American Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Lucas Neill lied and thought he was the mutt's nuts conveniently forgetting at least 4 yaers of sh1te. Neither accusations can be levelled at Craig Bellamy, Yeah, making the Premiership 11 the season we finished 6th is just crap. He had at least 2 great years and the rest were better than average for his position. Plus, unlike Bellamy, he was actually healthy...
modes98 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 can't believe people want bellamy back I think his goals help a bit
Blackpool_Rover Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Id definately go for the deal! Bellamy was class for us and i truly believe that he left because of Liverpool being a dream of his. He still praises Blackburn and i think if he came back now it would be for the long run. Pedersen is great but he is gonna leave anyway. Its obvious he is destined for bigger things and although he is happy at rovers he has stated on many occasions that his dream is to play for united and when he first came he even said, in as many words, that we are a stepping stone to a big club.

bluebruce Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Am I alone in thinking Benni and Bellers would not gel at all? Benni is a poacher who scores mostly converting crosses in the 6 yard box, and very good at it he is too. He has zero assists so far this season. Bellers, as we know, demands much of his team mates so the site of Benni loafing around waiting for Bellers to tee him up could well result in Bellers unzipping the mashie-niblick once again, only this time halfway through a match. Bellamy wouldn't come back unless the team was being built around him I think Bellamy would be quite encouraged by the rate at which Benni puts away the chances Bellers would make for him actually. Bellamy, aside from being a forward, is actually great at getting wide and putting a pass/cross in, something Benni puts away well as you say. Certainly more than Dickov and Kuqi put away. I think they'd be an excellent pairing, for the reasons stated by others also.
Presty On Tour Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 well good strike force pairing as you and so many have said though what are the chances of bellamy not comming and benni leaving the club this summer and where left with nout? derbyshire/roberts anyone?
bluebruce Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Well clearly it wouldn't come down to that. If we lost Benni I hardly think we won't sign another forward. My expectations are we won't get Bellamy, Pool will keep him another season before selling him on, and Benni will stay.
USABlue Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I would be in the have him back category. Not for MGP ni way unless Morten signals his desire to leave the club. I can say that, having missed out on actually watching any of the Shearer years, I have never been so excited about watching Rovers play as when Bellers was here. With him in the side there was always tremendous anticipation that we could pull something off at any time. Teams guarded against Bellers' pace by laying off a bit more than they might otherwise. I see that reaping good dividends with the likes of Benni Mac and also Dunny. My feelings are Dunny would look really good with a player like Bellers in the team. We played to Bellers strengths Liverpool do not, that is the differenc ein the way he looks nowadays. Just my humble opinions.
Exiled in Toronto Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I am still unpersuaded that its a dream team. When we had Bellers, the only role for t'other striker was to distract defenders and create room for the welsh wizard. Can't see Bennio fancying much of that. And of course it remains to be seen if indeed Hughes does see them as the dream partnership. We are speculating that he is not just keeping his options open by lavishing praise on the both of them. However, I would much prefer to see the theory tested that it be Roberst/Derbs
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Lucky for us MGP isn't left footed. Really? How did that goal against Everton go in? Or the one against Sheff utd. Or all the corners he takes with his left foot?
key76 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 do we have to go through this again? pedersen is naturally right footed and trained himself to play with his left foot.
joey_big_nose Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 do we have to go through this again? pedersen is naturally right footed and trained himself to play with his left foot. I know that, but then as he takes everything with his left foot, and prefers shooting with it annd everything, does that not just effectively make him left footed? He very rarely uses his right foot, and looks no more ambidextrous (does that word apply to feet?) than Bentley.
key76 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Technically 'ambidexterity' can be applied to feet, but I sure 'two-footed' is probably a better term of phrase. If he's naturally right footed, he's right footed. Just his left is now better at taking free-kicks, shots, etc, although some would dispute the corners, maybe he should try his right?

Nah you're wrong mate, Joey is right. 'Your foot' is the best foot that you can use. Now unless Pedersen deliberately goes out to not play to his full potential, then I'd say he is left-footed. It's like saying someone is right-handed when they had that hand amputated ten years ago. It just doesn't make sense. Anyway, all professional footballers should be able to use both feet and I don't care what anybody says.
gumboots Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Isn't his goal of the season entry right footed?
DP Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Don't believe it, whatever he or his dad says The boy's left footed, would never have made it as a pro footballer by using his weaker foot more
LA Rover Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Isn't his goal of the season entry right footed? Yes, and the Burnely goal was right footed, and the great goal against Norwich when he took down off his head was with his right, etc, etc.....the guy can strike a ball with both feet as well as anyone I've seen in a long time. That being said, his dominant foot is his left, hence his free kicks and corners, otherwise why wouldn't he take them from both sides?
bubblerrovers Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Martin Jol sees him as a left sided player which is my concern,
krislu Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Gamst favours his left foot over his right = left footed player. There really is nothing to discuss!
philipl Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Martin Jol sees me as a no sided player which is my concern if Spuds are ever going to pay me £60K a week. I think we can reasonably expect that if MGP is not at Rovers next season, we will have got a shed load of dosh for him as his contract has a decent length left to run. I will be surprised if he goes this summer. Nothing but nothing has convinced me that MGP being discussed in the Bellamy thread is anything other than a press fabrication. Does anybody believe otherwise and have the evidence to back it up? I am willing to be the makeweight in the deal bringing Bellamy to Ewood though.... Pound for pound I am good value and there is a lot of me.
Fife Rover Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 If Bellamy comes back to Rovers and Benni stays I can easily envisage them forming a great partnership and it will be a bit like having the SAS back again. But I also have this nagging little doubt that says they wont get on together at all. Remember they both have huge ego's and that could easily get in the way of a partnership. Let's just hope that MH will have considered all the ins and outs and will decide accordingly. Oh, and of course it may not happen for a variety of reasons. But if it does happen, I just hope it is NOT at the expense of having to lose MGP. For me that would be a very high price to pay, and especially as there is the risk factor mentioned above.
Rainmaker Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 If Bellamy comes back to Rovers and Benni stays I can easily envisage them forming a great partnership and it will be a bit like having the SAS back again. The BAM! is born?

One of the things that impressed me about Bellamy was the way he worked for the team-he might have been teed off with colleagues at times, but I thought he was very much a team player.
krislu Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Blackburn want to buy back Craig Bellamy from Liverpool - but they will not offer Morten Gamst Pedersen as bait. (Daily Star)
