ajax, Celta Vigo, Osasuns, Besiktas and Auxerre.

I was referring to the round of 32 as I was answering a point about Rovers coming 2nd being OK. You are right that the CL clubs got wiped out in later rounds but in the 2nd place v CL exiled games in the round of 32, only Levski prevailed against Artmedia.

Anyway, Nancy's game has been abandonned. No doubt Feyernoord will be entertaining Krakow in an empty stadium on 13 December but the 3-0 scoreline will be allowed to stand from tonight.

The official table is showing Rovers top and Nancy as having only played two games at the moment.

Barca have to beat Werder Bremen next week to avoid dropping into the UEFA. Werder were good enough to beat a determined decent strength Chelsea whilst Barca will still be injury-hit.

Damn! If it was the Nancy fans caussing the problems they should fine Nancy 3 points. lol

The Feyenoord players do not want to play on, but the Nancy players do. If the police fired the tear gas they are saying that the result is unlikely to stand, unless it came from the feyenoord fans.

Nancy have got about 3 or 400 stewards streaming on to the pitch, they are desperate to get this game finished!

It's been a sad day for us Feyenoord fans. It appears that we get a long ban again from playing in European Competition. We've had one ban already during the late 90's for a couple of years and we also got a match suspension without supporters last year , so that means we're totally f*****... :(

EDIT :

The game is going to continue..... Unbelievable..

Well it has come from the feyenoord area, whether it was the fans or the police they didn't seem to know. But earlier in the game we did also see the feyenoord fans break through a barrier before being forced back by police.

But now we won't know what happens, cos eurosport have decided skiing is more important

Jesus christ...Van Hooijdonk just missed a penalty as well. Game was under way for only 1 minute... :(

The police threw the tear gas. That is what Dutch tv told us and they were 100% sure.

Thank god we never drew Feyenoord at Ewood...I'm sorry SCF08 but a 'section' of your support are the scum of the earth.Bizarre to see the Nancy fans all dissappear!

Having said that what sort of idiot police (if indeed it was them) fire tear gas into a packed stadium?

P.S.

Nancy look a very classy side.

Damn, we could have done with that penalty going in.

Unfortunately, the Feyernoord fans rioted in Nancy before the game as well.

If the jumpy Gendarmerie fired the teargas whilst the game was in progress, it might be less clearcut about what will happen. However, as they are playing again, I guess what the score is when they finish is what will stand.

So let's get this straight. The police at the stadium (which coutry is it in?) fire tear gas into the crowd after Feyenoord fans go mental and try to break down a barrier to get onto the pitch. The match is held up for a while, and now it's back on.

It's in France. The Feyenoord fans went mental in the first half , broke to the glass security wall and got into the Nancy supporters stand. During the 2nd half the police fired tear-gas into the Feyenoord stand to calm the fans down , but our goalkeeper got some of that tear gas in his eyes and the game was suspended.

Nice , 3 minutes of extra time... :D Feyenoord fans are singing they want 1 more..

Probably our last minutes in European Football for the next 5 years or so , so i'm gonna cherish them.. :(

More people than that did!

The result for this has to stand, or Feyenoords results be expunged from the record and the club get what they deserve for the abysmal behaviour of their fans.

Although they were getting soundly beaten tonight, a win in the last game at home would have got them through to the next round so a little surprised the fans kicked off in this game as that will almost certainly mean they are out I guess
